I heard that in the Facebook video too but I don't know. You can see Iron Man in the Homecoming trailer and he looks like he's wearing the MK. 46 armor from Civil War. The paint job on the Iron Man from the ML two pack looks more like it was inspired by Ultimate Iron Man.

Haha yeah pretty much.

As for the announcements....very few on my want list. Adam Warlock is a definite yes. I have always dug the Cosmic Spidey look so I will probably grab him too. Modern Moon Knight and Netflix DD look cool too.

Most will probably be in the "if I can get them for at least half off" camp as very few held any huge interest for me. I would have liked the Mantis figure but not if I have to pay full price for the rest of the wave. Even as a huge Guardians fan I am just not all that into the movie figures.

Looks like Star Lord is going to be joining the Iron Man, Cap, Wolverine, Spidey have to be in every wave camp. Counting the two pack from EE that is what, three movie Star Lord figures this year? Yeah...no thanks.

Well that's lame. Why bother even announcing them now then if they aren't ready to be shown off?

Considering that both this figure and the LEGO minifig for this Ultimates-inspired armor in the movie seem to just be the Mark 46 with different colors, I'm thinking that might be exactly it. If the Mark 46 has the shapeshifting capabilities of the comics armor it's based on, maybe it also has color-shifiting abilities...?

Dude...relax. Hasbro does this **** all the time. Remember a year or two ago when they were introducing new figures one at a time by slipping a new one into the display each day of the conventions? It wouldn't surprise me if they are pulling the same stunt again.

Mantis looks great, and it's nice to see Rocket actually have some articulation this time around, as well as a pissed off expression as opposed to the sad, neutered raccoon we got the last time.

The Tom Holland head sculpt looks terrific as well. If that comes with the the Iron Man two pack, I may have to pick that one up after all as opposed to just getting the Ultimates Suit loose like I wanted, because it looks terrific.

What in the world is that bearded head next to Cosmic Spidey? Is that supposed to be a beatnik, yuppie version of Peter Parker?

Iron Man has gotten a new armor in every film he's appeared in so he likely upgrades. As Jedd mentioned, both Funko and Lego are doing toys of the same design, so it's really unlikely all three companies coincidentally decided to make toys of an armor that doesn't exist in the movie.

Ah, I stand corrected. I haven't seen the Funko version yet but I did go back and look at the Lego set with Iron Man you're definitely right about the armor.

The unmasked Peter head is from the recent Spider-verse storyline.

Marvelfangirl 02-18-2017 03:26 PM

Also really digging Gamora and Rocket! This news is so exciting! :D

ariellagunas 02-18-2017 03:48 PM

My biggest want was Mantis. I would of course prefer the comic version, but the movie one will be a place holder for now, as it's pretty close to the original.

I am very thrilled with all the reveals, and I would bet Ex Nihilo is the BAF not Mantis, but I want both, so it's a win win.
Time to make some more room for ML in my cabinets...

Yeah, but the 2 packs were the best announcements and those are what I want to see more than anything else. I'm excited is all.

SymbiSpidey 02-18-2017 03:59 PM

I have to admit Hasbro's kinda losing me on some of their character selection. 3 releases of movie Star Lord and Spider-Man this year? That's overkill.

They clarified in the Facebook video Mantis is indeed the baf. I'm guessing it's to offset the cost of doing so many new sculpts for the movie characters. Nebula, Yondu, Rocket and Mantis are all new sculpts, and does anyone know if Star-Lord or Gamora are reuses of the previous figs?

Agree. it would have been very nice for one of the Star Lords to be a Quasar....

Just got Star Lord yesterday and he's completely new. As far as I can tell, Gamora is completely new as well.

I hear you though. I hate the slow tease, because I've been dying for a Legends Mary Jane figure since I bought my very first Legends Spider-Man. With the way Hasbro's been killing it with the female Legends as of late, I really feel she could be special.

I really hate the BS "no photo" rule as well. If you don't want people to know about it because of spoilers, then don't show it at the stupid convention, simple as that.

Agreed. This MAY be my final year collecting Legends if this keeps up. There are only so many versions of Cap, Spider-Man, and Iron Man that I justify. I get that the new movie is coming out, but this push on Star Lord is ridiculous as well. There really is no need for a re-release (the EGO two pack) as well as a new one with long jacket and douchebag facial expression.

Gamora is almost an entirely new sculpt. The new Star-Lord (wave 2) incorporates parts from the current one, with a new jacket (which might be identical to the one from the first figure, I haven't really compared...) and hands. Oh yeah...and a new "douchebag" head sculpt.

Spyne98 02-18-2017 04:23 PM

Pretty happy with what they showed today. I'll be able to save a little money if nothing else. That Adam Warlock coming with Magus head is perfect! I'll need 2 of him.

jwyss234 02-18-2017 04:25 PM

Was looking on Fwoosh and they had some more information from the Marvel Panel.

The A-Force box set will have Pulse (Monica Rambeau), Sif, Lady Loki, She-Hulk, Singularity, and Elsa Bloodstone.

They also say that the Vulture/Spiderman 2 pack will be Ultimate Vulture.

Kingpin won't be the BAF for the Netflix wave. The BAF will be a large comic book character. There will also be two more figures in the Netflix wave.

But didn't they say, in the presentation, that Squirrel Girl was in the box set? Not that I mind - that roster is even more appealing (ELSA!)

There is apparently going to be a Deadpool Legends wave so that may be where the Squirrel Girl figure.

Are you sure? I know Deadpool is getting a re-release by himself but an entire wave?

A re-release by himself? Are you sure you weren't looking at the 12" Deadpool?

Brownfinger 02-18-2017 04:58 PM

It's a good thing that I really like that entire wave, because needing them all to have Mantis is brutal. Rocket looks perfect, really glad how he turned out.
Elsa Bloodstone and Monica Rambeau, never thought I'd see the day.

So happy. :D
