And yes; the Cartoon Collection figures are about half an inch bigger than the origins figures (but (again) billed as being the same size)...

I understand what you're saying and have experienced the same struggles as you when it comes to scale. I was trying to provide examples to help.

However vintage MOTU and MOTU Origins + related Lines have always been billed as 5.5 inches in scale, (139.7 mm), never 6 inch. That is 1/16 scale versus 6 inch (152.4 mm) 1/12 scale. Unless I'm missing something? This is from the Mattel Shop and it states 5.5 inch scale in the Title and below in the Product Details. Maybe they are advertised somewhere else in a different way and I missed that?

One thing I did forget to mention is that Mondo will also be releasing a 6 inch scale MOTU line, but they will be pricey and may skew more towards 200X designs.

That's interesting, because regardless if Mattel is advertising their Origins or Cartoon Collection Masters line as: 6" or: 5.5"... It doesn't matter, because BOTH are wrong.

I've got He-man Origins and He-man Cartoon Collection in front of me right now and I'm measuring them as we speak.

You say the manufacturers claim 5.5", but in reality; the Origins is closer to: 6", and the Cartoon Collection is just over: 6".

All in all there is about a cm (almost half an inch in difference). (Sadly I can't post a photo because I don't use any websites where I could upload one too).

Anyway... Regardless... Better sizing wouldn't hurt for some of us who would like it.

Managed to upload a photo demonstrating my point.

This was supposed to be an edited post I have no idea why it keeps making new ones, sorry! Still getting to grips with this.

Thanks for the pic and you're not wrong. I too was over here measuring my figures, lol. The added height is definitely from the bodies being retooled.

Part of the problem comes from Manufacturers, Vendors, and Collectors mixing up Scale versus Height Measurements. They get used interchangeably and at times when they shouldn't. Like you stated you'll see Classified advertised as 6 inch, but they mean Scale not actual Height. Even then it's Hasbro's relative Scale, not a true strict Scale.

But alas, 'tis the life of the collector I guess!

Is your avatar Ice-man like in Spiderman and his amazing friends? I used to love that show... In fact I was watching the first episode the other day when 'Norman Osbourne' leave the institution, but then starts giggling when he transforms into the Green-Goblin again. Lol, so good!

Hey, although they look similar it's classic Silver Surfer, with a Watcher cameo, from the cover of Fantastic Four issue 72 by the great Jack "King' Kirby.
Spidey and his Amazing Friends was a great show!

Zandar shipped from Amazon today and is going to be delivered today. Would have been nice to have been informed of this since I wasn't expecting him until Sept. -_-

Hmmm.... Maybe I did over-react, but I honestly thought you and that other guy were trolling me. - I couldn't (still don't) get why you'd be so unhappy with me for wanting more accurate measurements (mm instead of inches)! Lol! It was like I ruined your entire month just by mentioning the fact! Mm are more precise!

Case in point (again!) - I saw cool figures the other day on an online video... The guy reviewing them just said: 'These are 6 inch figures'. I thought: 'Cool these might go with my masters of the universe figures' (which are 6 inches (roughly)... But nope... Just bought one and it's nearly SEVEN inches grrrr. - All this would be solved in people would just use flipping milli-fookin-metres.

acting like a bitch
Hit it on the head there... Thank you very much!

But please... Let's just not fall out over millimetres.
You love your (cough)... 'inches', and I like millimetres!
- No big deal! - You just prefer... 'larger' measures for your (OOO!!!)... purposes. ;)

If that had been 'bumstrike' it might have roused my interest.

Joke! Joke!! (If they're still allowed in this miserable age!).

Only femboys say: 'SOOOOO'.

...You'll never see a real man like me say it. ;)

Dr Kain 01-18-2025 07:34 PM

I wasn't trolling you, I was confused. I've never heard anyone ask why something is in inches.

As I said, mm are only taught in a single math lesson at the tail end of the school year in the metric measurement unit IF we even have the time to teach it before summer break. There's only one question on the state standardized test that uses a metric unit and really it's just students needing to know the conversion, which depending on the grade level, is displayed on the side of the screen for them.

Ok ok! Inches it is! Bloody hell!

What is your recipe for the figures? I recognize the heads from Marvel Legends but cannot place the bodies. Love them and all your collection.

Bombstrike is Movie Scarlett with Lady Jaye's arms and Doc 2 is a full Lady Jaye repaint, next to them is Freestyle and she's also a Lady Jaye repaint with one of the heads from the Marvel Legends SHIELD/Hydra 2 pack. Behind Jinx is my custom Sherlock upper torso from Shooter, lower torso from Lady Jaye. Bionic arm from ML Ironheart. Behind Chuckles is Mayday, movie Scarlett body with MCU Monica's arms

I didn't even know there was a livestream today.

I'm totally in for Flint and Covergirl, the rest are depended on my budget and space. I would like Slice and Dice, but I probably won't be able to afford them.

No livestream today, just a bunch of reveals and the promise of an upcoming livestream sometime in Feb.

I wish there were more Joe trooper builders to pack in as drivers, I missed Clutch, and now Crankcase is locked behind the driver wall too
