Now that Man of Steel toys are showing up. On youtube and ebay when can we expect official details? For example release dates, assortments, when prototypes will drop in price on ebay.

So here is what I read:

"We know you want the main trio from Voltron, but we don't feel like releasing them because there is no movie coming out anytime soon, and that is the only reason we took up the Voltron license. Don't like it? Tough! You can wait until the next company licenses and makes you buy the lions all over again to see if they will give you the villains. Have a nice day."

... now if you'll excuse us, we have to go over here and pull some more original MOTUC figures out of our asses.

Yes, sadly it has been clear for a while where ToyGuru's true allegiances lie. Really sucks when the voice/face of DC's action figure line is preoccupied with growing his personal MOTUC collection. :/

Dr Kain 12-01-2012 02:33 PM

Well Scott completed his Super Powers orgasm, why would he still care about DCU?

Enigma2K2 12-04-2012 12:05 PM

Is there any chance that we can see a DC Universe Space Ghost figure, or does Jazzwares have the license locked down?

MattyCollector 2012 Q&A Answers- December 15th

CMIII 12-18-2012 08:31 AM

I have three questions..

1) Are there any plans to recontinue the Collect and Connect figures? Hasbro has them with their Marvel Legends series and there are Plenty of Collect and Connect figures fans want from DC like Doomsday, Mr. Atom, and Killer Croc

2) Are there other Lanterns in the Works with Club Infinite Earths or Retail lines? I would like to See Indigo-1, Munk, Bleez, Brother Wrath, and many others from all the other Corps

3) Are there any plans to make Standard sized version (6 inch) of the Oversized and Collect and Connect versions of Gigantia, Apache Chief, and Elastigirl

hrothgars 12-18-2012 10:28 AM

I would love to see a 6-inch Apache Chief. Probably not gonna happen tho. :/

Alboraptor 12-18-2012 11:44 AM

Do you have plans to make "The Real Ghostbusters" 6-inch figures ?

1987olds442 12-23-2012 09:59 PM

My question for Mattel is: What has happened to the white paint and plastic? All the recent figures I would say starting with wave 20, and all throughout the DCIE sub that require white paint and/or plastic has now been replaced with light gray. Why has this been happening? And are we going to be seeing true white paint and plastic again, or are we stuck with the light gray?

Let's see, here is what Mattel's answers would be:

1. We have no plans at this moment to do anymore Collect and Connect figures. If it did well, we would have put more oversized figures in the Club Infinite Earth''s subscription for 2014. Retailers don't want them because it forces them to buy an entire case lot they don't want to commit to anymore.

2. Nothing at this time, but thanks for the suggestion.

3. The only way we could do this logistically is if we were to use slots in the Club Infinite Earths sub. Would you rather have these three or characters that have never been released before?

CMIII 12-25-2012 06:36 AM

#1 - Dealers never were given Full cases Mattel made sure of that, I have yet to find Wave 20 Green and Red Arrow. I bought 70% of wave 20 at Target and easily could have bought many of Sinestro, Reverse Flash, Hawk, Dove, White Lantern Flash and even All Stars Hal Jordan and Yet I'll need to go to Amazon to get the arrows..

#3 - here problem is they are putting out the same characters over and over and over at least in stores I am so tired of seeing Batman, Superman, Green Lantern on the shelf that I refuse to buy them I do not have space to waste on the same figure 9 or 10 times. And yes I would want them in Slots or why would I ask for them

...you really don't understand how retail works, do you?

Retailers can't order "half a case" or some such nonsense. Did it never cross your mind someone bought the figures you never found, before you got there? If not another customer, than an employee?
Because that's how real life works.
As for Number three, Mattel has gone on record many maaaany times that retail is going to focus on the hardcore a-list characters, like multiple batmen and supermen. Why? Because IT SELLS. These are the characters the kids want, who low and behold, are their target customers. It allows them to make money so they can spend money on the CIE, which they said will be getting the characters you and I want. In a perfect world, batman and superman turn up only once in a while, and we would have gotten Wally West years ago, instead of four near identical releases of Barry (Before you get to blue and white lanterns). But the world we live in is the world we have. And Club Infin ite Earths is their solution to continue giving us the c and lower list characters.

Dr Kain gave you exceptionally valid, and extremely polite answers to your common-sense questions.
Everything he said, he hit the nail on the head.

BAD MOON 12-25-2012 01:35 PM

The Castle Grayskull & Snake Mountain stands are awesome! Would it be possible to one day see Crystal Castle stands for our Princess of Power figures, or some Starship Eternia stands for our New Adventures figs? Fright Zone stands would rule too. :)

CMIII 12-25-2012 10:03 PM

please don't get me wrong.. I was just disappointed that I have to order stuff online when it should have been in the stores heck I found Black Canary and Big Barda at Local Targets long after their waves were ended but there were times when figures I am also trying to point out that Buying Online goes easier (though longer) this week alone I picked up Lead, Platinum, Tin, Captain Cold, Abin Sur, (4th or 5th) Hal Jordan, and Gleek where as I haven't bought a DC Figure at any Retail store since May or June

Dr Kain 12-25-2012 11:04 PM

Retail is unfair. You know what I found in a Target without even looking for it? I just waltzed in there to get some food and stopped in the toy isle and found Dr Fate (both), Hawkgirl, Mr Terrific, Vigilante, a few Parademons and most importantly, Gentleman Ghost. I have no idea why they did not have Commander Steel, but I had just gotten back into the line and grabbed all of them, only to find out about 8 months later that Gentleman Ghost was rarely seen in stores.

freakout117 12-25-2012 11:22 PM

I found a gentleman ghost, but some asshole removed the BAF figure and tried to cover the back up with a poster of dc comics.

CMIII 12-26-2012 05:37 AM

maybe we need a Tread about store issues. I bought a Golden Pharoah Walmart the Cosmic Staff was missing.

Tiberius 12-26-2012 07:27 AM

I love how butt hurt a few of you guys get for some one just asking a question. Fucking deal with it.

sounds like a person bought the figure because they lost the BAF Lower Torso and/or Head of Gigantia then simply reseald the package and returned it to the store

How about a batmobile subscription service, like one or two a year, able to hold atleast two figures (DCUC scale as the max size). Or DC universe vehicle subcription service.

Yep. They need a Bat-Vehicle subscription. Several Batmobiles, motorcycles for the whole Bat-family, Batwing, Batboat, Whirly-Bat, BatRocket. . .they can make vehicles for MOTUC I don't see why they don't for DCUC.

Then a Hall of Justice and/or Watchtower one-off like they're doing for Castle Greyskull. And a Batcave.

When will the dye issues on WWE Elite figures be resolved? If the company is trying to cut cost by not washing excess Chinese dyes off then why not just discard the entire accessory? The dyes stain and ruin the figures. ALL cloth accessories not colored white have bled into the figures and ruined them. This is a major issue in the WWE figure collecting community. Would it not be possible to simply make the accessories in a soft plastic like others? The Elite line is becoming less and less appealing due to this issue. Consumers do not want to have their pants pulled down over your over inflated prices only to receive a ruined figure.

Known Figures to be highly effected. ((If figure is still MOC it's a safe paint that underneath that bubble the figure is ruined. Collectors that opened and removed the accessories or rinsed them off seem to be fine.))

Series 1
Ricky the Dragon Steamboat, Dusty Rhodes, Rowdy Roddy Pier with Cowboy Bob Orton 2 pack, Nikolai Volkoff

Series 2
Rick Rude, Iron Sheik

Series 4
Paul Orndorff

Series 5 Rick Martel

Series 6
Kerry Von Erich (WCCW)

Matty Exclusives
Andre, Bundy

So it IS a bit of a problem. I can also supply pictures, of -examples-. This is JUST the legends as well. I've not supplied a list of the Elites that have this problem.
