Don't you hate that? So what do you with them?

I've also repeatedly passed on the purple colored Sentinel on BBTS (seeing as how I already have the SDCC one and two of the blue/silver ones). I still get the shakes every now and then, but my wallet has actually thanked me and told me I'm a good looking man for the first time in three years.

Up until now I've gotten every single variant of every single MU fig, but Samson and Marvell pushed me over the edge. I still plan on collecting MU but I now refuse to be raped by Hasbro every time their production people make a mistake or someone on their marketing team decides that kids will love an Iron Spiderman thats semi-translucent.

Haha I'm so glad I'm not a completionist. A MOC yes, but I don't need all of them. Or I don't care if it's a first or second release of the same figure as long as they look good.

I returned them and got my money back. Well one I just kept for $9.99 shipped. Not worth the hassle.

Ah nice smart. True enough.

That's total BS. At least eBay has great buyer protection when it comes to that sort of thing. You can always get all of your money back if the seller puts up a fight and their listing was wrong.

wolverine2281 01-04-2012 01:15 AM

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. I did it with Electro and the translucent face lightning. I communicated EXACTLY what I wanted and was assured that they had what I was looking for. I bought three and only got one. Brutal.

Ugh! I hate hearing these stories. You two guys had to put in serious cash and time just to round up the head variant, and still had trouble doing it. I've put no effort into it yet, and it's only going to get harder as time goes on. :(

That's why I'm so glad I'm not a completionist.....

About the translucent and solid head electro with translucent arms, It appears that the figure only comes in Translucent arms and translucent head there is no solid head Electro just varying translucency depending on quality control at the factory.

That's not true. Check out the picture of mine:

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-v...0/CIMG0721.JPG

Click and you can zoom in. The head isn't translucent at all. If it's supposed to be translucent, they failed in the extreme...

All 5 of the ones I've found were exactly like this one.

Jason Abbadon 01-04-2012 03:12 PM

I think he means quality control as to paint opacity on the head....maybe?

You got it, and pete that is translucent, though not as translucent as the hands but thats what I mean. You can kinda see the black through the yellow. Its more noticeable if you backlight the figure.

I'll have to backlight it when I get home and try to take another picture. I've got two of them in hand at the moment. Maybe that will 'shed some light' on the truth. Lol.

IMO slight card variants shouldn't count... but translucent versions are kinda cool... I guess. LOL.
