Woke up early to pick up some of the SDCC and SW Celebration "exclusive" POPs that hit stores first thing this morning, as well as order some other SDCC (lol) "exclusives" online.
Now, after a long day at work, followed by attending the IMAX 3D premiere of Star Trek: Beyond, I finally have a free second to post my purchases.

And, here's the cool commemorative Starfleet pin given to IMAX premiere attendees.
I miss the high-quality, glossy prints that the theater used to give out on the night of an IMAX premiere, but this pin was a pretty cool, and unexpected, consolation prize.

Not surprising after filing chapter 11, canceling all gift cards/credits, and suspending rentals.

The store has a ton of cool stuff but they seem to sell half of it above even MSRP (which no one pays). They wanted to fail. Hopefully the sales will be huge.

Yeah, the MovieStop near me is owned by Hastings and is closing too, and at this point, nearly everything good from their formerly impressive action figure section is gone.
BUT I managed to snag some good deals. The Sarah Connor and Tom Petty figures I posted earlier this week were less than $10 each, the Teen Titans Blu-Ray (with Damien figure) was only $12, and I scored about 10 ReAction figures for about $3 or $4 each. As much as I like that line, $10 is far too much to pay, IMO, but I can rationalize $3 or $4 for them.

Plain and simple all the legacy green ranger stuff man the light box is from Ikea. I plan in researching if the have a bigger one that'll hold all three items. Also I need to find a clear watch holder so the communicator isn't just sitting there. Funny note my ps4 controller is what's keeping the dagger up like that.


I have the white ranger morpher and can swap the communicator pieces out to show you what that might look like.

I got a second Icons Harley Quinn, Marvel Legends MCU Black Panther, Batman Automobilia Die Cast Bat Train and the 1/6th Scale Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly / Serenity by QMX. I have only owned a handful of 12 inch figures and I always hate having to fuss with the figure and/or clothes to make it look right. Overall, I'm pretty happy with Mal. I would recommend it to fans of the show.

That Mal looks incredible !

I actually bought him with my tax refund and I'm just now getting him. I only have one Hot Toys (89 Batman) and I have had a few Sideshow Star Wars figures and Mal seems like he's pretty good quality for the most part. His jacket and articulation are particularly nice but the way the sleeves are stitched in his armpit, it's impossible to get him in a shooting pose. There are two different head sculpts included, but I have no idea why. Both heads have the same expression and one is much more realistic and has a better likeness to Nathan Fillion. It would have been better to lose the second head and have a rifle and some other accessories in its place. You should totally buy one.

While I'm bragging about my Firefly swag, here's a photo of a peice of artwork I bought a few years ago. It's from the cover of a Free Comic Book Day Serenity comic and the image was reused for the Leaves on the Wind Hardcover. It's by Daniel Dos Santos and is a print on canvas. It's as close to having the original as you can get. It's the same size as the original and is the only copy he had made, or at least that's what Dos Santos told me when I bought it. He told me not to post it on Facebook or other social media because since Fox owns the rights to Firefly, he could get in legal trouble for selling copies. I don't imagine that anyone on the Fox legal team is scouring toy collector forums, so I guess it's no big deal to put up a photo here. I had it professionally matted and framed at Michael's with special glass that keeps out damaging UV rays.

That's why I got him too. I like the SDCC one but it is just way too big to display with the 3.75" stuff all the time.

Really like those three in particular..I'm still on an Anti-Pop movement, but if I ever wasn't...would definitely own those three.
