So I went to four Targets today and not a single one of them had anything new. I did memorize how many X-Men figure each Target had so that when I am looking on Brickseek I'll know if a new case came in if they have 8 more than what each one has. Like one Target had 3 of Cable, Phoenix, Havok, and Iceman. Therefore, they'll have to have 20 or more listed on Brickseek if they got in another case.

MeLikeJinx 02-19-2017 06:23 PM

X-men wave 2 is out in the wild already?

And I went back to Walgreens and bought Chris Pratt... so now I have him and Angela from that wave, so guess I'm done until I see Shatterstar.

Just a Question. Why would there be a COSMIC Spiderman? Being COSMIC is way beyond what Spiderman could do. Kinda made no sense to even have the name Spider in your Identifying name being COSMIC. You could literally do anything and doing something that a Spider could do would seem very Sub par in the Cosmic sense.

This happened back in the 90s, you ever saw the old covers if him flying and one of him picking up grey hulk over his head ?

There was also a "what if?" story about Peter keeping the power and struggling with it.

YES !!!! Not sure i still have that one anymore but i do remember that.

I for one am at least happy to see Hasbro is making these never done before spider-man figures.

Some people are getting tired of constant Spider people in the Spider-Man Legends waves, and I understand that; but I've always loved them, and am open to more, whether they're variant costumes or alternate versions of Peter himself, or other people from the main or alternate universes with Spider powers. Bring on Armored Spider-Man, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Punk, and more!

That's why they make different waves of figures of different characters. so there is something for everyone.

Exactly. I think people's complaints are more that they "steal spots" in the wave for "more deserving" characters, like Spidey villains we haven't gotten before or in a long time, which I understand, but some of them act like nobody wants these variant and alternate Spider-people, which simply isn't true.

i got into legends, i'd say in 2014. i was estatic when they released his then current look ( Ramos look ), 2099, then later on scarlet spider, sensational, and just as of recently the black costume. which is my absolute favorite.

i also want to see more villians, however they have a ton more to go, and im sure we should get them.

Captain Nash 02-19-2017 09:40 PM

I'm one of those "tired of Spider-man" collectors, but I also know he is Marvel's #1 character. (feel free to disagree, you're wrong though.) So I get why they put out so many different versions of him. If Legends had been done during the 90's we would have also seen a boatload of Wolverine figures every year, as that may have been the only decade Spider-Man didn't have a clear #1 character spot at Marvel, I'd say. I'd go to comic book stores and people would be complaining about Wolverine's overexposure. Yes, a different medium, but when you get down to it, the actual complaint is no different.

I personally just don't have any interest in any more Peter Parker Spider-Man figures, but it's not like I think nobody does. So I can pass on them and they can get them, all is fair and fine with me.

I do have an interest in other non-Peter Parker Spider-men figures and villains as well, so those waves still can be of interest to me, depending on the figures.

Toy wise spider-man is their bread and butter. That will not change. However currently in the comics. The oversaturation is currently with deadpool....

Let's also not forget they make how many different iron man, captain america and war machine variations as well. Hasbro makes what will make them money.

Plus, not only are there constantly people new to collecting this line (to whom older versions of those big-name characters might be slightly harder to obtain), some of whom might only start collecting due to one of those characters being a Legends figure readily available on the pegs as kind of a "gateway drug" to collecting Marvel Legends, but a good portion of Legends sales still come from kids as well, who are more likely to buy a Captain America or Iron Man than, say, Eel.

I wouldn't have a problem with there being so many Spideys if they were doing classic villains too. The Sandman wave did not need 3 different Spideys in it. I also don't get why they felt the need to give us Spider Britain when Noir is a far more popular character.

Lastly, I do feel it is kind of insulting that a comic version of Vulture has to be reduced to a nearly impossible to find Walmart exclusive while Beetle gets a third iteration.

The Sandman wave didn't have Silk in it; she was part of the Space Venom wave.

Oops, my bad, you're right. It had Shocker. No idea why I just had that mega brain fart. Still, three Spideys for one wave is insane.

Beetle only got this far because people wouldn't shut up about it. They even mentioned it on one of the Toy Fair videos that Beetle was done because a bunch of people complained that they'd done Ultimate Beetle (who in my mind looks way cooler) but not the classic version.

kenm2474 02-20-2017 07:47 AM

Crap I so Wanted that new Marvel Legends Thor until I found out he was a 12" Figure. We so need a New Thor.

That's technically not the classic one. The classic one has the long fingers with suction cups on the end of them.

Which makes no sense. Beetle is a lame villain and only showed up in Spider-Man in a Human Torch crossover issue as he is a Human Torch villain, NOT a Spider-Man one. Why not give us Prowler or Smythe instead?

It's the original guy, though I think. His fans kept complaining that Hasbro did the Ultimate one and the female one before the original and the execs mentioned that's why this one is finally coming out. Plus I suspect they're gonna reuse some parts from it for a new classic Iron Man. The chest reminds me a lot of his.

Case in point, some people were surprised that Wolverine was one of the biggest sellers from the Juggernaut wave.

They talked about it in the con video where they mentioned they try to find a balance between fan favorites the collectors have been asking for and what they know is gonna sell regardless (A-listers and movie figures) to a casual crowd. I assume the latter helps offset the former.

I hear what you are trying to say, although what I think is pretty interesting is that for all the complaining we do about there being yet another Spider-Man in the wave, these are not the figures that are peg warming (outside of the Spider Women.) It has been the supporting characters like Speed Demon, Beetle, Morbius, and Misty Knight that have been clogging up shelves over the past two years. Pizza and Symbiote Spidey were two of the most sought-after Spider-Man figures in years, and the teen Spider-Men we're really difficult to find as well. And these figures were all double packed of all things. And the newer Spider-Man figures are moving as well it would seem, as I haven't even run into a Spider UK or the new 2099 yet despite having seen the rest of the wave in the wild a few times. So while we are groaning about yet another Spider-Man, they move, and again it does say that that maybe we're going about about this all wrong.

At least these "new" Spider-Man characters, as nuanced as they are, are actual characters, and are not kiddie gimmick characters like Water Warrior or Sky Surfing Spider-Man

hasbroherofan 02-20-2017 09:32 AM

I remember wanting to yell when I saw my Target had Ultimate Peter and Miles and then when I went back the next day they were both gone.
