Intro

Hi guys,

I'm 43, a father of one 6 year old boy and we are from Nottingham England.

We collect Marvel Universe, Marvel Legends, Classic Marvel Figurine Collection, DC action league and various other odds and ends.

Super Hero Squad was the line that got me back into toys when my son showed an interest and I would dearly love Hasbro to BRING THEM BACK !

See you on the board.

Welcome to the Toyark!

As far as I know, Hasbro's sticking with their Rescue Heroes-scale stuff now (Marvel, SW and TFs all have sublines now), but who knows? SHS may make a return some day. I know my daughter got a kick out of some of them, so I wouldn't complain if they do come back.

Welcome mate, always good to have more Brits on board,if you like MU check the UK MU Collectors thread on the MARVEL toy forum, and dont be afraid of these Yanks, they are a bloody good bunch, and the BEST when it comes to getting toys you cant find over here!!!

Thanks for the welcome guys :D

I'll have a few days trawling (not trolling) the place and once I find my feet will be active. I'm sure I wont have anything new to offer in terms of collections but happy to share pics.

@trebleshot - Pleased to see another fan of Super Hero Squad

I picked up all the new Star Wars ones last time over there and really like them. A worthy successor to Galactic Heroes ? Jury still out for me but its possible. Also got the Transformer packs with the little vehicles and they are pretty cool too. As for the Squad replacements, the Blackbird jet (or whatever they called it) is great but the figures are a huge disappointment to date. Thor was pretty good but we skipped the other packs.

Love to know how well the line is selling, maybe its tanking and they will have a rethink.

@proteus - Big chunks of my collections came via some great mates in the US over at the rumorbuster so I'm not scared of these bally colonists ;)

I also try to visit the US a couple of times a year and bring back as much as I can carry. Toy shopping here at home makes me cry :(

I've read the UK MU pages and it made me cry for all of us ! Lord knows what the US guys would make of our desolate wasteland.

I've been debating about getting the Rescue Bots for my daughter. She likes "Daddy's Transformers" but they're too complicated for her right now. Plus, with RB she has figures and vehicles that she would be able to play with like does with her SHS figures.

Maybe if I get us both one, she'll be more into it since it's "just like Daddy's."

I totally empathise with you guys. I lived in Newmarket, England, for 4 years and during that time, there was only one good store that had anything worth getting and it was an hour away in Cambridge. It was a mom-and-pop kind of store but I can't for the life of me remember the name. I had to practically beg my parents to take me any time we were in the area (which wasn't often).

I think they are great little toys for playing with rather than looking at. The little hooks on retractable cords are good but my lad likes the Cop with the jetpack best. We found them at Kmart for $5 and tax each so it seemed a no brainer to get all 6. They fit nicely with Imaginext too which I guess was the point...eh Hasbro ;) I would say get her a pack or 2 to try them out, just dont get her hooked like us poor souls.

Our supermarkets are at least selling stuff like MU and SW 3.75 these days so its getting better here. Usually a wave or 2 behind at best. Its the amount of shelf space that really sinks us though. Most of my locals will have maybe 5-10 of each out rather than the massive selections you are used too in Target or Walmart. Even our TRU's are pretty much a waste of space compared to yours.

At least we have the weather eh ;)
