I find this rather convenient, to be honest - especially as the tarrifs are completely uncertain as negotiations are underway as we speak, and right now they are currently capped at 10%. If the company was doing as well as they say, they wouldn't have to immediately let people go like this - it wouldn't be having such an immediate impact on something that is still so uncertain.

Super7 has been failing quite a bit with high profile lines of in-demand licenses that they simply mismanage into failure - people want Trek and Simpsons and Disney - they just are overpriced (all of them), have awful character selection (Simpsons/Disney), and/or are just creative misfires in design (Trek). I mean, who was going to collect one-off Simpsons characters before they even got the main family?

Thundercats and TMNT could only keep them going for so long.

Tony_Bacala 05-27-2025 04:28 AM

Cleaned up nonsense. Was mixed with valid points. Don't have energy to scalpel it so it all got the hammer.

Darth Revan 05-27-2025 11:58 AM

Super 7 would be doing just fine if they didn't waste time and money on properties that nobody cares about like something called MF Doom and various other categories like that.

Tony_Bacala 05-27-2025 12:42 PM

Hehe, I actually am into some of those. MF Doom, Czarface. 10 years ago I would've been into the old school Hip Hop stuff too but my space is tight, I just skipped it all knowing it would eventually just live in a tub.

Dolemite 05-27-2025 04:20 PM

I'm very happy they made MF Doom figures. You losers don't know what you're missing.

JerpJerp 05-27-2025 09:22 PM

Downsizing any toy company and toy jobs is always bad news…tariffs weren’t the problem here like they tried to blame but it must have helped them excuse layoffs without revealing too much. No company wants to admit problems. It’s not good business. Can’t blame them. We obviously all seen it coming and know why for the most part. It’s not all QC or redundancies with the licensing. Didn’t help but it’s us as collectors who had enough. Only so much space and money. Super7 figures are huge and more expensive as a result. It’s not inherently a bad thing. It worked well with MOTU classics. They are awesome figures but that was a different time. Super7 needed to adapt to a changing market, not a failing market, a changing market of over abundance and collecting. If they made those playmates ultimates half the size I’d still be collecting them. Too much space and money. Worrying about the QC and limited articulation didn’t help. Super7 does the lords work with those giant things, I respect it and have much pride in where figures have grown. But it’s ain’t practical anymore. I don’t know what they can do…reaction figs are small but I can’t justify buying with the high cost…I wish all the best of luck to Super7, the toy world wouldn’t be the same without them.

Now that the courts have blocked the majority of Trump's tariffs, is Brian going to hire back the shitloads of Super7 employees he laid off? Kinda doubt it!

Lost their minds

I just have to say the pricing is just insane anymore from Super7, think they are losing their minds thinking the audience is large enough to support this price for essentially a sideways popsicle stick with wings. For that price they are slapping on this vehicle, the figure should be included.

"100" beans...
and "200" beans..
(fig & vehicle)

Is what it is.....
Me guess

All I can say.....

Five hundred dollars for a repaint of something that, if you wanted it, you bought already.

Five. Hundred. Dollars.

Staff Edit: Thread Cleanup.

It makes sense though, just like the repaints they did of the turtle van. The tank was an expensive item and they want to get as much use out of the mold as they can. Honestly I am surprised that Hasbro hasn't done something similar with the Classified HISS, either painting it red or in Python Patrol colors and removing the electronics to differentiate it from the first release and make more money from it.

But really Super7's problems are quality control, and ridiculous pricing compared to the product you receive.

IzzyTipsy 07-14-2025 08:45 AM

$500 for the same crap you already got for $300 or less due to all the clearances of this thing. Just to get that new Panthro.

S7 is a total joke.

Hasbro isn't a complete and miserable failure. At least not yet.

Staff Note: Edited to clean up thread.

500 dollars in the this economy….Lol…I love this thing, but since it seems that toy companies want to choose quantity over quality, I will choose to keep a bigger quantity of my money in my pocket, while judging closely the quality of the toy and making a decision on who gives me the most bang for the buck! Some of these companies I feel are really try to get one over on people in plain sight! Lol!

Dolemite 07-14-2025 04:56 PM

Super7's QC is garbage, and the $500 price point is insane.

Lotsa nonsense in here. Please stop, or else actual infractions, then banning will happen.

There are basically no mods here, just me and occasionally Joe Moore checking in here and there. We will clean up when we see it, but it's not real time. If you continuously need cleaning when we do check in, that's a problem, so just chill out.

Not making this a rule or enforcing it literally, but here's an idea - stop talking about tariffs. Whichever side you are on, just skip it. Not gonna end well. No one who doesn't agree with you will see the light because of your post. It's pointless. Ignore nonsense, report super nonsense, let us scrub it next time we are on.

IzzyTipsy 07-15-2025 03:32 PM

This line must be a winner if they can re-release the Tank. Which given how hard it was to get WilyKit and WilyKat, I can see the logic.

Why is Dolemite allowed to post false news about Tariffs and Super7 but no one is allowed to post corrections. If you're going to allow disinformation than you should just shut the forum down.

If you (or anyone) has questions about staff actions or decisions, please contact me directly via PM, not within threads.

That being said, you (or anyone) are welcome to respond to Dolemite & others, but if the conversation goes down the toilet, the initial offending post and it's responses get wiped, even if there is content within them that otherwise would be fine.

From here, any more questions about this should be directed via Private Message, not here, to keep things on topic in the thread.

BBTS has the first wave of G.I. Joe Ultimates as a daily deal for $55. While it is kind of tempting to get the entire wave for the price that one of the figures were originally, I do not think I want to bother with starting to collect another Joe line in the wrong scale and have to deal with Super7s prices and QC issues.

I own the Voltron and 1989 Batmobile cyborg items from Super7 and there's no way in hell that they are worth over $100. I got them both for about $60. And that's probably what they are worth. The Batmobile does not fit any 3.75 inch figures. Nor does it light up or anything that would legitimately be worth $125. Voltron doesn't light up either and has limited articulation. Super7's msrp prices are trolling. They're pretty cool niche items, but not worth the original price. This tumbler batmobile might fit a 3.75 inch figure or 2. But it is still not worth $150.
