I am a diorama guy and was scouring the internet and I came across this picture from back in 2011. I felt a strange sense of dejavu. I saw almost all of the Marvel Legends figures that we are getting now. I saw Sunfire, spiderman infinite (2014), brown costume Wolverine, electro (2016), Cpt Britain (2016), Juggernaut BAF, Darkhawk, goblin, Doctor strange, The wrecking Crew, the list goes on but this was in 2011. Many of the figures in that Dio we have not even seen like thing, Lizard, red hulk, armored hulk, Luke Cage, Sabre tooth,apocalypse etc.
Are these something that I have missed or are they windows into the future. Are these figures still in the future? If so I am pumped for some of them. Many of these we are just now getting and if the other lie ahead that would be great. We don't have that hulk and the release of a movie version will be out this year undoubtedly. So what am I missing?

Hasbro's Marvel Universe Diorama at SDCC 2011 - The Toyark - News

That diorama is actually for the 3.75 line just to clarify. But your actual question still has a valid point...could we eventually get the remainder of the characters we don't have yet from Hasbro? Some of them we do have via Toybiz, but I think it's possible. We did get a BAF Red Hulk in Hasbro's first run of Legends, and we have gotten a Sabretooth a few years back as well, still think Sabretooth is possible, Red Hulk, maybe. We'll get a Thing within the next couple of years through the Walgreen's Fantastic Four exclusives, and I'd say a (BAF) Apocalpyse is very likely by 2019. Lizard perhaps, Luke Cage also likely at some point but it could just be a Netflix Version.

anybody else mildly bothered at the glossiness of the Legends sometimes.??
many of them i wish were more of a matte finish...esp for photography..

and

this guys collection is pretty deep..

On some of them I mind. Like Captain Marvel's face shouldn't be so glossy but when it's the figure's suit that has the glossiness I actually find that to work sometimes (depending on the character though).

As for current waves i got what i've wanted from the GOTG wave, i however still haven't seen the X wave anywhere here yet neither....

i think the Punsiher wont show up anymore in south florida thou, you can buy him on ebay now. i feel your pain, im in south flo also. nothing yet, im assuming x-men wave comes out in early April down here, ive stopped hunting for cyclops cuz i think i was hunting too early. i did see dazzler at a east hialeah walgreens so they are slowly coming in...

never ran across this particular dude before....

TheBlueMarvel 03-30-2017 01:44 PM

@Dark

I wasn't aware of that dude either. Neat vid, he made me laugh with his cussing and frankness about some lines. I got to about 30mins....I'll check the rest later.

About the glossiness of new Legends, sure, I notice it all the time. I like it, actually. Works well with lapping flames, giving the impression of a sheen of sweat. With my current penchant for hellscapes, it works for me.

I've seen figs with a wash and the difference is dramatic, but I still haven't determined whether the effort is make or break for me...some of the full-repaints of newer heads are far more compelling IMO.

Augustus_Cole 03-30-2017 02:35 PM

@TBM... oh i def didn't sit and watch the entire thing...i did some selective skipping through...and yeah..he was a character. Not even sure where I came across that vid...cause it wasn't youtube.

and for more mindless toy talk...
we had some discussions about how we make not like a figure we see when it's first revealed...and discuss what we dont' likea about it...
only later to see that in person the figure had some great traits and it ends up being a purchase.

Well to this day...THAT JUGGERNAUT BUILD A FIGURE in any picture i see STILL looks goofy (uppper vs lower body proportions)...and then i glance over at it on my shelf..and think how cool it looks in hand...

see..mindless...

TheBlueMarvel 03-30-2017 02:44 PM

@Dark

Yup. For me, that fig is Shatterstar...totally badass.

yo...first..i was already a S-Star fan..i was buying that comic when it was new mutants and when it switched over to X-force..
The fig ..while a great reveal..looked a tad bit bland..but who gives AF..it's an x-force fig..
In hand....this thing is BAD-ASS for real!!!!!
I'd really love more New Mutants/(original) X-Force figures.

more randomness..

sometimes i feel like the....'cohesiveness' of a line...makes it more attractive. (RE: this last x-wave)
love all the figs...but they were all over the place...but that's fine...just my perception.

okay..i'm off to the disney store with a 50% off coupon...gonna grab that drax and Quill from the Select line.

TheBlueMarvel 03-30-2017 03:27 PM

@DTL

I am NOT a Shatterstar fan, but I had to admit to myself that the fig is pretty damn dope! lol

This is real. I didn't use to feel this way; as long as a few gems and few oddballs were delivered, I was good with buying the whole wave. However, continuity within a wave now makes the difference between "wave-nab" and "spot-collect."

Good luck with the hunt, B!

Oh yeah dude. For sure. It's been an issue ever since Hasbro took over, but it got really bad and noticeable when Infinite was launched. It makes the toys look unrealistic and cheap. The new Starlord figure gives me hope, but then we got Yondu who is shiny AF so who knows. I think Hasbro is improving lately though.

I've yet to see this wave at retail, too. I've seen the GotG wave and remnants of the X-men wave, but no Mr. Sandman.

no soul gem- that's not Vision anymore- That's Iceman without the goofy ice patches or rubbery arms/legs
(...but in regard to the cape- it's with The White Queen)

Looks great! Love that era! The Blue and Gold Team + Emma, Cannonball, Magik, Moonstar, Forge, Syrin, Jubilee, Forge, Havok, Madrox, Polaris, Domino, Cable, Kitty, nightcrawler, Monet, Syrin and Warpath are all the X-Men I would ever need, and everyone except Emma and Monet (at first), Moonstar and Magik were featured heavily on a team or backup. Wish we could go back to those days.....

Seriously, the only really great X-character created post 2000 has been X-23. Some of the New X-Men like Dust, Hellion, Elixir, Anole and Mercury are passable but just barely.

you're right- X-23 is probably the last fully realizd character. i think when one guy (claermont) writes a book for so long you mostly have the same characters that get time to be developed and grow with new characters only popping up when the story calls for it.Since then it's just been every new creator wanting to introduce their own characters- who immediately get dumpd by the next guy on he book... I read IvX and didn't know maybe 1/2 or more of the players and I've been reading Marvel books for 30+yrs

This is all kinds of beauty trapped in one photo. Magnificent display! I'm excited to see where this goes.
