Action Comics #1 New 52

Just read Action Comics #1 out of the new 52.

It was good enough to warrant a #2.

Definitely not the Superman we're used to, but enough like him to not be completely alien. (Besides coming from Krypton.)

Anyone else read it? Thoughts?

Just finished it. Just like Justice League, this whole new style to the heroes is weird, but in a way pretty cool. I enjoyed both. The new Detective Comics though was awesome.

It was alright, but I feel that if you dropped the name Grant Morrison everyone will just praise it lol

I honestly didn't care for it.

Was anyone bothered that Superman; who typically is depicted as being all about law and order in contrast to Batman being above the law, is now being depicted as above the law; which I guess in this Metropolis has been bought and paid for by corrupt business men?

I wasn't, I thought it was an interesting take; one I look forward to exploring.

That's true! And the reason for that is because his adopted parents are dead! Just like Bruce parents were dead, so it would make sense they have that similar attitude.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that he's embracing his alien heritage more because the lost ties of his parents.

I think you just "SPOILED" that Ma and Pa Kent were dead for me.

I read Kara was going to be embracing her Kryptonian heritage, and that Superman was going to be a jerk.

Ouch! I assumed you know, it was big news along with the Lois Lane news that was announced previously! sorry!

It's alright, I would have found out eventually.

So my brother's pretty bothered that Supes isn't all law and order anymore.

He says post Flashpoint Supes is just Batman with powers. I think that's a bit of a stretch.

What do you think?

I disagree because Batman has a tactical mind like no other. I think they're gonna be similar, but Clark will never match Batman in the brains department.

So basically what you're saying is Superman is stupid.:)

There was a time when Super Intelligence was one of Superman's powers. He was like a Super Scientist or something.

I like the idea of a Superman who is "super" in every way.

xhavoc86 09-09-2011 02:00 PM

Well...Superman is very intelligent, he can take on Lex Luthor, Brainiac, etc... some very intelligent enemies. But he doesn't plan ahead as much as Batman, Batman is almost prepared for anything...he plays out every scenario, every possibility and has a solution already prepared lol

Yes I see... Batman is more of a strategist.

I would like to see more stories about Superman as a Super Intellect.

My favorite Superman story ever is the JLU episode where he gets transported to the future and meets up with Vandal Savage; the last surviving human.
