Oh, I'm planning way ahead. I've been building a shed out in the backyard using boxes that shipped large purchases - HISS, (soon) Dragonfly, Batmobile boxes...it'll be a real nice pad to keep me from hypothermia over the winter.

flansered 11-07-2024 03:27 PM

I got an email today that said the label for my Dragonfly has been created. So now I have to figure out what I am going to do with that.

Dr Kain 11-10-2024 11:14 AM

So my Dragonfly just randomly showed up. No email saying it was shipped. Nothing in Pulse saying it was shipped. Even my FedEx account shows I haven't had anything shipped through them in two months.

diablogunner 11-11-2024 08:01 AM

My Dragonfly is supposed to arrive today! Oh cannot wait!

Atomsmasher 11-11-2024 03:27 PM

My told me it was preparing to ship. Than it arrived without warning. Some warning is that it showed up Sunday cause fedex didn't reach us saturday. They left us one of those tags figured it had to be for the dragonfly. I dont regulary use fedex.

Dragonfly came yesterday…Been busy, but will open it this evening after work…The box is huge and has some weight to it!

diablogunner 11-14-2024 10:06 AM

Got mine Monday night, have only had time to open the figures so far and they are great. Looking like tomorrow night before I have time to actually get into the Dragonfly itself!

flansered 11-15-2024 07:22 AM

I got the new Storm Shadow last night. It's weird that he came with the backpack that came with the Night Creeper and the compound bow from the Shadow Tracker instead of a backpack and bow that are designed to work together. And it's weirder cause that pack has extrusions to hold swords that are not included with this figure. At least this figures hands are able to hold the Wolverine claws, so at least it is better than Raptor.

Could anyone let me know if the: G.I. Joe classifieds are the same size as the: Masters Of The Universe Cartoon Collection figures? - I'd love to know how they measure up (in reality) (I know they're both supposed to be 6"). A photo of them together would be amazing.

I am really thankful to you for that. Thank you so much for taking the time to do it. (I love the backdrop too!)

It's just as I suspected... They are both said to be 6" figures but the G.I. Joe one is clearly a lot bigger. I do wish they would provide more accurate measurements. Using millimeters instead of inches for such small objects wouldn't be a bad start to that.

I'm still searching then for action figures I can team with the Masters Of The Universe ones.

Again, thank you.

.

Thats because the Origins figurs are 5.5inches, while GI Joe Classified is like 6.5.

Using MM would be confusing as hell. It's already annoying when I see Japanese sites tell me a figure in MM and I have to go and look up what size that is in inches.

I'm not talking about origins. I'm talking about the cartoon collection (if you read what I wrote).
The cartoon collection and G.I. Joe figures are both 'claimed' to be 6" figures (and are not).

Confusing for you or not - smaller subjects are better dealt with with smaller sizing methods. Measuring small action figures with inches is a bit like using an ice-pick to remove a skelf from one's finger. - It's overkill because it's rounding (already small objects) off to the nearest inch, and that inch makes a lot of difference.

Is there a difference between Cartoon Collection and Origins?

GI Joe is the 6inch scale though.

I'm also confused on why you would want to use a form of measurement that is taught in one math unit that lasts about a week compared to the other 35ish weeks.

That's a matter of opinion. The metric system is easier to deal with if you grew up with it. Americans have been trained in the US Customary system. I have no problems at all using increments as small 32s. I work in design so many things are converted to decimal anyway and I've memorized the conversions. Stating we have to round things off to "the nearest inch" isn't accurate.

MOTU figures are shorter. Not smaller. They are much more strongly built than Classified and a totally different design style. The only MOTU that seems like it may work with Classified, and blend stylistically, is Masterverse New Eternia. But the majority of those figures are larger than Classified.

Having read the latest comments directed at me I don't find them worth replying too...

Take care... And stay away from DIY. ;)

SHEMAN 01-08-2025 11:22 AM

If anyone could message me letting me know how to block trolls (or people whose lives are seemingly ruined because someone wants mm instead of inches) (etc) please let me know? :)

Thank you.

Spoon 01-08-2025 11:29 AM

Anything based in the MOTU Origins scale is 5.5 inch, same as vintage.

I think some of the confusion might be coming from the fact that the Cartoon Collection figures stand taller. This is because they have longer torsos and their thighs and knees have been redone and can stand up straighter. Here's a comparison shot.

The second issue is that although figures are stated to be in a certain scale, they unfortunately sometimes skew to one side or the other. S.H. Figuarts are closer to true 1/12 scale (6 inch) versus something a little larger but also 1/12 scale like Marvel Legends or Classified. Let's not even talk about Storm Collectibles "1/12" :p

So the Cartoon Collection Figures might work with true 1/12 6 inch Scale figures but are a little undersized for something that's closer to 6.25+ inch Scale. Currently your best bet would be custom Joes on smaller 1/12 scale bodies. Maybe Sigma 6 figures would work, but they're stylized and I'm unsure on the scale.

SHEMAN 01-08-2025 11:30 AM

Got it, both on ignore.

What I'm saying is that Origins and Cartoon Collection AND G.I. Joe figures are both billed (by the manufacturers and selling outlets) as being 6", and they aren't, but in using inches they can get away with rounding it to the nearest inch. And yes; the Cartoon Collection figures are about half an inch bigger than the origins figures (but (again) billed as being the same size).

Those half inches and inches matter a lot to people like myself who create dioramas, construct their own buildings/vehicles, use clothing items on them, interchange them, fashion furnishings to the relevant sizes (etc). 6 inches SHOULD be 6 inches, and mm are a more sensible alternative to inches (based upon the small scale of the figures) for accuracy. - And despite what one of the professing 'teachers' says above - it isn't difficult to work out millimeters or use a calculator... Deary me... But those guys MUST be trolling... No rational mind would care so much about such an insignificance. (So I've blocked them).

The manufacturers could NOT create these action figures using: 'inches', because they are simply not precise enough for such a small scale. - Smaller measures are used and it wouldn't hurt to give their customers who are interested in more accuracy/better stats when it comes to the measurements... They will have very accurate measurements already of every body-part and the information would be handy and I'd like it to be made available... Right down to the nano millimetres haha. - It can mean the difference between sale or no sale for many of us.

Instead of this the manufacturers (clearly) round the measurements off to the nearest inch. So for example; a 14mm, 15mm, 16mm, 17mm could be billed as being 7 inches. The difference between those millimetres (as we can clearly see from the photo of skeletor standing next to G.I. Joe), can be close to a whole inch.

If people don't care about that, then that's fine. - But I do. So... Let me be, and you guys stick to your big inches (if that's what floats your boats) lol. I have no idea why people get their knickers in a twist over someone elses' preference. For goodness sake, I'm HAPPY for you all who love your (claimed) six inch toys... Now go find something to do to make more use of your free time!

I will check out the Sigma 6 figures... Thank you for that recommendation!

Thank you.

The only troll is the whacko wanting to use MM for toys and acting like a bitch beccause they were disagreed with.

EDIT: lol The snowflake apparently ignored me because I disagreed with him on using MM. Who the fuck uses MM for toys????
