Boba's homemade diorama items

Got me some balsa wood and foamcore at the craft store and started dinking around with it. Here's m first completed items.

Wooden pallets. One with a broken board for kicks. Oh, and then a burnt out crate. That was a complete mistake that almost burned my house down.

Do Boy 10-13-2011 02:13 PM

Man those are awesome!! Those would actually go great in my Spawn Alley set.

Boba Fettuccini 10-13-2011 02:23 PM

they're really easy to make too! I shrunk down some measurements from a real pallet and approximated them at 1:18, then it's just a matter of cutting 3 long boards and 10 shorter ones.

Jason Abbadon 10-13-2011 03:42 PM

Brilliant! Mkae a ton of these for your "Wharehouse fight" diorama!

Boba Fettuccini 10-13-2011 05:49 PM

that's kinda what i was thinking. some big Costco-type shelves with pallets and boxes and stuff.

omega145 10-13-2011 06:15 PM

Very cool, the scale is perfect and they look as though they are mass produced pieces. Excellent job man! Have you thought about making some to sell? If so let me know and im sure others around here would buy them as long as the prices are reasonable.

Boba Fettuccini 10-13-2011 09:48 PM

if there's demand for some, I'd definitely consider making some.

DogFashionDisco 10-13-2011 11:43 PM

There is a demand for stuff in this scale. And trust me, you did a great job. You're burnt out crate though, should stay unique..... your house would appreciate your cooperation.

Boba Fettuccini 10-14-2011 02:23 AM

I'm taking em out in the driveway with a lighter next time. I was doing it over my gas stove which burns to hot so instead of singeing...

Anyway. I made a few more of these tonight while I was watching Big Bang theory. Used up the rest of my glue, and once I get some more I'll make another stack. I don't know how much I ought to charge for these, but once I figure out a fair price I'll put up a thread in BST with inventory and photos.

Boba Fettuccini 10-14-2011 02:23 AM

I also made a nice dining room chair today... just an alpha version really. I want to give it a curved back and I didn't figure out how to do that til after i had made it. so I'll put up photos later.
