i'm scared to death for one to fall from too high because i know it will break in multiple places..this is why i left most of them in the packaging (and i don't do MIP).
one time my Zangief just fell OVER.. .not off of anything.. and he broke at the ankle.
one of my Dhalsim arms broke tying to swap it out.
i recently moved my E Honda and want to change his pose around.. i decided not too after everything feeling 'frozen' and you're just ASS OUT if one of these breaks..

side note: i have 2 Sagats. the MIP one..and a loose one from the bloody 2 pack. He still looks good. in fact, most of them do.

I loved the sota line. Had a few from the other lines too, just trying to make a complete set of the first 12 figures. Sculpts were great, but materials lacking. When Sagat broke, my heart broke with him, and I rehomed the rest.

These Storm Collectibles look and feel fantastic. I’m not sure how durable the silicone-like skin is, but hopefully these will be the last street fighter and MK figures I’ll ever have to buy.
I just wish they’d pick up the pace and concentrate more instead of having figures from a dozen different games. I really can’t see KOF or Injustice selling anywhere near as good as street fighter or MK.

yeah they are all over the place instead of getting the two main lines completed. pick up the pace already.

All I really care about are the Fist of the North Star and Darkstalkers lines.

Does a "classic" SF2 Ryu exist in this line?

Being that Ryu really hasn't changed all that much in design all these years, you could probably just go with the very first figure that Storm released and it could work as any incarnation of him over the years with the exception of maybe the original Street Fighter game and The Alpha series. Those looks had some distinct changes to Ryu's looks (such as his head band color or the fact he wore red shoes once upon a time,) not to mention Ryu was a lot smaller and more adolescent looking during that time period.

99% of the old-school 80's Joe figures look like they have Down Syndrome. I have zero nostalgia for them. I'm all about the new era stuff.

I mean, look at the difference:

Pre order for guile is now up.

Vamp 05-10-2019 04:11 PM

wow, that Guile figure is everything. Storm is bringing its game on, even other toy companies are starting to copy their different hollow plastic/endo skeleton bodies like 1000 toys did with their recent hellboy. Storm could be the future of action figures and knock down legends and shf. lets see what unfolds then you have mcfarlane coming soon also...perfect time to be a Collector, im glad i waited to collect

Bearjew 05-10-2019 07:08 PM

I am speechless. P.R.E.O.R.D.E.R.E.D.
Does it get any better than this?

OriginalFire 05-10-2019 09:09 PM

I'm so happy that after all these years we are finally getting some really awesome Street Fighter figures. SOTA was good, but not this good. This takes it up a whole notch

I hope so. I really hope there soon is a healthy 3rd party scene for 1:12 scale like there is for transformers and 1:6 scale movie stars.

I haven't really been interested in Storm's previous releases, but Guile and Sagat have roped me in. Much more interested in SF II than SF V.

I'm ordering those two and was also interested in Violent Ken, but saw some reviews that showed a flaw with the mold (how the figure easily splits in two at the waist).

If Storm ever releases a normal SF II Ken and Ryu, I hope they sort that issue out. It's the only thing preventing me from buying a Violent Ken.

Storm is quite good when it comes to improving on flawed designs.

Even between alternate costumes with minimal new tooling, they'd sometimes fix some engineering or production issues.

Good to know. I may just wait for Sagat and Guile, then. Hopefully by then, Storm will have worked out whatever remaining QC issues there are.

BTW, Guile just went up for preorder on BBTS.

Facebook page of storm collectibles has Ken and ryu from street fighter 2 just announced!

Ryu has a new head and hand sculpts. Ken looks to be a repaint of violent Ken.

Augustus_Cole 05-15-2019 03:12 PM

saw them...don't particularly care for them...luckily i can save a few bucks with these two.

Really? Wow. To each their own. I love ryu’s head much better than the sfv head. Almost bought violent Ken on Black Friday to repaint. Now I don’t have to.

I dig what they done with Ken, the Ryu headsculpt does nothing for me. It looks small on the body and is far to angular for my tastes.

A shame they couldn't give us a pony tail head for Ken and a white headband head for Ryu. Would have been an easy way to knock two versions of the character out at once...

And miss out a chance to endlessly sell the same figures over and over again with minor variations?

Yeah it's tough for people who bought Violent Ken (or Evil Ryu) as a stand-in for the regular one.

I'm really happy about these two releases--basically all four SF II characters are coming out in August.

The SF V redesigns never did anything for me, and I've stayed away from Storm Collectible's previous releases as a result. I'd love to see more characters from the SF II game.

Same here. I was bored with Storm's first Ken and Ryu figures, but legit Street Fighter 2-style releases? I will totally buy both of these in a second, as they both look amazing.
