Anyway, trying to get back in the right frame of mind after a few really s***e weeks and needed a new project. Managed to bid and win a post-apocalyptic customised 69 Dodge Charger. Gonna try and strip all the customised carp off it and see if I can get close to Robbie Reyes' ride. So while on the subject, don't suppose anyone has a Ghost Rider head going spare in their fodder box? Don't really want to pay inflated prices for a figure when I only need the head.

Pinged ya on facebook mate ;)

Thanks for posting these photos Pilk! Your collection is amazing and it's awesome to see it all in one place like that. I especially like the way you have grouped them.

And amazing customs as always. I love looking through these collection photos and finding the custom gems in with the rest.

Thanks dude. I'm the same. I like seeing what makes people collections personal to them. Most of us all have the same standard collections but it the little additions like extra accessories or the customs that take our fancies that make it special. Every collection I get to see someone always has that 1 custom that nobody else has that makes it that special.

Great stuff Pilk.

Would the right head on a MU Ghost Rider suffice for Robbie Reyes?

Got the Scarlet Spider comic pack for $13 shipped on eBay from a seller only about 10 miles from me so should be here next week.

Ninjinister 09-18-2016 09:22 PM

Pilk you ever have troubles with things falling off? I ended up having my rarest TMNT fig break by having them on shelves up so high.

Not had anything fall to be honest. Most things are on stands in the closed cabinets and the wall shelves are resided back on a slight angle with the figures leaning backwards too.

I've personally never had a problem with figures breaking after a fall. My DCM CR Superman fell many times before I propped up Killer Croc and thankfully Supes doesn't have any damage(though there are some odd scratches on the back of his head, but they don't seem to be a big deal right now). I don't have him on a stand right now due to the only compatible one I have actually making him more susceptible to falling, but I do plan to put him on a stand in the future due to his rarity. Although I don't have too many stands, and don't PREFER to use them, I think they're good for rare figures or figures that have sensitive paint apps(cough cough Doctor Who 3.75 and etc).

So yeah, if you're having a falling problem, best to use stands if possible, or just prop them up on something like I did with Croc.

That's just general advice, though.

Yes. I've been meaning to get a copy to Vortious to add to his store forever along with around a dozen heads, and a couple torsos..I'm the one who made his Coulson heads.been too busy with non toy stuff, and pretty much stopped casting for a little. This forum won't let me post pics, guess I'm too new still? lol.

Lol,yeah I know how to use this style forum. I'm trying to build my post count without being too terribly annoying:)

Seems that way. Usually it's 10 posts on most forums. I broke that with this one,so possibly time too? crazy. What about the guys that sign up just to post customs?

Wow! I didn't know that existed,or was even coming out! I'm not happy about the 5poa tho. I use the ML BAF as my giant man. Still not big enough tho,at least IMO.

Many of us here were looking at it, hoping it was close enough to 3.75" scale to use as "regular size" Lang.

How big is it compared to your standard sized MU?

I have to ask. What are those two custom heads and where do they come from? The Cap head looks like it would make a great Human Torch.

Yeah, considering that nobody's seen the darn thing in person that I know of, we're not sure. The hope is that it's at least close enough to count.

They are both shrunken Marvel Legends 6" heads. One is from the recent Captain America,One is from the recent Chameleon. They came from my molds,I made them. I am Contraband,Vortious's apprentice from back in the day.

That particular Cap head would be too large for most Marvel bodies. It was sized for that buck, and it's only 40% reduced. normal MU bucks with modern ML 6" heads require 50% reduction...It does exist in that size tho. I made one for the new larger gijoe 50th gungho buck before this cap buck came out.

http://i1254.photobucket.com/albums/...81C81FEF0A.jpg

Here's a pic with the originals

http://i1254.photobucket.com/albums/...53883470AF.jpg

Wasp also exists in two sizes. One for the Marvel infinite body, one for gijoe female bucks. The top pic Wasp is 55% reduced, the bottom one is 50% reduced.

I'm pretty sure my wife has sold several of each on eBay along with my TWD shrinks? I give her my spares, she's a SW figure collector...uses the money to buy whatever SW fans buy, more stormtroopers I reckon?

Those are excellent. If you make more available (I don't use ebay) I'll buy from you for sure. I won't buy from Vort due to his insane backlog and wait time, but if you have heads available I'll add you to my buy list along with Nomad. Drop me a PM anytime you've got some for sale.

Nice collection, Pilk! I always look for customs in collection pics. Anyone can buy stuff at retail, it's the little extras that make a collection stand out, and that's usually custom pieces.

Speaking of customs, you haven't posted any in a while. What's up with that?

Yellow plastic is easy to paint on. It's painting yellow onto plastic that's a pain.

Well crap! I wasn't going to spend (waste) money on Hydro-Man but that head is perfect for a custom I need to make. Crap. I'll wait til it drops in price...

Lol@nomad. Good luck with that tho,Lolz. Got nothing else nice to say,so I'll keep it to myself.

As for Vortious that's a shame. He tries very hard to help other customizers out,and get everyone taken care of. He's genuinely good people, and besides a mentor all those years ago,he's a good friend. We have never met,but I would seriously go up north, and hang out with him,..in the summer of coarse. I live in Florida and don't have good cold weather temperament..

Practice makes perfect! you just gotta try. I came from a scale modeling background,so coming to an even larger scale(1:18) after that is like cheating. I got dragged into this by my young son who LOVES spider man figures&toys, and my wife who had me repaint her SW figure's heads.

Here's one I painted:

http://i1254.photobucket.com/albums/...BDED2EAE0F.jpg

It's a slightly reduced fss bombstrike cast. I had a bunch of pics of "how too" for another customizer...if I still had them I'd PM them to you.

Mordiganne 09-20-2016 04:32 PM

I haven't had any issues with Nomad. Don't have any issues with Vort either. Just not keen on waiting months to finish a custom. Last status was he's got a 6 month wait time. If he's caught up I'll buy from him too. Doesn't matter to me, I just want get parts in a timely fashion. Anyway, politics aside, you want to sell some heads, drop me a line. :)

And to bring this back on track, here's a teaser for the next batch (after the one in progress). You EMH fans might recognize where this is going...
