I know, but you are talking about a Spiderman only line. Just like the xmen line was it's own line. Then there was marvel legends which covered all of marvel. It just so happened that both the spiderman and xmen lines released figures that worked for marvel legends

I know but im talking nowadays. I mean hadbro released that modular looking armor in the iron monger wave, released seceral new movie ones and are even recoloring his civil war armor into the....ugh....ultimate obe....but yet they will not release, with the new modern articulation a silver centurion armor. I hate it!

Sometimes I think they purposly avoid doing missing color schemes or armor types. Just like I can't believe they haven't done the man spider yet. Every so often I think about getting the toybiz version.

Wasn't the briefcase armor Iron man supposed to be considered the Silver Centurion armor...at least in the film continuity? If that is the case...Hasbro did give us one variation of the look...albeit the MCU one.

I feel you though...I still want a proper Ultimates Iron Man, complete with Anime proportions like the Select figure had. That sad, vacmetal excuse for the armor they gave us back with the Annihlus wave just doesn't cut it. I'm going to have to settle for the upcoming MCU one instead... :(

No..they actually did a "silver centurion" in iron man 3 he wore at the end when he fought killian, though it didnt last long, just long enough to fight. Hot toys did a figure of it but hasbro has yet to release either a movie OR comic version.....I would take either at this point.

The MCU Silver Centurion was Mark 33. It showed up at the end of IM3 as part of the house party protocol. Tony wore for maybe 2 minutes in the movie.

I wish my parents had taught me that. I had to rebuy quite a few once I got older.

But...I did have a lot of fun with them as a kid. Sometimes I wish toys were more sturdy so you could roughhouse with them. I miss making my toys fight.

Remember, these are toys being sold at mass retail, and a huge portion of the audience for Legends is still kids. Considering there hasn't been an X-Men cartoon on the air in over 8 years, and he hasn't appeared in a movie in the same amount of time, I wouldn't expect the majority of kids or parents to have heard about him, unless they've been keeping up with the news of the in-development Gambit movie, which the majority of them probably haven't.

I'm by no means saying that we're never getting a Gambit (we'll almost certainly get him eventually), I'm just saying he's not going to be headlining a wave anytime soon. Same with other characters. Unless they're Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man or Wolverine, or they're someone else who's a main character in a big movie, they're not going to be headlining a wave. They can be in one, but no way they're going to be headlining one.

I hear you, but X Force, Jubilee BAF wave, and Puck wave are some of the most popular waves to date, and there was no Spider-Man, Iron-Man or Cap in this wave. I see your point, but giving Hasbro a pass, not me. And, people, please stop saying this is a children's line...Most of the people who pick the selection of figures at SDCC are adults picking the next wave...Adults are the ones that have the money, and are usually collectors before their children, and are the ones who pass the hobby onto their children. But, to each is own, buddy...No harm, no foul, fellow Arker!

Ultimate Spider-Man JUST came out last year and there's likely still stores in the U.S. that haven't moved out the old Spider-Man waves to make room for the wave that he was in, not to mention this version comes with even less accessories. Releasing multiple versions of a character over a couple of years is one thing. Releasing the same character 3 times within the same year like they've been doing with Star-Lord, Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron-Man, etc., is absolutely ridiculous.

And as others have mentioned, yeah sure, we can simply not buy it, but when you're locking a BAF of a popular character behind a wave full of redoes and repaints of the SAME character or when you're packaging fan-requested characters in a $40 pack that includes a re-release of a figure you already have several times over, the complaints are perfectly valid.

And it's frustrating because they still have so much ground to cover with the Legends line, and they're wasting time on figures we already have. I honest to God thought it was dumb as hell that they'd sell us a Star Lord figure as part of the new Guardians wave, only to tell us maybe a couple of weeks later that they're selling the same Star Lord figure, except this time he comes with a brand new character in a web-exclusive 2-pk for 40 dollars.

In total agreement, Arker!

1) We're not saying this is a children's line, we're saying way too many children buy them to not take them into account.

2) You know what character those waves and that set did have? Wolverine, one of the four (not three) we mentioned as being the ones having to always be included in a wave. Our point still stands.

Captain Nash 04-18-2017 01:53 PM

So as it stands, every wave will likely have either a Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, Star Lord, Wolverine, Spider-Man or some variant there of. That is 1 out of 6-8 figures, maybe 2 at most (I don't think Hasbro overkills it more than 2 although there is that Infinity War wave that has three lol.) That still leaves 4-6 figures for the most part. If half of those are redos of more minor characters and we get 2-3 brand new never done before characters, I think that's acceptable to be honest. Yes, it may not be the figures we are personally wanting, and yes it means that the entire roster of Marvel characters (as if Hasbro or anyone could ever fill that) will take longer to fill...it's something.

If you remember my issue with the first X-wave, as great as it was, was that EVERY figure was a redo..there was not a single brand new never done before figure in that wave, and that irked me that we couldn't even get 1 out of 8 first figures. So like with that wave, if it were 2-3 new figures a wave, I'm happy to be able to pick and choose.

Jerseysteel 04-18-2017 02:03 PM

What I miss about Toybiz is they released whatever. Every wave didn't have a cap or iron man or wolverine. Personally I think it's Hasbro just being lazy and trying to maximize profits by rereleasing the same stuff over and over. Just look at all the lazy redecos they did for transformers combiner wars.

I think one of the main reasons juggernaut wave wolvie was and is in demand is that 1) it was one of his most iconic costumes and 2) he was for the first time in hasbros taking over properly sized and scaled, whereas most previous incarnations from hasbro in recent years ( x-force, axm) were very tall in consideration. I get hasbro and retailers wanna keep core characters in full view and all but in terms of legends i really dont see a whole lotta parents getting them for kids as the price tag is more than most parents wanna drop. Even the kiddified stuff ( 5 poa and titan heroes lines ) are climbing in price. Mu used to be what i saw but the crazy ass prices for what essentially are one nut hair above those dollar general marvel things killed that.

I don't have the BAF Galactus but I do have the Marvel Universe one, and I have to say I am completely happy with it. I think it's an exceptional stand in and may even be larger? I could be wrong on that

Ultimately I'd think whichever is cheaper is the way to go...they are both good (from having in hand on one, and reading reviews and seeing pictures and parts here and there on the other)

Yes, but...does the civil war stuff really count as releasing the same figures over and over if the wave never hits retail, like wave 3 did? I kid..mostly. I mean, I know it's online.

Honestly if I were Hasbro I'd be so mad about the Space Venom and Abomination waves. You know they likely made equal amounts of those waves as they did of the others..and retail just never ordered them. It's possible since there's not another Captain America movie we might see the Abomination wave hit this year, belatedly, but with 2-3 Spider Man waves a year, I don't think we'll have a time that retailers are going to be reaching for Spider-man stuff to put out.

I'm also hoping Hasbro has learned their lesson. A movie can support one wave for sure. Two waves max. Three waves is just asking for retail backlog stock disaster. Which is why when those rumors about a GOTG wave 3 were starting, I was very skeptical. I'm not saying fans wouldn't want to buy them...but it doesn't matter if they do or not if they don't ever make it to the stores. And to retailing systems a wave that includes fan favorites will be coded the same way as repackaged figures.

I here you on those points, Arker! But

1. Wolverine was an exclusive figure to SDCC and retail and a excellent, excellent mold, first (X-Force). So, when was made, with that great mold and great detail, too, in yellow/blue (X-Men) and black/silver uniform, he was a must have for any ML collector because of quality.

2. Funny, everytime I go to Target, Walmart, Walgreen or my LCBS in my area, the people who I see collect ML are around 20 year of age and Up! Well, Hasbro can still take the kids into account, and ML will end up like MU 3.75! Then, I will have jump of a bridge!...Lol

3. As a collector, quality matters more, that why I have two of the three Wolverines that were mentioned in the post above...But, I don't see buying another Spidey, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Wolverine, and a Captain America from Hasbro, unless the redo are done with quality...

But, look at the quality they put into the Warlock wave, even though there are some figures I am on the fence with, but the quality of most of the figures (Polaris, meh!) are great! Dazzler might be the best figure in the wave, Sunfire has great detailed mask, Shatterstar is awesome, and Colossus and Cyclops are so hot, they can't keep them on the shelves...And, Warlock, was down on him at first, but I so the quality and detail on him, I just can't pass him up...Good luck finding the wave, Arkers!

Space venom and that civil war wave were everywhere by me, but I ordered both of them from Wal-Mart when they were on sale.
