I feel you though...I still want a proper Ultimates Iron Man, complete with Anime proportions like the Select figure had. That sad, vacmetal excuse for the armor they gave us back with the Annihlus wave just doesn't cut it. I'm going to have to settle for the upcoming MCU one instead... :( |

I wish my parents had taught me that. I had to rebuy quite a few once I got older.
But...I did have a lot of fun with them as a kid. Sometimes I wish toys were more sturdy so you could roughhouse with them. I miss making my toys fight. |

2) You know what character those waves and that set did have? Wolverine, one of the four (not three) we mentioned as being the ones having to always be included in a wave. Our point still stands. |
So as it stands, every wave will likely have either a Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, Star Lord, Wolverine, Spider-Man or some variant there of. That is 1 out of 6-8 figures, maybe 2 at most (I don't think Hasbro overkills it more than 2 although there is that Infinity War wave that has three lol.) That still leaves 4-6 figures for the most part. If half of those are redos of more minor characters and we get 2-3 brand new never done before characters, I think that's acceptable to be honest. Yes, it may not be the figures we are personally wanting, and yes it means that the entire roster of Marvel characters (as if Hasbro or anyone could ever fill that) will take longer to fill...it's something.
If you remember my issue with the first X-wave, as great as it was, was that EVERY figure was a redo..there was not a single brand new never done before figure in that wave, and that irked me that we couldn't even get 1 out of 8 first figures. So like with that wave, if it were 2-3 new figures a wave, I'm happy to be able to pick and choose. |
What I miss about Toybiz is they released whatever. Every wave didn't have a cap or iron man or wolverine. Personally I think it's Hasbro just being lazy and trying to maximize profits by rereleasing the same stuff over and over. Just look at all the lazy redecos they did for transformers combiner wars.

Thinking about building Galactus and Mojo from the old ToyBiz line. Picked up these guys today...

Ultimately I'd think whichever is cheaper is the way to go...they are both good (from having in hand on one, and reading reviews and seeing pictures and parts here and there on the other) |

Honestly if I were Hasbro I'd be so mad about the Space Venom and Abomination waves. You know they likely made equal amounts of those waves as they did of the others..and retail just never ordered them. It's possible since there's not another Captain America movie we might see the Abomination wave hit this year, belatedly, but with 2-3 Spider Man waves a year, I don't think we'll have a time that retailers are going to be reaching for Spider-man stuff to put out. I'm also hoping Hasbro has learned their lesson. A movie can support one wave for sure. Two waves max. Three waves is just asking for retail backlog stock disaster. Which is why when those rumors about a GOTG wave 3 were starting, I was very skeptical. I'm not saying fans wouldn't want to buy them...but it doesn't matter if they do or not if they don't ever make it to the stores. And to retailing systems a wave that includes fan favorites will be coded the same way as repackaged figures. |

1. Wolverine was an exclusive figure to SDCC and retail and a excellent, excellent mold, first (X-Force). So, when was made, with that great mold and great detail, too, in yellow/blue (X-Men) and black/silver uniform, he was a must have for any ML collector because of quality. 2. Funny, everytime I go to Target, Walmart, Walgreen or my LCBS in my area, the people who I see collect ML are around 20 year of age and Up! Well, Hasbro can still take the kids into account, and ML will end up like MU 3.75! Then, I will have jump of a bridge!...Lol 3. As a collector, quality matters more, that why I have two of the three Wolverines that were mentioned in the post above...But, I don't see buying another Spidey, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Wolverine, and a Captain America from Hasbro, unless the redo are done with quality... But, look at the quality they put into the Warlock wave, even though there are some figures I am on the fence with, but the quality of most of the figures (Polaris, meh!) are great! Dazzler might be the best figure in the wave, Sunfire has great detailed mask, Shatterstar is awesome, and Colossus and Cyclops are so hot, they can't keep them on the shelves...And, Warlock, was down on him at first, but I so the quality and detail on him, I just can't pass him up...Good luck finding the wave, Arkers! |
