The After-Holiday Sales Hauls Thread!
 

So the holidays are over, it's now 2012, and I bet most of you likely raided Walmart, Target, et al, to get toys on sale. Yet, what did you pick up? Post your post-holiday clearance hauls here! Here's what I got so far:

• Clone Wars Mace Windu
• Clone War Clone Trooper Hevy
• Clone Wars Cad Bane with that droid
• Thundercats Classic 8" Tygra for $8+
• Transformers DOTM Cyberverse Soundwave, Hot Rod, and Bumblee 3 pack for $7+

The Walmart near me had good stuff in Sept but since then, not much.

Checked again today & their stock is still depleted - nothing new.

Maybe again in Feb?

There was nothing for me to get during the post holiday sale...

Nothing post-Christmas deals for me yet, but I made out like a bandit the week or two leading up to Christmas. It seemed like every store was overflowing with stock and had some sort of sale to go along with it.

Honestly, the best post holiday deal I saw was at Toys "R" Us for Hasbro products. They were "Buy 2, get the third free" with a stacked "Spend $20 and get this toy free". Mix and match from Marvel, Star Wars, GI Joe, Littlest Pet Shop and Transformers. Brilliant way to clear out merchandise, and it worked like a charm (except for GI Joe toys). I had hoped to snag some things, but the day after the sale started, Transformers were nearly wiped clean, and Star Wars was slim pickings.

Yes saw that at TRU just nothing really good that I wanted. If they would have gotten more revision waves and 17 in than it would have been awesome.

I think the goal of the sale was to clear out everything that had been clogging the shelves to make way for the new stuff.

A lot of Lego sets. I bought the Megatron Kreo too. Wanted a few other Kreo sets but haven't found much on clearance. Want Sentinel and Optimus, but not finding either of them on clearance at the moment...

True and yet it hasn't happened yet :(

Perhaps not in your area, but in the Philly area, nearly every Toys "R" Us got wiped clean of Marvel, Transformers and Star Wars (to a less extent) the week after the holidays. Even more so than leading up to the holidays. They are now just starting to stock those shelves back out.

Disclaimer: Obviously this does not apply to all regions, and it can be drastically different from region to region.

Of the new stuff? Wow that's awesome...

Some new stuff (Transformers and Star Wars wise). TF Prime toys have started to stay on shelves a bit longer. Haven't looked into the Marvel stuff too much as I don't follow it well enough to know what's what there.

Some Target clearances are still going on. I want to pick up some pirates of the carribean figures but I am hoping they get marked down lower. Now they are still 50% off. Has anyone seen 75% off on any of these or lego, transformers, etc.?

LEGO are rarely clearanced. If they went any lower than 50% off, you should probably buy them.

Try Target for Sentinel being marked down and on clearance. Him, Megatron and Ratchet have all been marked down (Ymmv but, Target is usually good on chainwide price cuts) to $11.98, $8.98 and $5.98 resepectively.

What versions of Megatron and Ratchet? I wished they did a Ratchet variant for voyager class like they did for the deluxe.

Pirates figs are $4 at target where I live...I guess that's 55% off roughly.
No figs of the female (dont know her name) but I bought one a few months back- she'll become my Dani Moonstar...once I get around to fining her head, that is!

I have a whole container of just heads but cant find the damn thing!

The "Sightings" thread on here pretty much ruined my collecting experience for the most part. I tried to share, and was left with jack and shit (thank you Ash for that quote).

Oh I know. I knew each Target that had one left in suitable condition (for some reason nearly every one in the area had some damage to the box).

I stashed the best one and scored it for $11.98 today.

HA! I makwe that joke with my roommate all the time- "What did TRU have? Just the usual two pegwarmers...."

My man! Congrats! I never think to stash the clearance when it's only like 30% and what a week or 2 when it goes lower. Bah, you and your power of the beard! lol

What Trans are 11.98? Hopefully the Voyager classes...

I definitely underestimated the collecting market in my area (and trollers on this site). The places I looked at in the past are totally scavanged over now, so I am no longer looking for MU. A sad realization, but this shit happens. I'll just focus on my other interests (school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
