I would have but my PayPal was hacked so I got rid of it

No Vulture packs at my Walmart at all.
Oh, but they were putting out 6 cases of the Sandman wave and this one dude bought every Ms Marvel and Green Goblin they had. Clearly the jackass was a scalper and he is lucky I did not need anyone from the wave. |

Ditto on Hasbro's poor distribution. It's not even limited to Marvel Legends. I remember not EVER seeing Black Series 6-inch General Hux at retail until like a couple of months ago when I found him randomly at GameStop.
Hasbro, I want to give you money. Why are you making it so hard for me to do that? Speaking of which, the Homecoming wave figures are up for order on Amazon...except for Moon Knight a.k.a. the one I wanted most. I'm sure that he's going to be a scalper friendly figure just like Ghost Rider before him. For now, I just ordered Tombstone. What's odd is that Amazon says they should be delivered before the end of the month. Not sure if it's a screw up on their part, or if these figures should actually be hitting retail next week. |
I'm glad to see that Death's Head II isn't going to come with a BAF piece. I've never been interested in the character and was sort of dreading having to get him to complete Mantis. I'm down for all the other figures, though I don't know anything about Ex Nihilo and Star-Lord will end up at the bottom of one of my figure bins alongside his most recent figure (comic version ftw).
Nebula and Gamora look fantastic. Rocket looks good and Mantis looks great. Adam Warlock will be a welcome addition (though I still wish it was the Tom Lyle costume from the 1999 mini series). Overall, a very decent wave in my opinion. |
Finished off the old ToyBiz Onslaught. That's a super cool BAF. Hasbro has nothing on those old BAFs. I should have Mojo done in the next week or two. We have a toy convention coming next week, so I'll hold out to see what pops up there before I hit EBay. A couple of my local comic shops came us with some nice ToyBiz collections at decent prices recently. Some of the EBay prices are astronomical. Hopefully I can come up with some Sentinel and Galactus pieces along the way. As for the new Guardians wave, ehh. I'm sure I'll end up with them all, but I won't be in a hurry.

Speaking of the homecoming wave, I'm shocked the wave is not up for preorder as of yet anywhere..
Back on flight stands or poseable legend stands. What do you guys recommend? I recall someone saying obitsu stands? Any other good ones? |

I finished reading the Spectacular issues of the Roger Stern Omnibus last night and I gotta say that those stories were on par with the stories I have read that Stan Lee wrote. Roger also made me like Beetle, which has never been done before. Peter is a pimp though. In the stories I have read over the last few months he has gone through Betty, MJ, Gwen, Debbie, and now Marcy (who I never knew about before as I don't remember her from any cartoon or the 90s comics). :D Only about 15 more issues until I get to Hobgoblin's introduction, I cannot wait!

You gotta pay attention to quantity changes....if you see the amount of X-Men figures at a store go from, for example, 4 to 12, then you know they got a case in, and it's likely the new figs. Look for huge increases in quantity at a particular store, at least 8+ or more. I'd recommend getting e-mail notifications from Brickseek for when stores change their quantity. That helped out a lot. As for Amazon and the Homecoming wave... Marvel Legends Spider-Man Homecoming Figures Up for Order! - Marvel Toy News Follow the links they list here |
The brickseek thing is a little too "feeling around in the dark" for my taste.
As for amazon, most of those links are sold out, or the figures shown are past figures. Too sketchy for me. |

And Brickseek's pretty easy once you get the hang of it, you just gotta finesse it a little bit ;) The only real issue with it is that since Hasbro likes to use the same UPC for multiple waves, it's difficult to distinguish between new product and old product. |
Okay but tell me this. Do you call before checking a store? How accurate are employees at knowing what is in stock?

Play Arts stands are bulky as well, but can still be made use of. My only gripe with them is that they tend to be a bit fragile and seem to break quickly. You can also pick these up individually on sites like ebay. Quote:
As far as employees knowing what's in stock, it largely depends on how much they care about their job, and how much of a rapport they have with you. It also will depend how much you believe them when they tell you they have no additional stock in the back, which in most cases is true, but we refuse to accept that answer at face value. |

The best thing to do is become friendly with your local tru or walgreens employees and find out what days they get new stock. It becomes helpful, at least this way you know what days to take a drive to the stores.
