Pretty cool haul! IMO. From a couple of sellers on eBay very cheap compared to what they go for now!

True...I like Danny and he'd be a great choice. For this role though, I'd prefer Mickey Rourke. IMO

Went shopping for a few Pops today, decided to extend my search radius, and I finally found Chewie. Yep, lol, you read that correctly !
This notorious peg-warmer has been tough to find in my area lately.

He peg-warmed in my area for a few months, so I decided to wait to buy him, and all of a sudden, after The Force Awakens premiered, he was absolutely nowhere to be found.
Since he doesn't seem to be included in any upcoming waves, I was worried that the window of opportunity to find him may be closing, so I've been checking outlying Walgreens, where I finally found him.

Damn...this is turning out to be a great day...My wife just came back from Target and she didn't come back empty handed...

...I don't care if Monday's blue
Tuesday's gray and Wednesday too
Thursday I don't care about you
It's Friday I'm in love

Monday you can fall apart
Tuesday Wednesday break my heart
Thursday doesn't even start
It's Friday I'm in love

Saturday wait
And Sunday always comes too late
But Friday never hesitate

I don't care if Monday's black
Tuesday Wednesday heart attack
Thursday never looking back
It's Friday I'm in love

Monday you can hold your head
Tuesday Wednesday stay in bed
Or Thursday watch the walls instead
It's Friday I'm in love

Saturday wait
And Sunday always comes too late
But Friday never hesitate

Dressed up to the eyes
It's a wonderful surprise
To see your shoes and your spirits rise
Throwing out your frown
And just smiling at the sound
And as sleek as a shriek
Spinning round and round
Always take a big bite
It's such a gorgeous sight
To see you in the middle of the night
You can never get enough
Enough of this stuff
It's Friday
I'm in love...

Chewie was never easy to find in my area and it's not for a lack of stocking. A lot of people realized that they liked the head-sculpt on this Chewie a lot more than the original and he actually ended up being demanded a good deal more than many had anticipated. Finn on the other hand does peg-warm like freaking crazy but they repack him into every other wave anyway, there's a new clone army and its name is Finn.

Lol, yeah, I flat-out refuse to buy Finn at this point, because I know that eventually, Amazon will have him available for under $10, and I can swing by any Target or Wal-Mart, pick the best looking one from the multiple Finns available, and have them do a price match.
Around here, he's peg-warming FAR worse than Greedo or even Obi-Wan.

It still frustrates and confounds me that in this day and age, when SOOOO many film franchises, ranging from obscure cult favorites to huge blockbusters, have had amazing action figure lines, that the BttF trilogy has never had a toy line !

Lol, and I don't count the BttF Funko ReAction figures !
In all honesty, I have the ReAction Marty and I plan on picking up Doc and maybe George (because I'm desperate for BttF figures), but yeah, they are an unsatisfying substitute.

EDIT: Oh yeah, sure, there are Minimates and the Hot Toys stuff, but the Minimates are about as satisfying as the ReAction figures, and the Hot Toys figures, while absolutely amazing, are a whole other type of collectible, and just aren't the same as having a great 3 3/4" or 6" line of figures and in-scale vehicles.

snake5289 01-22-2016 05:44 PM

Agreed. 3 of the greatest movies of all time but they can't get the same kind of treatment as Ghostbusters? BttF is way more deserving if you ask me.

The Thing is another movie I'd throw into this category.

McFarlane tried showing the Thing some love years ago and apparently it didn't go over too well. NECA has been asked about it before and, according to Randy (who I'd trust), the sales from McFarlane were too weak to justify further exploration at least as far as the monsters are concerned.

So true !
As a kid, I longed for the day that I'd open the packaging to a new Kenner vehicle, and when the requisite Kenner catalog (oh, how I LOVED those Kenner catalogs...) fell out of the box, the catalog would include a line of Back to the Future figures, complete with the DeLorean, and maybe, just maybe, even Doc's locomotive time machine...

As a kid, that didn't seem entirely implausible, lol !
Back in the late '80's / early 90's, Kenner was releasing unexpected, and sometimes ridiculous, action figure lines like Bill & Ted, Beetlejuice, and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, so BttF figures seemed well within the realm of possibility.

PlayTime 01-22-2016 06:04 PM

What annoys me is that the trilogy has yet to receive a proper release without a ton of DNR and EE (edge enhancement), essentially making everything look waxy.

Two down, two to go. Also picked up Transformers Combiner Wars Ironhide but I can't even get a half decent photo of him.

Kernel 01-23-2016 01:00 AM

I found Rey and ren at Wally world. It's nice to finally find some 3.75" force awakens figures that don't have articulation from 1977:

Nice! I picked up that thor figure a while back at a discount store and he is one of my all time favorite Thor figs. He is a huge beast, he even towers over some of my 7" scale toys.

Thanks. Yes he is a beast. The box of the pack is huge. When it was delivered yesterday, I didn't know it was the 5 packs, lol.

yea i know they made diecast versions and hot wheels of the delorean but nothing comes close to actual action figures that would fit in them imo heh

oh and dont forget the pop vinyls of course lol :P

I can attest to that. I tried selling both the Norris and Blair Things on eBay several times and nobody bit. Ah well, I've still got 'em if anybody wants them :D
