She is in the rumoured Thor wave, but of course that might not be accurate or it might be the comic version.

I think it would work as an alternate head sideways. They might have to exclude a BAF piece though.

True, I wonder why this is. Hopefully it will change.

I did not think the trailer for Ragnorok was all that. I actually though it kind of sucked. Outside of Hela, Hulk, and the ridiculous image of Executioner dual wielding assault rifles like some kind of Frank Castle knockoff, I honestly can't remember anything about it.

Nor...did I care.

I think Spielberg might have been right when he said that within a few years, the danger of superhero exhaustion with movie goers and even fans could set in, which could endanger the genre altogether. With me, I'm really starting to feel it.

I haven't bothered with Agents of Shield since the first season. I struggled to get through Iron Fist (nevermind that it was a pretty awful show to begin with, but I struggled with Luke Cage and Daredevil season 2 as well, and I'm a fan of those characters.) I have not seen a Marvel Studios Film in theaters since Age Of Ultron. I couldn't find myself getting excited at all over Civil War, Logan, or Deadpool, despite the rave reviews. Spider-Man Homecoming has me shrugging my shoulders with indifference, and I'm actually disgusted that Venom and Black Cat are getting their own films in a completely separate comic universe, and those are two of my favorite characters of all time.

Truthfully, I'm feeling the burnout from all of the superhero stuff. I've kept up to date by buying the DVDs when they come out, but usually they end up being one and dones for me, with me barely remembering anything about them. I keep telling myself that I will go back and watch some of them again, but I never do, and I find myself not caring if I do.

Superhero films used to be an event, something that would happen only once every two to four years, but now that Hollywood has seen how much it's raked in, it's just getting beyond ridiculous. We're now getting an average of 5 films a year, and from the moment they are announced, we are bombarded with ads, logos, promotions, commercials, teasers, trailers, teaser trailers for trailers, endless speculation/rumors/spoilers/whining on the internet, and of course, toys...and it's becoming exhausting.

And it's not me hating on Marvel as well, neither trailer from the upcoming DC stuff raised my pulse, and when I saw that Michael Bay had another dozen or so Transformer films on the helm with studio support, I had to stop and shake my head thinking, "Why?, and is it really necessary?"

Sorry if I took a dump in everyone's cereal...but I just had to get it off my chest. If you enjoyed the trailer, I'm glad you did. Me...I just wanted something more...or maybe less. What though exactly, I have no idea.

Honestly, from the way you're talking, you sound like you just need to take a break from superhero related media for a while. And in this day and age, it's not like something's gone forever if you miss a tv episode or a movie. I've had to do this myself over the years and I've found it very helpful.

Pretty much sums up why I never bought the Tie Fighter. It's even crazier when you think about Hot Toys doing vehicles. They've shown some Batmobiles that take up entire table tops. But I guess if you can afford to buy a Hot Toys Batmobile, you can afford the house needed to store something like that.

While I don't feel what you're feeling, I can kinda understand it. However, Executioner duel-wielding assault rifles is straight-out of the comics:

The could always detach Hela's antlers in the box.

We haven't actually gotten an individual MCU villain figure since Winter Soldier and even then Bucky was neutral by the end of the movie. For crying out loud the only way to get Ultron, the titular villain of his movie, was as a BAF in a wave that featured no characters from said movie. At least we're getting a Vulture, oh wait his wings are the BAF element

I wonder if they plan on doing Thanos as another BAF as well.

Itd be nice to get a movie version as i love the detailing on his outfit.

Captain Nash 04-11-2017 07:01 AM

Yeah even as someone who's not really into the figures for the MCU version of the characters for the most part, I can definitely see the need for more of the villains to be made. I believe we got an MCU Loki in select but never in Legends right? If that's correct that's just baffling. Honestly the main reason I suspect there will be another Thor wave is that there is no comic or MCU Loki present in the rumored line up. However, if either or both are in multi packs that would be coming, my thoughts on a second wave are pretty much nullified.

Well, it's not like it's a tooling that they could use for multiple items.

Having said that, I agree that the price is a bit steep.

Love Dan Brereton's stuff...one of my more favorite painter/illustrators. Really enjoyed DC's Giantkiller, which functioned as my introduction to him. I enjoyed his art so much, that I went back and grabbed up Nocturnals...

hasbroherofan 04-11-2017 09:49 AM

I agree with the square footage being an issue though. Toybiz was better about doing vehicles in the six inch scale, but unless they were cars or motorcycles they were usually really badly scaled. I have the old X-Jet from the 2005 X-Men line and it's way too small.

warmachine6 04-11-2017 10:14 AM

Hasbro is trying to bring vehicles into their line which is the vulture wing BAF gimmick , which yes i know should have been a stand alone thing. like the comic vulture vs spidey pack. it's seems the only way they can on a budget.

I wonder how many reys will sell , this could be a test to see if vehicles will sell well in the star wars line like that tie-fighter. Star wars is more popular than marvel so these risks i guess are worth it. I think hasbro's last ever vehicle was the ghost rider bike from the movie.

I can't see them doing anymore for marvel at least, Vulture wave imo doesn't have that many "must have" figures. For me the juggernaut wave had i.e iceman , wolvie, green phoenix , deadpool, cable, rogue and kitty pryde, to me that line had me sold with characters despite the baf. that wave is a Build An Accessory.. which is a bit meh.

I think if anything the only marvel vechile we shall get is a ghost rider bike, something like lola might be too much that speeder is only $60 so that vehicle costs like $40 anything bigger might be around the $100 like a car without the figure, which might be basic as well.

TheBlueMarvel 04-11-2017 10:20 AM

With fifteen 65L containers, two 68L bins, and two giant sterilte clearview latch tubs all filled to the brim with bagged loose figures from Legends, DCUC, boxed-Gothitropolis/Ravens/Mythic Legions, assorted SWB/MOTUC/Mezco/Fewture/Mcfarlane figs, plus accessories...I'm glad there are no vehicles aside from a couple of Ghost Rider bikes/atomic steeds/goblin gliders in my collection. Space is becoming an issue for a collection that is still growing. I'll need more bins very soon with a full allotment of Articulated Icons/KS on the way, up-coming waves of Legends, and more Mythic Legion figs I plan to buy in the after market...

Vehicles, for me, are cool in theory, but not so much in actuality...plus, cars and jets are very rarely in scale at 1:12, truthfully speaking.

Boy Blunder 04-11-2017 10:35 AM

On the subject of vehicles, does anyone know a good substitute for Dreadknight's Hellhorse at the 6" scale? Once I have more display room, I'd love to get something to sit Bram on and make his lance look less unwieldy. Even if it's not the Hellhorse itself.

There was a Walmart exclusive Avengers Loki in 2012, which was rereleased in the international “Best of” Hulkbuster BAF assortment last year. So there have been a grand total of three 6” MCU villains released by Hasbro:

- An undersized Iron Monger from the 2008 Iron Man line
- Walmart Avengers Loki
- Ultron BAF

If you want to stretch it, we can count Winter Soldier and Karlo Mordo. Luckily Vulture is coming, and Ego might end up being the main GOTG2 villain, and we know he is coming out too. If we could get Hela and an updated Loki for Ragnarok, it would be a big step in the right direction.

here here. The ONLY vehicles I own are from the Star Wars 3.75 line. And even then it took me over a decade of collecting to get more than just the Falcon, due to cost and space issues. And even once I did bite that bullet, I only went with it for a couple of years at most (read about 15-20 smaller/mid-sized vehicles, and three or four larger ones.) If you don't have the space for it, it's not a question of desire it's a question of practicality. And I'm sure Hasbro knows this and that's why you don't see so many vehicles outside of Star Wars.
