Wishlist for wave 2: Connie, Peridot, Lapis, Jasper. I don't know if Funko do larger scale pop vinyls but if they do, it would be great to see fusions like Opal and Sugilite in a larger scale.

They have more but those are just the 6" ones that I have

wolverine2281 01-25-2016 03:23 AM

probably easier to see the scale next to the regular pops lol

lordbest 01-25-2016 04:14 AM

Awesome, hope they make some for the Steven Universe line then.

If I hear anything I'll try and remember to let you know. I usually post this stuff on my instagram

Weekend pickups. I think I am going to regret starting Pop collecting.

I'm weary of it myself. I keep wanting to order a POP! Batman Beyond but I don't want to get addicted because it'll only be a matter of time before I'll want to add to it.

BlackRazor 01-25-2016 12:56 PM

Just curious, but what's the allure of POP's?

I saw a father say he played with his kids & their POP's - are they bobble heads? To me they seem more for display over play.

They must sell pretty well, saw a bunch @ Barnes & Noble the other day.

The pops that are of Marvel and Star Wars characters are Bobble heads, but the rest are not.
I get pops but only of characters that I like. I will never be a completest when it comes to pops. My pop collection looks like a pop culture explosion.

I'm generally not sure. They're just static pieces of vinyl (as the name gives away) except for the bobble heads. Normally I pretty much completely dislike them on account of the fact that they have zero likeness so beyond the clothes and/or hair they're indistinguishable from one another. To date I've only bought three: baby Groot as a gift for my mom in 2014, and the Bioshock Big Daddy and Songbird. It's worth noting that baby Groot is possibly the most accurate Pop since he actually had those little black beady eyes while the Big Daddy and Songbird (Jumbo Pops) don't have actual faces so they don't suffer that stupid blank look.

They made the cloak too smooth especially around his face reckoning which depiction they were using as their source and then it doesn't sit all the way down on his shoulders. I'm hoping they might do his recent Mr Knight look, a Select figure of that would be a must buy for me.

I see you scored with that Moon Knight # 1, very nice sir !! i also am in need of a Moon Knight Figure. the select one looks awesome, however those are damn near impossible to find and i hear they are pricey nowadays.

As far as Marvel canceling the Iron Fist show on Netflix, i was always under the impression there was going to be a Heroes for Hire series, with both Luke Cage and iron fist.

we'll see what happens i guess.

I think SOME of the pops are cool, mine have never left their boxes, they're more for like a display around my office/comic/toy room.

Yes, I thought the same thing.

OK that makes sense, that's why I was surprised to hear that father say he liked playing with them & I wondered what I was missing?

Thanks for all 3 responses.

Not sure myself, it's not as if they have movable features do they? Funko is making a killing off of them for collector's sake. If anything I do agree, I would think it's more for the display appeal.

Exactly! If you take it out of the box, that's pretty much it.

I enjoy the creativity of the posters here in the poses of their action figures but setting these guys up for similar shots would be like displaying book ends.

I've wanted to get the Batman Beyond POP mainly because I love the character and I thought it'd be cool to have sitting on my desk. But then I feel like I'd also want to get characters like Ant-Man and Harley Quinn for the same reason and then it would just start spiraling from there.

I love that BB POP. It is the only one that I have. I don't really like the way the POP's look, but like you, I really love the character. And I actually really like that BB POP.

I actually don't recall Iron Fist ever officially being declared to be one of the Netflix shows but I kinda always figured he'd be in the Luke Cage show anyway as his best friend and crime-fighting buddy. I think it will be a little strange seeing how all of the Netflix shows culminate into the announced Defenders series since so far both shows have a very solo-act feel to the hero, like joining forces as a team would be unnecessary.

that's actually what happened to me.... started by getting a batman beyond Mettalic special edition pop, and then from there on, i started to get more and more. like i said i probably might have abouy 12 or less. what hooks people or me specifically is when you see these fancy limited edition ones, those are the ones that i try to grab when i see them.

well it would make sense, considering the new power man and iron fist series is being release this febuary. I'm honestly shocked i never heard of an upcoming Moon Knight netflix series that someone else mentioned on here.

No no no there isn't any Moon Knight series confirmed yet, though it does seem to be a favorite among fans and even some people who make the shows as the idea for who they should include next.

I bought the Steven Universe ones because they are basically the only SU merchandise available, and the aesthetic doesn't clash too badly with the cartoon look. I don't know what their broad appeal is either, but clearly I'm not the intended market for them.
