TRU was having a buy one get one 40% off for Marvel and DC stuff out in LA. Picked me up a Red Hulk Avengers team pack and a Juggernaut/Colossus two pack. I was shocked to find three clear Sue Storm variant FF team packs though, but didn't get one since I had one. I figured I'd throw it out there if anyone needed one on here I could swing by and grab one for them.

Speaking of Kingpin, I never noticed how much he resembled Shadow King.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...x-Kingpinm.png http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__...h-616)_001.jpg I also never noticed that they both have "king" in their names.:p Make it happen, Hasbro! |
I dreamed about MU last night... it was pretty bizarre.
My local Fred Meyer had scores of new figures. The packaging had a new redesign that was a stark white, like the Ultimate Spider-Man figures. I don't remember what the singles were, but there were also group packs (which Fred Meyer has never carried before), one of which had Jim Lee 90's Wolverine, Cyclops, and Iceman (all new sculpts), and the other had white costume Elektra, Death head Archangel, and Rogue in her MvC2 colors. Outrageously awesome stuff. They also had MU bootlegs, which were obvious due to their poor quality (and what figures they had) and the fact that instead of Hasbro, they were credited to "Xing Wa Xing". The packaging mimicked the new style of package seen on the other singles, but included a very-off model Wolverine that looked like he was about to throw up, as well as a purple-and-blue Batman with red skin, and an unarticulated plastic owl no larger than my thumb. Then I got into a sparring match with voice actor Kaiji Tang in the aisle o.O |
i was bored this morning and wrote a review on the wave 20 figs i bought yesterday:
Nova Ill start with this one since he's the most sought after. Unfortunately mine came with some quality control issues. the chest piece that goes aroudnthe shoulders is a separate pice from the torso which if pegged and glued on. the glue started to give away on one of the shoulders. His arm also has a problem rotating. Im not going to force it and break the arm like my scarlet witch. But form and articulation wise, he is a faithfully accurate of his nova prime costume. He also does not come with a swivel neck. Same problem with Angel. Angel Angels constume is an adaptation from his days as a member of the obscure 80s team, the Champions, same with fellow wave member Herc. He comes with a brand new hand mold, which ill call the hitler hand for now. It really helps him when posing in a flight stand. While the body has no outstanding attributes, the wings are clearly the hero and nemesis of this figure. His wingspan when folded out reaching exactly 11". the bad part about them is when you want to stand him when folded all the way down. The wing tips reach farther than his legs so you'll have to have the wings arched out a bit so he can stand, IF you can. However, he is destined to be on every collectors flight stands anyways. Nighthawk Nighthawk, like the rest of the wave, are all team builders, with him being a longtime member of the Defenders. In terms of his comics likeness, he has had multiple costumes, but this figure takes different pieces from those. a bit nit picky, but it would have cool if they molded on his small jetpack under the wings. He shares the same body as Nova with the two ab swivels. Even with the wings he doesn't have much of a balance problem when standing. He also has better claws than any wolverine fig we've seen in this line. Hercules Herc definitely a solid figure. His costume is not his original with the kilt, but im not sure where this costume comes from that the figure wears. He is also the only one in the wave with swivel wrists, the same ones that doc strange has. He is a great addition though to the classic Avengers. Id call this one as my favorite of the wave. Puck Like the rest of you, I questioned why such a small figure was deemed fit for a single card release. Once I opened him up, I was greeted with surprise, his articulation. Now he has ALOT for a figure thats 2 3/4" tall. He has swivel ankles, shins, and wrists. Where his legs and arms meet the torso is also rotatable. He can also move his head up and down with a swivel neck. What really disappoints me is not the size or the articulation, but the failed promise that I could balance him on one hand. I spent 20 minutes frustratingly trying to just that, but to no avail. All he can do with that hand now is "raise the roof". |
Stores are barely getting the red hulk and clear Sue waves. The aisles continue to look bare and I'm still playing the waiting game.

New addition thanks to Provost!

I got the X-Men pack yesterday, as I opened it, Rogue's arm dropped right off. I heated the joint and was able to snap it back in but thats REALLY poor on Hasbro's packaging part. that said, she's great.
I was unimpressed with Wolverine… because I had the exact figure already with the She Hulk two pack. Now, Longshot's got a terrible Mullet and not so much a handsome face, but I like that buck. Baby Cyclops can at least stand… unlike herbie. I also was able to score hawkeye and Mockingbird for 5 bucks each. that was a much better deal. Hawkeye is maybe one of my top 3 males. and Mockingbird's buck is still my favorite. |

Ninjinister, tell me you didn't pick those up at the Tacoma TRU while I was in the restroom before hitting the toy aisle.

Just got the Mandarin and Silver Centurion 2-pack! Also, check out marvel.com, they have a Thor figure on the Ultimate Thor buck for the Avengers line that I don't think was released at Toy Fair.

I believe it was shown briefly, a slightly repainted Ultimate Thor with a different hammer. |

That Red Skull... Figures I finally got the Invaders one a month ago. I think the new one will be joining my HYDRA though. |
For those that have the Anti-Venom pack already, what's the differences with the Spidey and Goblin in the pack?
|
is the ML holocaust figure in scale with MU? I'm looking for BAFs that will work like sentinel and onslaut.
