Mass Effect 3 Discussion *SPOILERS*

So, I'm sure most people (at least those who got the game right away) have beaten Mass Effect 3. I'm also sure most people have heard the very negative feedback about the ending and that Bioware intends to change that. I'm going to try to keep this spoiler free, but I will make another section just for the spoilers, because that way I am able to get into greater detail.

I for one liked the ending, it was a good way to end the trilogy. But there was a particular part, that just raised more questions. When I heard that people were complaining about the ending I assumed it was about this. Apparently though, that was only part of the problem. People just didn't like the ending and I am unsure as to why. I mean Tiberius' girlfriend hated it, but she can't explain why. Is there anyone here who could perhaps elaborate?

For my first play through, I played as male renegade Shepard who romanced Ashley in ME1, Tali in ME2, and Tali again in ME3. So at the end I chose to control the Reapers, because that seemed like the renegade thing to do (though it seems to me that it's actually the paragon thing to do, but that's up for debate). With that, I died, Earth was saved, Reapers went away, and the Normandy crash landed somewhere and everyone was alive. That last part was the part that raised more questions. How the hell did the Normandy get caught in the Mass Relay during the explosion? And how the hell Did Tali and Garrus (the two I brought onto the last mission) end back up on the Normandy? That was my beef with the ending, but I was certain that Bioware was going to release DLC to explain that. This article by IGN really tells you what they think, Mass Effect 3: New Ending Incoming - PlayStation 3 News at IGN, I highly recommend that you read the article and watch the 5 minute video included.

At the end, the ending itself bothered me very little. There were other things that bugged me though. The first one being the Journal. That thing pissed me right off. I mean it gave NO detail on what to for side missions. I had to "Mass Effect Wiki" almost every single side mission because it never told you where to go. The other thing that bothered me was the Galactic Readiness. When you're building your army, it's really on half of what it really is because your Galactic Readiness starts off at 50%. And the only way (that I'm aware off) to increase that is to play online. Where every match played gets you a roughly 2%-5% increase in Galactic Readiness. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but it is if you don't have Xbox Live time. Luckily for me though, I got it for the PS3. So no big deal for me. But I can see that really bugging other people.

In conclusion, I don't think Bioware should change the ending, personally. Just release some DLC with some answers. I think they should focus on other things, but that's just my opinion.
