I need one myself, Ive made a offer on one on ebay priced at 19.99 and never had a counter offer. How much did you end up paying dude?

Jimmyo 07-12-2015 04:01 PM

Kevin saved me making one myself, I have so many half finished projects on the go that finding a decent base and then the time to work on anything is impossible right now, I have so many unpainted heads primed and ready to go

Hey mate when you say dark Spidey, do you black suit spiderman?

omrih 07-12-2015 10:56 PM

Where are you guys pre-ordering the next few waves from?

yeah that was the same seller I tried (streakydwarf I believe), dont see the point in having the offer option if you are not gonna even bother replying to people :/

I got it for under £20 total from a US seller, still expensive for one figure but I only do it for ones Ive been after for a while and have had trouble finding.

Goldengreg 07-13-2015 12:36 AM

I may be mistaken, but I'm sure that Forbidden Planet always gets some SDCC Figs everyyear so it could be a good way to get your Hank Pym set?

jedirulz123 07-13-2015 01:37 AM

Ah, goodness. I've paid much more than £20 for some figures - both TIH movie Hulks cost me about £30 each.
I should really stop buying figures at such an expense.

Pilkster 07-13-2015 01:46 AM

Anti venom has been the most expensive single figure at £35, I have paid £20 on the odd occasion for 1 or 2 single figures but Im always happy to wait for a better deal or buy in bulk so I can average it out.

ukmu 07-13-2015 04:16 AM

I wish I could boast that.... I have paid through the nose for some!

Galactus, Taco Truck set, SHS Beast, most of the Wrecking Crew were £25 or so, TaskMaster, Enchantress, Firestar, SHIELD & HYDRA goons, transparent Carnage, Astral Dr. Strange, my custom Arnim Zola wound up costing quite a bit after buying all the parts....

A Friend 07-13-2015 08:47 AM

Found the Ant-Man Marvel Legends in my local Disney Store today for £22.95. No Ant-Man but all the others were there. They all looked fantastic. If I had enough, I would have got them all in one go but I only had enough for one. Went with Grim Reaper. Loving the crazy face!

This is true. But there's usully a pretty big markup. I went for prordering online (eBay) and right now think I've spent too much. The set has already dropped $20 and is still falling in price. I paid £105, but I think in the end this thing will be available for closer to £70.

They all look fantastic. It's one of the things that genuinely sticks in my craw about the Legends / Infinite lines; they are *pouring* love onto Legends, and massively withdrawing it from Infinite. I've said it before and I'll say it again; nobody will convince me that they aren't subsidising Legends with Infinite, the profit margins on one are so much higher than the other. If Legends were prices like Infinite they'd all be $50 each.

ukmu 07-13-2015 11:00 PM

Alternatively, if they looked like MI they'd be $8.... ;)

Or they would just call them Mashers!!! Ha, thought of that one twenty minutes later so I had to go back and edit!

You seen the interview ShartimusPrime did with a couple of Hasbro guys at the Marvel booth? That might make you think about it a little differently.

jedirulz123 07-14-2015 12:48 AM

Alright lads, come vote on the MU contest thread - there's 4 entries, every vote counts!

ukmu 07-14-2015 02:58 AM

....voted.

a lot of people spend some time making this stuff, and someone is giving away a lot goodies. I figured it is our duty to spend 5 minutes to show some love to those that did the customs and to Ky for putting it together.

Same here but just Ant-Man and Wasp. They're now minus Ant-Man... Not sure why I bought him when I'm having a clear out, though.

Whether I'm having a clear out or running out of space rapidly, I always end up giving into temptation and getting another! I should really stop that...

I saw it. As far as I'm concerned two people lying in front of a camera doesn't make it any more credible than a faceless press-release. The main problem I have with the lies they tell is this; what is true for one line *must* be true for the other. Notice the scale-back in artic was not matched with either a slight drop in price *or* a maintaining of price - nope - a big increase. A big drop in quality and a big hike in price - that doesn't feel right. But hey, I can't just say 'they're lying', because if we look at Legends we'll see that the same is happening, right? Oh. Apparently in order to make 4 inch figures viable, you need to cut all artic out, give them no accessories, basic paints, generic boxes, and hike the price up to $15 (even though they are smaller, and cost less to ship a larger amount). But for 6 inch figures the rules all change (for some reason); you can have 3 times the plastic, tons of accessories, chunks of a build a figure, better sculpts, paints and artic, and re-closable boxes - all for $25 (even though they are larger, and cost more to ship a larger amount).

See? The rules for one seem to vanish for the other - that's why I call bull.

But hey, we know I'm wrong because a guy who has said several times *in front of people* that he doesn't care about the Infinite line and thinks 4 inch is for kids and that 6 inch is the collectors line said so, so we should believe him.

Look at it this way; if people quit Infinite for Legends because the value and quality isn't there - he wins, because Infinite stops selling and Legends sell more. But if people keep buying Infinite, he proves cheaper figures make money and uses their wide profit margin to subsidise improvements in Legends.

Heads Legends win; tails Infinite loses.

*None of the above was aimed at you A Friend - just a general rant summing up my feelings*.

ukmu 07-15-2015 04:30 AM

I'm with you!!!! It is all A Friends fault! Let's get him!

Universe 07-15-2015 05:06 AM

My thoughts exactly, Lionheart. You would see a huge drop in quality across the board for all their toy lines; but lo and behold, Legends are saturated all over retail with more waves than ever. Vonner left, so did the heart and soul of MU in my opinion (cause and effect). Some of the new figures I am very excited for, like Spiderman Noir, simply because of the excellent articulation it comes with using an old buck. The rest will probably be cherry picked, only to fill the vacancy of the characters I don't have in my collection.

But hey plastic costs a lot, so let's make more and more Mashers!! It's magic plastic that costs less...k. Or 2.5 with vehicles that heroes ride but not really. More good ideas, right? Really seeing them "try" to save money on production costs, all the while churning out nonsense products that have no relevance (why would war machine ride a motorcycle?) makes me question thier intentions. Yes yes, the kid argument. Well when I was a kid, I personally liked Batman in the standard colors but instead I got to choose him in every color of the rainbow except the real color scheme because toymakers just didn't get it. These guys just don't get it; I smell ego more than I see a problem with "costs" from these guys.

What? Lies, all lies! *sniff* I love both the 6 inch and 4 inch figure lines! I care about them as much as you do!
