Good news for DCUC Collectors!

MattyCollector.com Online Store

Here is your 2nd chance to sign up! Now it's time to do some serious thinking...

CLASSIFIED 09-14-2011 06:27 PM

I already did, but I would encourage those that didn't yet to take advantage of this opportunity.

thechris 09-14-2011 07:30 PM

Ok so this is the ONLY way to get Jay Garrick and Poison Ivy?

Tiberius 09-14-2011 07:31 PM

You can get everything but the subsciption exclusive from Mattycollector

thechris 09-14-2011 07:38 PM

Which is Metron, right?

Tiberius 09-14-2011 07:50 PM

Yea, so no big deal.

In 2012, DC Universe Club Infinite Earths will be the only place to get true collector 6" character figures not available at retail, including Poison Ivy, Atrocitus, The Flash 1 and Starman. When you purchase a membership for $30, you'll be shipped and billed for 9 monthly 6" figures starting in April 2012 and 3 "oversized" figures (one shipped approximately each quarter, beginning with the second quarter). You’ll also receive the club-exclusive oversized figure, voted by fans to be Metron with his Mobius Chair!

As you know, this club going forward was based on reaching a certain number of subscriptions. Although our goal wasn't achieved, we want to show our support for fans by moving ahead. In order to make the club work, we crunched the numbers and here's what we came up with: As a benefit to membership, you'll be locked in at the advertised subscription rates of $15 for 6" figures and $30 for oversized figures, plus shipping/taxes/fees. Prices for figures sold outside the subscription during our monthly sales at MattyCollector.com will be $18 for 6" figures and $45 for oversized figures. The subscription is the only way to guarantee the lower prices and get fan-favorite Metron, which will not be sold at MattyCollector.com!

KshatriyaNZ666 09-14-2011 09:28 PM

Plus, you get a $3 price hike along with the fact that a Club like this has no precedence whatsoever, so we really have no clue as to whether or not things will go Batman-shit crazy like they did with the Club Eternia MOTUC figs. I'm referring of course to the alarming rate at which the earlier figs sold out for non-subbers.

But, DCUC figs don't seem that "elaborate" as MOTUC in terms of tooling, size, etc. so they might have much more product to distribute to the non-subscribers. Then again, I really don't know much about these kinds of processes so don't take my word for anything. :)

masishadow 09-14-2011 10:24 PM

So the $45 for oversized figures is for non-subscribers and both old and new subs will have the same subscription price?

And the thought of paying everything up front deterred me from subbing the first time, but I obviously don't read well: You are billed as everything's shipped right?

That's what I thought after reading it. I don't like the whole subscription thing, it doesn't seem like there is enough reward for being a part of it. I know this will make it possible for them to keep making figures, but it would really benefit from having free shipping to subscribers, or at least something appealing like that. Maybe even extra quality control?

Tiberius 09-14-2011 10:35 PM

I hope it is when they ship it, it SHOULD BE. God knows something can go wrong during shipment. I'm happy with not subbing for this year. I don't mind paying a few bucks extra for a figure I want. Atrocitus and Jay Garrik, done and done. Maybe an oversized figure if they ever tell us who they are. Either way, I got a feeling there will be some upset fans down the stretch.

I'd sign for free shipping, in a HEARTBEAT.

Well, the savings now for subscribing are pretty substantial. $15 for the over-sized is a pretty significant difference. And prices for MOTUC are rising for day-of sales as well. Wow. Glad I subbed that one. And I actually thinking about picking up the Voltron lions on the day of sale but they're only offering them with the pilots? Wait, what? Has that ever been announced before? This is the first time I remember them saying this.

its a lion every month then a pilot every month with sven being the exclusive. im not going to bother with the DCUC sub, i'll just take my chances with trying to get them when they go up

DogFashionDisco 09-15-2011 06:43 AM

So far Poison Ivy is the only must for me. Anything/everything Batman..... must be mine.

Not sure about that. On the matty site they say that the lions and pilots are going to be bundled together.

"In homage to the series and to make sure you get every figure needed to build the 23" Voltron and Ultra Blazing Sword, each pilot will come as a set with its corresponding lion, so Keith and the Black lion will come as a set, Hunk and the Yellow lion will come as a set, etc. Prices for the pilots and lions are $50-$65 per set, whether purchased through the subscription or when they are sold on MattyCollector.com during our monthly sales (they won't be sold separately)."

That's interesting. I did not hear that. I thought they were doing everything seperately and spreading it out over the year. 5 Lions, 6 figs about one a month. We will see.

ludovicotek 09-15-2011 09:21 AM

^ Yeah, that's the first I've heard about it too. I just wanted the lions. Looks like I'll be skipping Voltron all together now.

thechris 09-24-2011 09:41 PM

Okay, I'm taking the plunge. I weighed it out and it's way cheaper for me to get these figures this way. I'm just concerned that they're going to release things I don't want like movie style figures. Seriously why the hell would I want an action figure of Ryan Reynolds? Yuck. LOLOL! I'd be happy to continue getting things like Al Pratt, Sandman and those cool guys. I'm also worried that they're going to make figures of the new 52 which while I think are okay, would never buy figures of them. Any thoughts? If only they weren't totally ambiguous. If they were upfront and said "You guys are getting THESE figures." it would make the choice a lot easier.

Actually that's great for me and if not for my terrible memory, I would say that this was probably what persuaded me to get the subscription. I would HATE having to pay $8 to ship one little action figure that weighed damn near nothing. For me, that's a savings for at least $40. If they shipped Sven with the lot, that'd be even better.

kenm2474 09-24-2011 10:31 PM

I have heard nothing that interests me at all yet from this Club subscription. I'll stick with my Secret Files Poison Ivy. I like the skin tone color anyway.
