I just checked yesterday and I think I'm near 300 Pops

I saw a father say he played with his kids & their POP's - are they bobble heads? To me they seem more for display over play.

They must sell pretty well, saw a bunch @ Barnes & Noble the other day.

Ha! Ha! I don't particularly like them, but I have a friend that keeps giving them to me as gifts. He comes over to my house fairly often too, so I leave them out on display so I don't hurt his feelings.

They are easy to find and it seems like it would be easy to complete a small collection. I've been to some stores where it looks like they have full sets of the Next Generation crew from Star Trek and the entire Jim Lee era X-Men lineup for instance. There aren't many toy lines where you can complete a team in one shot. Plus, they're relatively inexpensive. If they did actually look like the actors they were based on, Funko would have to pay for likeness rights and the figures would be a lot more expensive. Also, they probably wouldn't have nearly as many licenses as they do if they actually looked like the actors they were based on.

I personally don't get the attraction, but more power to you if you are into them.

The only time I almost tried to buy one of the Funko Pop was at SDCC. It's the Slimer 2-pack. Never really had a chance since every single year, the lines are crazy even compared to the Hasbro booth. And I would occasionally see a few of em on sale at Barnes and Noble for around $3-$5 but never really bothered in getting em.

New hauls

Know what you mean & same here - some products I'm just surprised @ their popularity.

Toonstrack 01-26-2016 08:17 AM

I like the Pops because they are nice little figures and because since there are so many exclusives and rarities its enjoyable to hunt for certain ones. Also they can be worth quite a bit of money.

I'm with you. I have a couple that I liked when I saw them, and a couple bought as gifts, but I'm not a fan.

I hated them. Their beady eyes creeped-me-out. But then there were a few I wanted, Jawa, Cylon, etc. I have friends that collect them, and finally I took the plunge. Only the Marvel and Star Wars ones are Bobbleheads, the rest are vinyl figures. I guess I don't mind them because I have been getting the "smurf"figure like figures of other lines.

I totally forgot to take a picture of the figure in package, but the last figure I bought before getting stuck at home in this blizzard is the BVS armored Superman figure

and my video review sucks, I kept getting interrupted while making the video, and i don't know how to put parts of videos together, or even PAUSE the video as i am recording. You think that Apple would actually put a PAUSE button on their video recording app

that's actually what happened to me.... started by getting a batman beyond Mettalic special edition pop, and then from there on, i started to get more and more. like i said i probably might have abouy 12 or less. what hooks people or me specifically is when you see these fancy limited edition ones, those are the ones that i try to grab when i see them.

Are there any "rare ones" then on the after market that go for triple digits like how some figures are...

I have heard of some going for somwhere in the hundreds price range...

TomsToyChest 01-26-2016 04:54 PM

I picked up the Sphero BB-8 app-enabled droid today at Best Buy since it went on sale:

http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/...pscqadf79c.jpg

It's an interesting gadget, particularly when it twitches and turns its head for a few minutes while it's on its charging dock. I was also glad to see that the app wasn't as complex to learn as I was lead to believe.

PlayTime 01-26-2016 06:16 PM

With so many of these things, how do you remember which ones you have.
I know if I had as many as some, every now and then I'd buy a dupe and not know it until I got it home.

I use my website as a guide :) (the link I posted earlier). Same for everything else in my collection. Also use Google Keep's checklists for ones I need. I only keep checklists for Marvel and SW though.

Look what I found at TRU today:

http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...pshh870pjg.jpg

They actually had all 7 and an extra Cap, but those are the only ones I wanted.

Emikd 01-27-2016 12:02 AM

WOW! Great score!
Crap that means I'm searching thru all the nearby TRU's this weekend now lol

Sorry for the proceeding dump but I haven't posted some newness in a while and it's been a pretty decent few weeks (way more than above average)

So in no particular order
Scored some Injustice 2 packs (now only needing Superman/Nightwing) for the set.

My local Wal Mart just got a shipment of the new Marvel 3.75 line and I couldn't pass up Spidey Noir nor Captain Marvel.

Scored an Play Arts Kai Alien Lurker No. 1 (damaged box got him for $40!)

After seeing the New Batmobile I wanted to try the TAS line.
Love the sculpts but a little dissapointed with Bats. One of his legs is wobbly right out of the box ( I heard this was a issue in the earlier releases but was hoping it would be fixed...speaking of which, what are the best ways to tighten it?)

Saw the new Power Rangers Movie line (as originally done in 1995) so I had to get the Pink one to start.

Was at a local collector convention and someone had Stikfas!! Love that line! also scored that Takara Microman Catwoman and Batman set.

Mega Bloks Turtle Line is ok so far but only really digging the collector line.

Love my Neca Scream and Godzilla.

Mattel stuff...so underwhelmed with the BVS line. The Movie Masters line seems better but still not so great. In all honesty, the Bat Man 12" Dlx from Mattel is the best of the whole line. The Multiverse line, the DCD versions of Arrow and Flash are way better.

Sorry for the long post btw.

NICE!!..i didn't want any from the absorbing man wave..but i def want some of these...plus of course the BAF..
Wonder why they were released so close to the other set..
and how come you didn't grab the rest for me...i thought we was cool man...smh..
