Shipping is shite...but customs charges are the work of the devil!!!

Pilkster 07-09-2015 12:33 PM

When ever I get any of the US guys to ship anything to me I get them to always ship as gift of old toys. If the value is under £25 then there shouldn't be in port charges so always ask for shipping to be sent as gift and custom charges will be no more trust me, learnt that the hard way. Thought I was getting a good deal on my first sentinel at a bar gin price of $60 I ended up paying £36 EXTRA in custom charges had the other 2 sent as gift with almost a 100 figures in the same parcel no custom charges

I always ask that the value written on the pack is no more $20 and that seems to do the trick. Sometimes peeps forget thought and I have a nice little card through the door asking for extra ££££££ :mad1

Not to play sherrif, but there are like 10 of here in this thread, even less that are active. If it gives 2 or 3 something to talk about, i think it bennefits. Even if it doesnt bennefit, it is still something to read here. I too wish more pics were in his thread. That is why Friday I am taking some pics and only posting some in here. Keep it sort of exclusive.... can others do the same this weekend please? It will be good to see some appreciation shots while F5-ing awaiting news from the con! So if you have ten minutes, take a shot of something or someone or teams or group shots...whatever. Just be nice to see half a dozen or more new shots by Sunday evening in here. cheers to JB for keeping it fresh with photos on almost each page!

You dont need to keep the ladies too happy....not if you marry an ugly one! ;) lol daddy always said if you marry for looks, it will bite in the end-if you marry for money, you will have to earn every penny- but, if you marry an ugly girl, she'll be grateful everyday! ;)

I really dig Machine Man a lot. i like triton for the Inhumans...need a crystal even more now. Oh, and Yondu and Vance Astro!?! That was out of nowhere...did not see those two coming!

That question was aimed at longestday not you, ukmu!!!i know you might feel like the sheriff here but this issue has been around long before you arrived on this thread, bro.the reason I say it's pointless and a waste of time is because practically no one here looks out for anyone.
Lol don't let your wife see that comment buddy,or you will be getting served something more than a nice dinner,as far as women are concerned,I got lucky......found a good one,she tolerates my "doll collecting" XD
One a side note the legends Antman wave landed in my town did NOT think twice about grabbing that giantman for the Mu collection, looks great with the 3:75 guys, definitely worth grabbing ill post some pics when I get the chance.

Theres the main Marvel appreciation thread for collection pics, news on new releases etc if thats what you are after.

Apologies for individual replies,I'm doing it off a tablet.heres the thing,I'm right next door to you guys im in Ireland and with the exception of one or two legends waves, everything Mu has landed here,I've heard that one before about stuff being hard to get,but was in London several times since I started posting on this group and have always found Mu or infinite somewhere, and pantho seems to get a lot of stuff in Liverpool so I'm kinda baffled at the chat concerning lack of items.and personally I prefer posting here, the main thread never fully got rid of the taint left by bad members!in fact some of those asswipes still post from time to time!i just enjoy seeing what people are working on,what they have achieved or are trying to achieve,if I'm in a position to help, that's what makes me feel part of something, part of this community.thats what makes toyark great, the way I see it toyark is about community not individuals!and it's certainly not about me!
and just to clear something up its never my intentions to come and pick fights here i have no ish with any one here, sometimes i get "irked" by repetition part of being human i suppose.

Jackieboy 07-09-2015 05:02 PM

on a sdcc related note, looks like sdcc ant man sets are on route to irish shores.....happy days!

ukmu 07-09-2015 11:28 PM

when exactly did you become human? i always assumed you were a cyborg, or at a minimum, living tissue over a metal endoskeleton.

SDCC Ant Man set is coming....hmm, might have to ask you to grab one! Had zero intention of going for one because of all the hoops to jump through...but if it would be possible for a neighbour to get one, it would make a heck of a Christmas pressy. let me know if you can score any extra when the time comes.

SDCC 2015 Exclusive Marvel Ant-Man Set - Marvel Figures (Hasbro) Exclusives

these guys ship international^^^

yeah, i always prefer this thread to any thread on the internets. i just like that we few, we happy few, we band of brothers (quoted Shakespear befor7;30am,gonna be a good day) have our own little space.

Anyway...pics tonight! yeah! Won a new DOOM on ebay in a lot for ££12.38 shipped. With Bucky, Cap (with the pointy shield) Winter Soldier and some other figure.

Going to finish the S.H.I.E.L.D. army this weekend I hope for S.H.I.E.L.D. pics when i get the Mini Mandroids back from Pilk.

Gonna Try to take a few outside shots Saturday. Drag all that shit into the woods and take some pics by this little tiny waterfall.

lol,i was actually bitten by a radioactive potato ukmu, super powers include prolonged sitting around, daydreaming, moaning and flatulence,i havent gone with alternate identity but im leaning heavily towards "the mick" XD
i thought you guys also had free shipping in the uk,longestday?
when i first started on my 3.75 venture i got a lot of early stuff i missed from uk,sad to hear stock is being withheld in certain regions, but you can always bagger your lcs and toystores that deal with hasbro to stock up.
loving that magnus and romulus btw.
oh you guys might love this, was gonna pick up shanna and dd yesterday and i found this beautiful piece of work, the pics showing some love to a certain hydra lover in this house.the antman wave has landed in europe.

if anyones causing tension its me,bro.apologies if i offended you,was really not my intentions.the us thread has great people posting on it,dont get me wrong, but timezone difference results in me missing a lot of active convo.im on you guys side of the pond so uk thread suits me more but like it when people go nuts with photos of stuff they have.when i first got here my collection was tiny, but with determination and some help from good people i got to where im at now,and i try give some of that back to people only getting into it,because i was there myself at one point.

Well i must say having just read the last few pages of this thread i feel i am not worthy of collecting this line of figures now according to Jackieboy.
I may not be a pro and have only started collecting in February but feel i have a decent collection so far in the short space of time (45 figs) and if i can bolster this collection with a few of the better so called shite movie line figures for cheap then why the hell not.
I understand most of them are crap with only the 5POA but the falcon and winter soldier i bought the other week are 7POA and are miles better than some of the new Infinite stuff (Black Cat/Big time Spidey) and in hand i actually like them and they have decent details. Another point is when you actually go shopping for to 3 citys in one day hoping to pick up the new Infinite wave and not to find any anywhere, finding a couple of bargains along the way makes up for it where i bought those figures for £4.99 each from TRU where about an hour earlier i nearly bouth them from Smyths for 8.99 so as you can imagine feeling a bit smug also helps.
All i can see is anything to do with marvel at this size is ok by me and i'd like to hear about it.

TheLongestDay 07-10-2015 05:37 AM

My Marvel collection is a mish mash of MU/MI,customs,SHS,Movie Lines,12" Titan series,Chinese Knock offs and a couple of Incredible Hulk movie figures :D

I'm sorry did I single you out or something?i don't think I did.look at it like this,if you regularly hunt for Mu and your local toystores and comicstores get used to you swinging by once a week or so why not ask them about stocking them,it may take weeks sometimes months but eventually they come through for you.people here will help you, even check online amazon buy and sell for uk based sellers.the 5 poa figures are terrible to me,personally.but the Im suits work in backdrops for hall of armors.i just refuse to believe the uk is awash with goose stepping marvel figs, lol.

ukmu 07-10-2015 06:20 AM

I have some other stuff i have found to you law when we meet up. i have your helicarrier ready. I just found my phone so I will text you tonight. (fyi - for every 1 day i have my phone there are 8-12 days it is missing)

Trying to figure out some outdoor pics i want to take....most foresty stuff just looks like a jungle. OK for some shots, but not all.

Anyway, did you guys like the new diorama with the 6" movie figs? 1. it was tiny 2.felt a bit disrespected by it as a 3.75" collector 3. it looked cheap with the silk house plants in it 4. they are really trying to push movie figures in that size now, think they want to the cheap alternative to HOT TOYS

ukmu 07-10-2015 06:23 AM

i like the 5 poa Chitauri..... they seem old fashioned and rhyme with Atari, but it is all we got. I have a respectable army of them but rarely mention them. Got most them from Chinabay for a couple quid each. i love the Chineese sellers!!!!

They had 9POAs - neck, shoulder, thigh, elbow, & knee.

It really is, every shop that sells toys has a shelf of IM3 5POAs, ASM2 Spideys, and bloody Star Wars Mission Series. I've only seen new Infinite at Sainsburys, I've even seen a shelf of Hyperion & Grim Reaper still knocking about.

Slightly anoyed me that comment dude. I try to go out of my way to help any collector, It was only the other day Jedi showed me the pic of the wheelchair and I offered to make it without even asking for cash. added free flags for UKMUs Hydra army in out last trade. The logest day sorted me out with free weapons in our last trade. I think the point is, there is a certain few who on here are actully excited about other peoples collections and what makes them unique and is genuinley not out to make any profit to help a brother out. sorry dude rant over

My goodness, and here was me thinking any day now he's gonna say "I've built your wheelchair, that'll be £70."
Within the next 2 weeks I'll have £50 from a survey company who want me for a survey about GCSEs (I get my results on August 20th) so I'll actually have cash to be buying stuff from everyone :D

ukmu 07-10-2015 08:40 AM

How do you think you did on your exams? If you spent more time with a book and less time here you would have done better!!!!

I have to tell you ,lot about my sons Y4 report we JUST got about an hour ago....

they were on about WW2 and the london bombings, Battle Of Britain and all that....in his teacher comments she said, "Blaze loved the WW2 topic. He was brill with his report on it. He did, however, say that the war didnt end and some Nazi's formed HYDRA and carry on their work today."

Thats my boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your son is a legend, there's only about 7 years between us, so by the time we're in our 30s UKMUs heir and I could be running Marvel Hasbro! Now that would be an unstoppable team.
Exams went ok, although it didn't help that Age of Ultron came out halfway through revision X'D
