Weapon X 03-24-2017 03:47 PM

I went to a different Target than usual today. Had a job interview and it was nearby, so what the heck. They had the Warlock wave but all they had were Polaris and the guy with the eyepatch.

He said he didn't really know when they'd be back in stock.

Boy Blunder 03-24-2017 03:51 PM

As reported on MarvelousNews, the Japanese Hot Toys website apparently uploaded an in-package image of the upcoming ANAD Spider-Man/Mary-Jane two-pack, which I'm mirroring for everyone's convenience.

Looks like Petey's getting an unmasked head along with the standard allotment of hands for a Pizza Spidey redeco. The deco is a little... less appealing on the final figure IMO, but I will buy it all the same because 1) I like that costume, and 2) I will support the hell out of any civilian figures we can get.

Either way, it looks like this pack might be the first of the multi-packs to hit this year!

YUP...that's a purchase...

This is the first I've heard of multipacks

At Toy Fair, they announced three packs - this one, a 70s Cyclops/Dark Phoenix 2-pack, and an A-Force six-pack (with Monica Rambeau/Photon/Spectrum/whichever codename, Elsa Bloodstone, She-Hulk, Singularity, Lady Loki, and Lady Sif). All three are Toys R Us-exclusive iirc.

Dang, I'm glad I grabbed that set for that low of amount, they sold out fast didn't they?

Yeah I don't think he looks good as Cable but who knows...

That's the one that started it all for me. It cost me a lot back then. There is another version that is cheaper, but not nearly as cool.

I have the old variant ToyBiz Bishop. He's nearly as big as some of my Hulk figures. I have no clue why they thought he needed to be so big. I don't like messing with him much. He's too bulky and hard to pose. I definitely hope he gets a redo soon.

I have Psylocke too. She just needs the same update that Phoenix and Rogue got recently.

I highly recommend Beast and Nightcrawler. I don't think Hasbro are going to top these two. The articulation is perfect for these characters. My only real complaint between either of them is the head sculpt of Nightcrawler. It's not necessarily "bad" but it doesn't remind me of Kurt Wagner at all...

Gambit is still good as a figure, but trying to fit him in with newer Legends....ehhh. He looks way too short. Rogue makes him look like a toddler but you can make it work.

EDIT: Also, regarding Archangel, yeah I know there was the classic Angel but I needed the Archangel for my favorite era of X-Men....I had a gift card I got from graduation and figured eff it....might as well use it to get a figure that's outside of my own personal budget lol

Captain Nash 03-24-2017 04:24 PM

@DTL, I just meant stop til we move into the temporary apartment while our new house is being built. That's only 4 weeks from now I think I can manage especially since not much is coming out.

Then again, I see that Mary Jane pack...yeah unless something major happens I'm getting that.

Don't forget the Walmart-exclusive Ultimate Spidey vs. Vulture two-pack, and the non-exclusive two-packs of GotG Vol. 2 Star Lord and Ego, and Spidey: Homecoming Spider-Man and Iron Man. Plus, they announced some kind of Thor 2-pack coming later this year, and (unless this was a mistake that has since been corrected) Marvel vs. Capcom 2-pack(s).

Weapon X 03-24-2017 05:16 PM

God that Mary Jane looks so good. Looks like I will have to shell out dough for her. I have no desire for that Spiderman :/

Does anyone know what two-packs retail for?

Probably $30-40. So, about the price the two figures would be if sold separately, or less.

$30 would be an absolute steal, here's hoping.

Silver contact paper and a foamcore tri-fold are the foundations of my DangerRoom :)

Saw the new GotG wave (minus Angela of course) at a local Gamestop. Gives me hope that they might get the new X-men wave too eventually... thought they gave up on ML after the Strange wave pegwarmed on them bad.

Interesting, I didn't know they sold Marvel Legends.

I know they were starting to sell action figures again after many years of not doing so. I'm happy to see it, I think it's a good move.

Since Gamestop purchased Thinkgeek a few years ago their Gamestop stores have begun to sell more figures and novelties like Thinkgeek sells (Gamestop did sell figures before but usually in very small quantities and seemingly random selections). Not all stores are doing this to the same degree though. One of my local stores just has this small setup in the middle of the store which has like mini aisle shelves/pegs on either side which has figures including brands like Hasbro, Diamond Select, DCC, and Funko. My other local store though went full on Thinkgeek so now pretty much half of the store is collectible/novelty stuff exactly like I'd find at a Thinkgeek store while the other half remains regular Gamestop.

No one buys them around here unless they get closed out. I got some good deals on the Onslaught wave.

I've never heard of Thinkgeek, but that sounds exciting. I have noticed that some stores have more toys than others. I haven't encountered one where half the store is toys though, but here's hoping.

Too bad its a TRU exclusive. Target had the WM/Disco pack for $20 or less. Dont really need another regular comic spidey. MJ looks like a nice figure though.

It's not another regular comic Spidey, it's his All-New, All-Different costume; basically, they slanted some of the angles where the blue meets the webbed red (especially at the tops of the gloves and boots), and made the Spider-symbol and eyes glow. Even though it's a radical change as far as not-complete-overhaul Spider-Man costumes go, relative to most comic book costume changes, it's really not that big. Spider-Man's costume just doesn't change that much, and when it does, it's usually more just tweaking some of the details, rather than actually genuinely changing anything.

Also, hey, a Peter Parker head that's not made for the teen body.
