I have about 6 spider-man legends in MOC, just sitting on a windowsill in my comic/toy room. I guess for me i like not only having spidey figures displayed on one of my shelves but specifically having them stil sealed up crisp. To me i think it's cool. Only other one i haven't opened YET is the one Deadpool i got. I want him opened but it's still a hard to find figure so i've been ify.

I don't necessarily think it'll be TV figures but may just motivate Hasbro to do them at all. I'm surprised they haven't already done them, actually.

I think Diamond did a Marvel Select version of them tho.

I have doubts that the costumes will even be in the show but I could be wrong. I'm already put off by the show though because it's gonna be on freeform (previously known as abc family) so I'm pretty confident that it's not gonna be catering to or targeted towards fans of the comics in any way past using the characters. I also don't recall seeing that any part of Marvel studios will be involved beyond production so that might not be so great and then I'm also not sure if it's gonna be a part of the MCU at all or just its own thing which could be confusing.

There is a Select figure of Cloak and Dagger but it is one of their very old and very limited articulation figures. Cloak was literally just a prop with no moving parts and then Dagger only had a few ball joints with some hinging limbs (she had about 12 points of articulation). This also isn't a figure that has aged with grace, neither figure's sculpt was really awesome for their time and by now I feel confident that Hasbro could do so much better (chiefly they could make Cloak a body so he isn't just a head floating in a bed-sheet).

I probably would've kept most of my Marvel Legends figs MIB, but dang it... like 90 percent of the time part of the box is creased. Like the Deadpool I found had a perfect box except the hook part was creased... it just bothered me too much, so I just opened it... same with Rogue and Angela.

It's almost certainly going to be in the MCU, but it might not be super connected to the events of the MCU, kinda like the Netflix shows at this point.

I hear that. I got a rough estimate of about 60 of them opened and displayed.

I've considered getting that set before, but Cloak is really just a hollow accessory. So you're really only getting Dagger and an accessory. If he were a figure of normal MS release I would have already gotten, but I just can't with it how it is.....:(

hasbroherofan 04-07-2017 08:17 AM

Yeah those older MS figures sometimes feel really hollow. Ultimate Hulk was like that too.

The existence of the set has been mentioned by many sites during the Toy Fair event, but no details have been released. With its secrecy, I'm assuming this set and the Thor: Ragnarok sets will be kept for reveal at SDCC.

I really don't have a preference for the Capcom figure, but I'm kinda hoping the Marvel figure is Mvc2 Psylocke. I'll take her anyway I can get her.

Oh hells yes, that'd be awesome! The SDCC X-Force Psylocke was a bit out of my price range and poor ol' ToyBiz Betsy is looking more and more out of place as my X-shelf becomes increasingly populated with newer style (larger headed) Hasbro figures. Also, her paint sucks. I have 8 more of her, still MIB. I found them on clearance - thought they'd be good custom fodder. Haven't made many customs... anyone wanna buy a boxed ToyBiz Psylocke? :D

...anyway, I'd be all in on an upgrade.

So it's a one off MvC set - rather than a wave or entire line? If so, I think we'd be -incredibly- lucky to get Betsy. So many higher profile characters. It'd be great to see a line of 2 packs, with say 9 waves over 3 years. 8 figures (4x 2-packs) per wave. That'd give us a great roster. They could save money on a lot of the Marvel stuff by reusing recent Legends, maybe just with variant heads and different paint schemes - and it would be a good opportunity to give people another chance to snag some sought after figures (pizza Spidey, recent Brown costume Wolvie). Maybe do Jim Lee Cyclops with removable jacket/swappable arms (never gonna happen, I know). It would also give them a reason to give us another stab at modular Iron Man and War Machine. I have the ToyBiz ones but they don't quite make the MvC cut.

Great. Now I'm too excited to sleep. I'll plan the first 4-5 waves in my head before nodding off, I'm sure.

Weapon X 04-07-2017 07:59 PM

Hmmm....I need an Old Man Logan figure for a custom, but I haven't been able to find one. I saw one at a Walgreens a while back when I got my Dazzler, and was tempted to get him but decided not to. I went back and he's not there anymore (or any of the rest of the wave for that matter....) and I checked numerous Targets, nothing.

I'm bummed out about this wave. I don't know why it's so hard to find.

Even though some of us have picked the wave up already, I wouldn't consider it officially out just yet. Most stores, both brick n motor and online, don't have the figures in stock just yet. I think mid-April was supposed to be the release date for the new X-Men wave. With Easter coming up next weekend and the 40th anniversary Star Wars figures supposedly coming out then to coincide with Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, I'd say that there is a good chance that some stores will start rearranging their toy aisles and putting out new stuff.

hasbroherofan 04-08-2017 05:44 AM

Now that the Black Order are gonna be in the next Avengers movie maybe Hasbro will do Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight. I've been wanting those two for a while.

People who were at the show said Hasbro showed off the logo for the new game, so unfortunately I don't think it'll be Psylocke.

I don't think I believe that anymore, I've never heard of a toy company doing this. It's been spotted too many places already.

We'll see though.

Targets and Walgreens, but no other brick-and-mortar stores. So there's still a LOT of places it hasn't shown.

good point, i noticed myself that they sell figures that coincide with conventions and movies as well

After some thought, this two-pack is making me wonder how exactly this will work out. A single Capcom character released within the Line of hundreds of Marvel characters seems odd. Not sure where I'd put him or her. That's why when it was announced, I assumed it would be more than a one-off two-pack. Also, does Hasbro even have access to the Capcom franchise of characters? If not, this could possibly just be another two-pack with the Marvel characters from the game.

I could definitely see the Black Order being an upcoming SDCC exclusive. If not, I think you're right in Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight getting single releases. In my opinion, they seem to have more notoriety, than the other members.

Regarding Psylocke, just wishful thinking on my part.

hasbroherofan 04-08-2017 10:01 AM

Yeah I'd love a Jim Lee style Psylocke. I've seen people get good use out of the unmasked Silk headsculpt for customs.

SymbiSpidey 04-08-2017 10:06 AM

I really hope the MvC 2-pack isn't just an excuse to give us another Captain America, Iron-Man or Spider-Man, which I'm afraid it might end up being. I want to see an updated Jim Lee Storm, or Psylocke or Doctor Doom, or anybody that we don't already have 50 million figures of.

But like I said, my gut tells me it's gonna be something along the lines of "Captain America/Ryu 2-pack" and as much as I like Cap, I can't get excited for another Cap figure.

hasbroherofan 04-08-2017 10:23 AM

As I said, the logo Hasbro showed was specifically from the new game, so I don't think we're getting any 90's/Jim Lee looks from the older games, unfortunately.

I'm sort of predicting it'll be exactly what you hope it isn't: A new Capcom figure packaged with a rerelease or slightly repaint/retool of an existing Marvel Legends fig. The Capcom figures would likely require new sculpts and Hasbro loves saving money when possible.

I'd dig a Corvus Glaive
