So it is compatible with the 4" scale right? I think if I get it I'll remove the floor, I saw someone else do it online and it seemed to work.

That's actually my favorite MU right now. Only paid $6.99 for him with a minorly damaged card, so draining my piggy bank was worth it.

Very nice. I still need to pick him along with the rest of the Infinite line gems like Red She-Hulk.

I scored Rogue and Morbius from TRU, Quasar and Hydro-Man were already gone.

Nice. I'm still annoyed that I haven't found that wave in the wild yet because it's got a lot of great characters in it.

Awesome^

Mordiganne 09-01-2016 11:53 PM

The Universe is expanding.... (pics to follow in next post)

Picked up the 'Thors' pack while at Walmart getting non-toy items. The female Thor will be great for customs. Not sure what I'll do with the extra Thors (or whomever this alt character is - the comic made no sense to me and will get pitched anyway). Captain Britain was a good price on Amazon but it's too short which is why I hadn't bought him up to this point. Going to salvage the head and make a more appropriately scaled Captain Britain custom of this outfit. With this batch - aka Marauders pt.2 - the Marauders are 90% complete and this rounds out the team that was in the Tunnels. If I get into large scale diorama making I'll have to make a Morlock Tunnel for these guys to display in. Man, that was a great story that led perfectly into 'Fall' and then 'Inferno.' Claremont could really write a story back in the day. Malice will be made at some point...I'm still debating on which version I want to make since she never had a body of her own. Kinda leaning toward red dress Dazzler, but I don't know. So, anyway, onto the rest...

Volcana (powered down) - My Secret Wars line up is one step closer to completion. I fixed the leg/feet issues I had mentioned before so she can now stand up straight. She's about the easiest custom I've ever made (outside of simple repaint jobs). I did paint the entire head from scratch - since she was a red She-Hulk - which is not something I was used to. Made for good practice and made painting subsequent heads much easier, but I still hate painting eyes. Anyway, powered down Volcana is a good fit for my collection. She'll be useful to have for swapping in some small scale dioramas I plan to make. Now I just need to finish Molecule Man to pair her with. Speaking of my collection, I'll take some pics of the current state of the shelves once I add this batch in.

Power Princess - Seems everyone does the black leotard with yellow slash version of the character, so I decided to do something different and make her more modern look to go along with my Squadron. I only sculpted the end of her sleeves and the hair. I wish the black paint hadn't made the sculpt detail so hard to see. It really came out much better than I was even expecting. Eventually I'll get around to making one of her purple armor outfits, but that's a ways off. So I now have the "Avengers Assembled" team of Squadron characters added to the collection even though I never intended to make any of them. Still not sure about making a Nuke since the guy didn't do a damn thing and his outfit is hideous.

Odin - I'm a big Thor fan so was looking forward to his line of figures back in the day to get some good comic style Thor figures. You can imagine my disappointment with that bunch of runty movie Thors and Odins - with a smattering of equally runty background characters. I passed on most including the tiny Odins. With a head from Angry Nomad and a Death's Head body I figured could actually do the character justice and decided to take my stab at the All Father. Pretty standard parts recipe for Odin, but I had a blast painting this guy, especially the cape. Not much sculpt work needed (just the mace) so really took my time on his paint job and went with a couple of shades of gold to make the armor bits stand out more. A welcome addition to the Thor portion of my collection. Now to custom up some comic versions of the Warriors Three.

Pyro - First custom member of my favorite Brotherhood team down. Pyro's always been an interesting character to me. He's not overly powerful and has pretty severe limits which makes him different than most villains. I went with a Bowen bust design that had the red retaining rings at the wrists which makes more sense to me than him having flame throwers directly attached the back of his gloves. Another Nomad head; the hoses are cut up Omega Red coils and vinyl for the torso piece & collar. Sculpt on the boots and backpack. I have some removable flames to give him but I have to find them first. I didn't think much of this custom when I started him, but as he got closer to completion he quickly became one of my favorites. Definitely Top Ten. The rest of the Brotherhood are coming. Will be nice to have them all done, they'll make a nice setup. Not sure if I'll make a custom from when he was part of Freedom Force. Not real fond of that team (overall) and there's a lot more teams to complete first.

Scrambler - I've had an extra Prof X for years now and could never think of what to do with the body because finding heads that fit without looking ridiculous is harder than you'd think it'd be. It wasn't until I started the Marauder project that I had a viable use for this figure. The Xavier head doesn't really look Korean, but then again, neither does any of the art for Scrambler, so I'm going to go with it since I need the character in the lineup. I also never realized how small the professor body is. Works great for Scrambler though given how diminutive the character is.

Blockbuster - Blockbuster has a pretty significant role in the Massacre, crippling Angel and going toe-to-toe with Thor; including breaking the Thunder God's arm. That's badass. The Marauders' muscle was pretty easy to make. A lot of painting and minor sculpting in parts. I randomly picked up the perfect shade of blue for his costume one day - long before I even thought of making him - just because I liked the color. His design is easy to create but I'm not overly fond of the boots they gave him. I was going to at least fill in from the top of his calves down to the ankle and smooth that out but that still wouldn't match and really, I don't like his boots enough as they're drawn in the comics to bother. So I just went with the ones that came with the figure and left them as is. I really like the look of them much better since they actually look like boots.

Vertigo - Vertigo was quite a challenge in that her costume has a ridiculous amount of lines and curves all over it. Plotting those out took the most amount of time especially since there's no consensus in how it should be drawn. I went with a dark on light green color scheme. I've always thought that's what the colorist intended, rather than green on white, but it just couldn't be done back in the 80's when the character debuted. I was expecting this figure to be about on par with Riptide, but now that she's finished Vertigo also has a place in my Top Ten. Really happy with this batch.

Scalphunter - This is probably my most hated Custom! Trying to make this guy - whose outfit has an innumerable amount of oddly shaped "metal" objects randomly attached to it - in figure form was an absolute nightmare as there is just no good way to do it. I haven't wanted to get a custom done and out of the way this badly since Vanguard. I might add a belt to him at some point and fix up his midsection. Not too happy with that part as it is. On the plus I made a holster on his back for so his sword is removable in case I get a chance to setup that scene from the comics when he takes a slash at Kitty. Man, I really do hate this guy.

Harpoon - Harpoon is one of the deadliest Marauders. He racked up quite the body count in the Massacre, and that's only the ones we got to see. He also helped to cripple Angel and was quite gratuitous with slaying Morlocks. A stone cold killer this guy. Pretty simple custom though I'm not overly fond of the sculpting I did on the hair. But, it's passable. Not much more to say. He's pretty boring design wise.

Also found the Darkness goblins, perfect for the Goblin Queen. With some minor custom work can even make them match Jean Grey's parents from the Inferno storyline.

That Odin is awesome.

LordMudd 09-02-2016 12:04 AM

That is the nicest Pyro custom I have ever seen.

I am planning to use the Thor head on the Hyperion body in that 2 pack to make Ultimus from Starforce.

I was so happy when they made Ares, he's one of my favorite Mythical figures and I like the Marvel version a lot. His accessories are so good too!

Ares as a Marvel character was awesome. He was still getting quite a bit of use and I'm surprised he's been out of play so long. This figure is indeed awesome. I just wished they would have gone the removable helmet route because I think the looks badda$$ without his helmet as well.

I also liked seeing him as part of the Dark Avengers team I think you guys might be able to tell I like the Dark Avengers quite a bit.

I do prefer Removable Helmets but if they have to choose between either helmeted or non helmeted I prefer to just have the Helmet.

The head from this figure from the Kickstarter could be used for a Bob custom.

Well spotted indeed. The names of the characters are so deliciously 80's. Captain Eagle- the leader guy, Stryker- the shooter guy, and General Brown- the black guy?

Like to see details of that playset though.
