Beg retailers. They're the ones that axed it. If it sold strong, it would have brought us more villains to shelves faster. Some stores barely even stocked the SHIELD tech versions, favoring the less articulated line instead. And then blamed poor sales on the overall toon brand instead of the fact people were looking for the SHIELD tech versions not the dollar store versions, and then major retailers refused to carry it at all. Hence why you saw both versions at discount stores.

There's a whole retailer argument between the two lines, and their perception of toy line merchandise and cost of ordering etc. As well as flawed perceptions of why merchandise moves or not. Though I do agree, I absolutely loved the Falcon figure and widow figure from that line. Would have loved getting Fury and Hawkeye too, but they never showed up near me. And would absolutely love to get a figure of the new Faclon design in the show with the Gatchaman design influenced head/mask. It was our best chance at an Iron Skull too(literally a repaint and head swap of the ironman and red skull figures), and our earliest chance at a Dracula figure too and more.

We can hope that they'd like to carry it again, but our best bet is a rebranding of the toon lines in general to consolidate shelf space. Depends on how well the new GOTG line sells though too, and with Spider-man getting movies coming up, no way will retailers want to give up the ultimate spider-man line right now. So our best hope is potentially a toon toy line rebranding of something like "Spider-man and the Avengers" or along those lines to get retailers to bite on a new line that features articulated 3.75''/4'' figures of the toon properties. Something like this could get us a new Blade figure, Dracula, and more since the Ultimate Spider-man toon and Avengers toon both have a lot of characters between them. Including Loki as well besides spider-ham and even frog Thor. The cost on Hasbro's end is minimal too as many of the figures could be recolors/slight remolds of existing figures with some complete new ones thrown in too. I'd love to get the new Widow from the toon, as well as that Yelena version from that mold. And they could also toss in the previously scrapped Strucker too thanks to that episode. That's of course besides the upcoming character cameos too. And we could even get a Kamala Khan Ms. Marvel faster that way too or Ghost. Plus Captain America's mold is more or less his Civil War version that came with the bike, so it'd only need some vibrant toon coloring as a repaint.

Retailer toy marketing is a long thing to explain. How they like varied sizes for the shelves. Eye catching packaging. And all sorts of other various marketing gimmicks of what they think works and so much more. This is why the material we see now is the material we see now on shelves for Ultimate Spider-man. Including the "try me now!" packaging types, and other market words across various packaging. They also don't want to pay much for it either, and want easy profit turnovers, etc. and so much more. The economic and business side of major retailers is very very involved.

Buy it or PM them, I could do with that Vision

Just ordered the Cap and Bucky set for approx. £12 GBP plus postage.

Will see if I can get them shrunk to 3.75" scale as they are better Evans and Stan likenesses than the Hasbro efforts.

Awesome. I'm still a little bit annoyed that they're not 3.75". I would have loved that Vision and Scarlet Witch.

By next year we'll have full Defenders too. Well, the full comic counterparts to the netflix version at least.

Basilisk 09-05-2016 10:44 AM

I wish we had a 3.75 Goliath figure the 12 inch figure looks amazing

Sithlord1963 09-05-2016 12:09 PM

Genuinely can't remember if I'd done this or not (mind not where it should be) so, if not, thanks for all the kind comments following my Mother passing away. Travelling tomorrow for the funeral on Thursday so going 'off comms' as need to concentrate on other things at the moment.

ukmu 09-05-2016 12:28 PM

Condolences brother....

Brasilia, took your advice and I pre-ordered two figures from wave 5 H.A.C.K.S. from your tip on In Demand Toys. A male and female chrome blank. Planning on writing them and asking if I can piggy back a skeleton onto the order. Hopefully I can. Maybe us UK guys can place a I'll order through them?

Seeing Goliath reminds me I need a Giantman Skrull. Honestly, there are several things I need to go back and get if I think about it. I did get some more flight stands so now I have amassed about 20 something of those and now I lost my 100 or so Pro-Tech figure stands! It bloody never ends!!!!!!

I have an extra SDCC Red Skull if anyone needs him for a simple trade. Don't need much value wise just someone I don't have.

Boredman 09-05-2016 02:52 PM

Ukmu - well I hope you get better service that I've had from ID Toys. I ordered 3 HACKS figures from them nearly two weeks ago and they've still not been shipped and they're not replying to my emails. Hopefully it's just because they're on holiday or something, these smaller online toy stores are usually run by 1 or 2 people...

Same here. Strucker was already slated. Finally got a workable head so he'll be in a coming batch soon. Same for Blacklash since he's an easy custom. And I'm spared from having to get another Cap or Iron-Man. Win-win!

This is definitely my favorite wave. Great character selection and classic Havok and Archangel are damn near perfect representations of the character IMO. Strange wave is a close second thanks to the awesome Dr. Strange and his Astral variant. Scarlet Spider was well done, too.

As promised, here's my current shelves. They're 95% customs; all customs were made this year. The rest of my figures are boxed until I get my shelving racks built. They were all on one shelf until recently when I moved the villains to their own shelf.

Avengers; Heroes for Higher/Street Level characters:

Spider-Man; Asgardian/Cosmic; Mutant characters:

Pretty much a random mix of villains; Hydra; Iron-Man rogues; etc...

Dude, your customs are outstanding. Like seriously, along with Pilkster's work and some other MU customizers on this thread, you have some of the coolest stuff.

samsson37 09-05-2016 09:18 PM

Well they no longer have 3 packs so you don't have to worry about getting another Cap or Iron Man. I mean they won't use them like that anymore.

The Toybiz Sasquatch is a great stand in until they figure out how to make one.

For now at least. But hopefully some of those figures will still get single carded releases somewhere.

It really does pair up well to them!
Speaking of pairs, they could do a Sasquatch like they did the Groot & Rocket Raccoon comic pack, using Puck to go with Sasquatch. Still would be a few inches shorter than the Toy biz one, but it'd be taller than the suggested Beast retool they were talking about before way back when. Possibly do a US Agent and Vindicator comic pack to round the team out more and help fill in more on that wave too.

CCC.

Dang I need to hit up my TRU this weekend hopefully they get that new wave, although they're still have a lot of the past wave though.

Snowflakian 09-06-2016 12:59 PM

Five Below and Marshals are on my shopping trips list now.

Got astonishing Cyclops and Deathlok today for 5 bucks each, and Marshals had the Captain Marvels comic pack for 12. They also had a whole bunch of Combiner Wars Onslaughts for 14.

My local TRU got the Quasar wave in, but Quasar is all I want from that wave and he was already sold out.

Why? Because it was a beacon of hope after a pretty grim 2015. We'd only been able to get characters on the old bucks if it was a direct rerelease after the cut-back, but now, we got new figures on the newer bucks, and some rereleases, but we also got old bucks on new characters, plus an ever-needed Black Panther rerelease. Like I said, unconventional, but still my choice.

That's a GREAT point. 2015 was pretty abysmal for the line, things SEEM to be trending up I think. I really am super stoked to be getting a lot of the old bucks back and new bucks with torso articulation.

I picked up the cosmic marvels set again for $10, I'm trying to get a decent collection of kree going and have picked up some blue paint. I also saw someone on here somewhere made a dr Minerva, so if anything I can justify the extra as a captain atlas 2 pack lol. Recently read galactic storm so I'd love some more krees and some shiar.

I only want the masked Carol Captain Marvel from it. If I go back and it's still there, you want the retro one?

That's why I've been holding off on getting it since I only want one figure from it.
