Is her hair fixable?

I got a question about this figure..

http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o...7252958067.jpg

Is her hair fixable? It looks like it has been glued at the wrong place....?

usagent27 01-22-2012 11:05 AM

it may be. you will have to heat the head up and slowly try to release the glue. i would worry about it tearing... if i was getting a good deal on this say 10 then i say go for it. don't pay more than that for a defect

usagent27 01-22-2012 11:17 AM

Someone just offered to trade it for my Shocker. But I don't want to do all that work and end up with a broken figure...

usagent27 01-22-2012 11:28 AM

gothca..yeah if Shocker was easy to come by i might still do it

see if they will sweeten the deal?

I probably will pass on this one... I got myself a Shocker from a fellow board member paying extra money and shipping before I found those 2 shockers.. they aren't easy to come by. I don't want to end up with a broken figure for trying to fix it. Anyways, I guess I will just wait to see if I can get another Ms Marvel ...

This is the variant; "Receding hairline Ms Marvel".

I was honestly expecting some sort of "make-over gone wrong" topic on the Marvel forums.

redx24 01-22-2012 05:36 PM

I am still looking for a Dark Avenger Ms Marvel. Loose or MISB. Anyone has one for trade or sale? Please PM me.

trebleshot 01-22-2012 07:18 PM

I'd say get it and keep it MOC as a rare variant. :)

But seriously, I don't think it's worth trying to "fix" since it could very well ruin the figure anyway.

I see what you did there.

behindthemask 01-22-2012 08:56 PM

the hair is not routed into the head, it looks like the figure slid when the glue was drying to secure the hair. leaving her a giant forehead and looks weird, I would say remove the headsculpt drop it into a glass of hot water, let it sit, take it out after 5mins, and try to manipulate the hair the way you want, if no luck, rip it off, get yourself some superglue or supercompound stuff and then press, let it dry and there ya go problem solved.

really this is more weird then Marvel Cologne?

redx24 01-22-2012 09:11 PM

buy it and resell as "RARE" varient. ebay seems like its full of rare varients

Ditto. You're not going to ruin the figure by removing the hair in this case. If it were an issue with the hair being too far forward on the head, you'd have to worry about the "glue line" running across the forehead, but not with the hair being that far back. I've removed the hair from this exact figure a few times for different customs. Just make sure you heat it up with hot water or a hair dryer for a couple minutes, then slowly peel the hair away from the head. Then carefully glue it back into the desired position. Crazy/super glue works best, and will hold it more securely than the factory glue.
