That's been my thought. If you want sell WW2 Cap give him a BAF and give Widow actual guns instead. Or just shot pack WW2 instead of her. This seems to be a business model they like though, making BAF parts hard to get. Spider-Man oddly we t against this trend but Wolverine, X-Men, and Cap all shorted the middle piece. At least with Hit Monkey they were all one per case and figures some wouldn't have bough otherwise.

Redlantern161 08-09-2014 08:38 AM

Can I just say if not for this one retailer I frequent, I'd be very upset that TRU & any LCS seem to have issues with getting figures

Trivial Psychic 08-12-2014 09:07 PM

Another option would be for Hasbro to include duplicate BAF parts included with other figures, the way many of Toy Biz's figures were done. For example, with the Sentinel wave, both Mystique and Omega Red featured the same BAF piece, the lower torso. It was also where you could attain the Sentinel's tentacles...which were also included with Cyclops. Sure, Hasbro would have to jump the waves from 6 figures to 8 to make this work, but honestly, the whole swap figure thing isn't working out too well to begin with anyways, so why not?

Anyone want a Emma Frost (the old one not the new one) for 59.99 plus shipping cost?

I'd be alright with that! Also, you just reminded me of when I first got my complete set of ML series 10, and I didn't realize I only needed Mystique OR Omega Red, not both...Given the choice, I definitely would've picked Omega Red. :D

You're kidding right? You know that one isn't even worth $10?

You all sure this guy isn't offering to pay $59.99 plus shipping for someone to take that nasty thing off his hands? That'd make more sense, really... =)

To be honest, I'd have paid someone more to take that ugly bitch off of my hands.

Zend 03-04-2015 01:53 PM

Looks like they're banking on someone mistaking it for the Wolverine Previews wave Emma Frost hahaaaaaaaaa.

Saw repackaged Marvel Legends GOTG figs today. Since the characters are on the side of the box, I noticed 2 Rocket Raccoons. Already have one, but still interesting to see at retail so I picked it up. Iron Man inside packaging. Picked up the second one. Iron Man inside packaging. Yes, they could BOTH have been errors, but I doubt it. Sad that collectors have to stoop that low.

I saw this at Fred Meyers today (Kroger grocery store). I'm surprised whoever did this left the thanos baf pieces.

They did not. The head and arm are from Hellcat/Spider Woman. So the person swapped Thors and then put their duplicate Thanos parts in place of the part that came with new Thor.
Plus Thor is in the Allfather wave, not the Thanos wave.
People just need to stop collecting if they have to resort to this kind of crap.

Kernel 05-05-2015 08:17 PM

Thanks for the info, I have that older Thor (he is huge) as I got it from Ross for like $7 a while back and I thought the baf pieces looked funny...Geez... That is so lame. I've been seeing this in my area more lately and I would rather have a scalper than this crap.

MarvelFanatic 07-06-2015 11:03 AM

This is why....

I stopped collecting ML....the one figure i want Storm from the Jubilee wave...and its the hardest to find....I refuse to pay 200 bucks for her....Im a huge storm fan and want this piece!

I'm sure every greedy scalper is going to want to get their hands on the new "Spider-Gwen" in the upcomming ML Spidy wave.....And she's prob gunna be "short-packed"....

If my memory serves me correctly they where also using clamshell packaging back then too....

im thinking it could easily have been an employee, those guys have access to the back, and usually storerooms have blind spots from cameras.security at my local stores is pretty on point, guys on the floor and security monitor operators, employees have better opportunities to pull this stunt off.

Nah, its much more likely someone bought it, swapped the toy, and returned it. For an employee to do it they'd have to 1) sneak in the figure, 2) swap it out (those trays make a decent amount of noise), and 3) re-seal it and get it back on the sales floor with no one noticing. With a return, only the clerk at the return counter has to be fooled and unless they're a fan of this toyline, they're not going to notice it. ESPECIALLY if someone takes one Thor and puts it in the box of another Thor.

MU Apocalypse Fail

I was looking for an MU Apocalypse in ToysRUs a while back. I found him in a ToysRUs. Well, at least his packaging. In place of Apocalypse was a crappy 99 cents Blue Power Ranger figure. How this guy got away with it, I have no clue. Could the employees be that stupid to not realize that?

deathofthelines 07-10-2015 02:49 PM

Toysrus security is a joke here in Florida I've been to several on a regular basis and everytime there at least 3 open items stolen from. My local one is a mile away and last time I was there I counted 300$ in theft items from video games and accessories to figures dolls and I think even playdoh. Back when they carried the legacy dragon dagger I found the empty box. Which means some one stole a tracking dagger the length of a forearm shiny and unbendable from the box along with 2 big ass legacy morphers and walked out the door like it was just nothing. I asked a worker about how they deal with theft he told me he doesn't get paid to worry about shoplifters. If its like this in other locations I gotta say tru probly bleeds more. Money than it makes and will be out of business in 5 years.

Almost all of the legends figures have been easy to find, even the women. I'm sure spidergwen will not be hard to find but who knows.

I would call them a thief more than a scalper I bet. My TRU beefed up security on the legends with a lockbox and electronic device after getting ripped off so many times.

kylactus 07-10-2015 06:40 PM

what's left to scalp in ML? I can literally make a 45 minute loop around my house right now and have the entire last four waves at retail peg warming like no other. I think it boils down to this:
Good distribution = no scalping.
