So what drop dates are people expecting this for?
I am pretty sure Thor will be as early as August and maybe as late as October.
Spider-Man will be the first "2018" wave but will actually show up in December.
Deadpool will be January or February, as the movie comes out in February but they could release it after the movie in March 2018.
And Avengers wave one I'm guessing anywhere between January and March.

So really, the first quarter's of 2018 releases, unless one goes to 2017 officially because I really feel like they're going to do a Black Panther wave. I could be wrong though. I really hope I'm wrong. there's going to be some great opportunities that will go missing if there's not. Killmonger....Shuri...some of his bodyguards...a better Klaw. Ugh please don't let me down Hasbro.

And again I stress, even if it's late 2018 I hope the Deadpool wave does not take the X-wave slot for next year. I like Deadpool alright and I'm stoked we're getting a new Domino and X-23, but I'd really like something more well rounded. Villains for that matter, this will be three waves in and standard figure villains (Juggy as BAF) unless you count Deadpool who's more hero than villain these days.

We need Sinister, Apocalypse, Classic Mystique, Lady Deathstrike, Pyro, Avalanche...and the terror of the skies Sauron!

This "leaked" listing, and this new Vulture two pack are exactly why I'm getting burnt out on Legends and superhero stuffs in general. Too much of the same stuff being put out, with Hasbro often requiring us to pick up stuff we already spent hard earned money on, just to get what we really want. The **** that they just pulled with the Black Series Vader and Leia recently (by re-releasing them with improved sculpts, and in the case of Vader, with a cardboard stand that was apparently worth 20 bucks) was messed up and this Vulture two pack shipping with a lesser version of a figure we received last year is ridiculous. Add in all of the Spider-Men that I could give two ****s about (like Spider-Punk or another Spider-Woman,) an entire possible wave for Deadpool that feels unnecessary and also has several repeat characters that just received new figures, the heavy and un-needed push on Starlords, and it's no wonder that I'm finding myself feeling burnt out by the line. At this rate, this will most likely be my final year collecting these, because I'm becoming tired of wasting the money to keep up and complete the BAFs...

I do hear what you're saying. I get that Hasbro has to work both the "new collectors" or kids angle and the longer time/adult collectors angles. They cannot just put out a wave of obscure figures (especially in support of a movie) to please the long term collectors, because then the newer collectors will be wondering who the hell Sersi and Quasar (just examples) are and why they can't find Captain America and Iron Man.

Though as a long term collector I do understand where you're coming from. I think the only one that really burns me out badly is the Spider-Man figures...he's one guy (mostly okay two now and some clones)...how many versions of him do we possibly need? The answer sadly is however many the spider-man enthusiast will buy. But it's definitely a turn off if you're not a huge fan. I tend to look at Spider-Man waves with less and less interest now. And it's getting to the point with the other waves now too, particularly the movies. I don't need another Cap or Iron Man, but I do also get why they include them in.

I would personally be up for collector focused subscription exclusives. One per month, $30 plus shipping for absolutely never done before figures (or at least not just new costumes...they could be updates from Toy Biz's days). Maybe even have us vote on what's coming in the next year a few times a year. Oh what a pipe dream.

so yeah, I feel what you mean when you say you're burnt out. I'm burnt out of seeing so many repeats and only look forward to the brand new figures. I mean, hell, excluding the Thor wave, you take the new Spider-Man, Deadpool and Avengers waves and it's a grand total of 4 figures I'm likely to buy.

Maybe the sun is just setting on our collecting days, and we must hover around the little points of light (new figures) all the more. I just wish there were more of them, but honestly, I don't expect it to change. Especially while the movies are a thing. It's going to be 1/2 movies 1/4 repeats of non movies and 1/4 brand new figures, excluding the X-waves which are still being mined due to their hiatus for a few years. In fact, after the Thor release if there's no black panther, I can see me collecting the X-waves and a few odds and ends only.

burned out? what do you mean by that? you are not forced to buy the figures. unless you are repeating figures. i will never have this problem cuz im not one of those type of collectors that likes everything and thinks that every figure that comes out they have to buy it. i dont know, never did understand when collectors say they are 'burned out. either you collect or you quit collecting due to other reasons.

Thanks, this illustrates my point nicely. Different footwear, different jackets, different gloves, different belt, different head gear, no cape for Drew. The only things they share are that they both include trousers and pants, which is an incredibly low bar to call something derivative, and it is still less derivative than a spandex bodysuit.

It's the whole repetitive effect of seeing the same characters over and over. No, you are not forced to buy anything, but it's like you wish instead of the 30th Iron Man they're releasing, they could have released something else you might have wanted instead. No way around it though really, the longer you collect, the more you encounter it.

While I understand the frustration with the rereleasing of Leia only a couple months after she first came out, to be fair, the first version of Darth Vader came out 3 years ago, and people have been wanting a version with an improved sculpt since then. Also, we've known that the new improved Vader is coming single-packed without the display stand since before it came out.

this was the main reason what drove me away from marvel selects. making 20 movie versions of captain america, iron man, and winter soldier and not enough of other characters.

as far as legends go, i think they've covered a good amount of characters thus far. that was the reason that attracted me to legends in the first place. however the whole re-releasing the same figure over and over again does get old, but obvisously we don't have to buy something if we don't want to.

as far as the spider-man waves go, i tend to buy every single one of them by the case because im that kind of spider-man fan. remember there still is quite a few spider-man characters that they haven't done yet. yea i can understand where some of you kind of get annoyed with it.

True to the point on your second paragraph. They have put out an amazing number of individual figures. But yet the more they are put out the more they are doing to eventually duplicate themselves, even if it's a totally new costume. I think we're probably approaching that point as of 2018.

As for SPider-Man, see that is the beauty of this whole thing. I'm over the spider waves for the most part, but that's okay because there are super Spider-man fans like yourself that will appeal to. And it's a great opportunity for you to get those figures. Meanwhile some people (gasp!) dn't like X-Men at all, how I don't know but they don't. And that's okay too because we're still going to get X-waves and I will buy them for the most part. You're either winning by getting awesome figures you want, or winning by saving money on not getting them.

I say I'm getting burned out, but honestly, 2016 and 2017 filled a lot of really important spots for me that needed to be filled so it only can really go down from here. But even with that, it's not a completely good or completely bad thing. You must have darkness in order to have light...whoa meta... :p

Or...you simply get burnt out because you're tired of seeing the same **** shoveled over and over again at you endlessly. It's something that I mentioned recently about superhero movies, and it's starting to leak into the realm of toys as well.

Captain Nash hit a lot of it on the head, where it's difficult to find a balance between new and old characters to draw in new collectors while appeasing the older ones. New characters are ALWAYS welcome, but look at the endless amount of unnecessary repaints being shoveled our way greedily by Hasbro in that "leaked" list. When I saw ANOTHER proposed MCU Cap was on the way, (especially when there are still other MCU characters they have not got around to,) I wanted to puke. The Ultimate Spider-Man that comes with Vulture was completely not needed, as we JUST received that figure last year, meaning I will most likely have to resort to finding Vulture on his own on the secondary market, or will have to re-gift that Spider-Man to someone simply because there's no way I'll be able to get some of that money back trying to sell or trade him.

I get that..."you don't need to buy it..." idea. I've been collecting A LONG time, back from when Apocalypse had "extending" limb action and the Punisher had popper caps you placed in his back. I walk away from a lot of potential purchases every single time I go to my local TRU. At the same time though, Hasbro forces the hand in a way with the BAF system, which often at times is what ends up causing me to purchase some of these unnecessary figures in the first place, because often at times, the BAFs are staple characters to the collection, or proper versions of or larger characters we would not receive otherwise. It's either that, or spend hours of time scouring the internet or Ebay for loose parts or trades. Or, I can have the joy placing the recently purchased unwanted figure up on Ebay for free basically after Ebay and shipping charges take their cut. I'm almost at the point where I feel like doing what we here have typically frowned on, and just return the thing with some random BAF piece that I have lying around, because I'm tired of paying full price for Hasbro's half-hearted givings. I won't resort to that, because I have more integrity than that, but I can certainly understand how this element of our collector brethren came about.

And it's not just Legends where I'm feeling it. The Black Series has been getting away with it for years, especially as of late with the 40th anniversary series, as well as NECA. How many ******* different colored versions of Big Chap do we really need? And believe me, as a completionist on those lines, it's taken A LOT for me to get to that point.

Thanx. My Customizer made him for me. The Mask is from one of the earlier ML Wolverines but I had it casted for this Custom Wolverine. Its removable as well as his Head to Place the Masked Head on when needed.

You can find just about every recent BAF piece on EBay. There's no need to resort to that. The first time I saw that it pissed me off. If someone's going to steal, have some balls and steal the thing. Just because someone put a random POS in place of what they wanted, it doesn't change the fact that they stole something. I have a ton of figures I really didn't want just because I wanted the BAF. There will always be shit figures that fill in a BAF line, especially with the way Hasbro cranks out these BAFs. It doesn't seem like ToyBiz ever really had that big of a problem with repeats and repaints.

I will say, I can't justify buying another Hasbro version of Spider-Man. I might have to start getting into customizing if I have to buy another. It seems like I have 40 right now.

As Archangel said, it's not all that hard to find recent BAF pieces on eBay.

ToyBiz ran the line for 4 years. Hasbro's been running the line for 11 years now (even with the hiatus for a couple years in the middle, there were still some Legends coming out), and had ToyBiz's 4 years preceding it. If ToyBiz never died and had been doing Legends for the now 15 years the line has been going, you can bet they would have fallen into this problem of repeats and repaints.

Same basic style of Jacket (Though the cuts maybe different), similar shoulder embellishments, same over all 5 minutes away from being 5 minutes ago hipster feel. I notice you also left out the bottom illustration that showed other people noticing the overall similar feel to the costumes. Seven points of difference to avoid copyright infringement, so no they couldn't be identical, but hipster style cosutmes are hipster style. Also no one needs a 3rd Jessica Drew, the Thanos wave Jessica is pretty definitive. Unless the new one is going to be preggers, they can use the spider woman spot for a new character.
