Not getting Robbie will bother me a bit but at the least Mephisto has been shown, which is what I really wanted. Of course I just hope he makes it. I love the paint on his torso. It reminds me of what they did with the Cyclops in the Toys R Us Phoenix 2 pack which for me may as well never have existed because I hunted and never found jack. The only thing I don't like about Mephisto is the feet. They should've given him some curly toed shoes.

The more Hasbro try to suck people into this Haslab, the more it makes me want to buy the Hot Wheels The Batman Batmobile RC out of spite.

"But it's just crazy uncle Mepho with the wild hair who fell into a pool filled with tomato sauce! No demon, really!" Oh well, at least we're getting him now. Or rather the people who buy this Haslab do ;) |

Sad to see Hasbro is gatekeeping Mephisto behind a $350 product. He is essential to many Marvel series.
The Marvel Select Mephisto's throne is especially harder to find as it is being used by a fair amount of MOTUC Collectors as Skeletor's throne. |

Late to the commentary but felt this was going to be a real challenge for Hasbro to get backed. I would probably want an updated Mephisto for this scale but have pretty much zero interest in this car and this Ghost Rider. But what sucks besides the price point (comparing it to other things including HasLab offerings, $250 would probably greatly increase this getting backed along with if this version of Ghost Rider will be part of the MCU right now), is that 12,000 backer threshold for Mephisto. For the price they're asking I'd want a far more definitive looking one, versus this thing that looks to me the planned mold for future Adam Warlock/Magnus (MCU or otherwise) with a different head and details. So Blackheart for 15,000? Hasbro should just show their hand soon with their planned tiers and offerings and cut back the thresholds if they're not going to cut the price. Feel bad for the ML collectors.

I don't think it's the price.
If it was really just about the price people why would people be trying to get LESS for the $350 price tag?
If you can back out later why not just go ahead and support now to ensure we get all the bells and whistles? I think people are just being petty because they want Danny Ketch or whatever. A lot of these folks just don't like supporting the Latin Ghost Rider and it's definitely gross. |

What this actually is about though is Hasbro wanting to charge €420 for a set that I feel like is worth 200 at most. And I get it, stretchgoal figures, but that price model is so dumb to begin with. |
Yes! nothing racists (that I see) about people not wanting this. Its about that mighty dollar! That's it!

The Mephisto reveal only added 700 or so after a day? Ouch. I'm not seeing the civilian Robbie happening at all. Barring some kind of backlash besides the collective "meh" everyone's had so far (nothing like the Rancor vitriol) the thing is totally getting funded, but this is at least one bonus off the table, I think.

Is there another in demand giant character like Galactus or Sentinels they could have gone with? Even MU at the height of its popularity only did Galactus and Sentinels and then repaints of both and then stopped with the big guy figs.

Ideally what I think ML should use Haslab for is groups of figures that they're pretty worried couldn't be done at retail. The best example I could think of is the 1000000 BC Avengers, Squadron Supreme or a Supernatural wave this GR Haslab could potentially provide. That or the Menonite's Horse and Buggy should be next |

Ah yes. He whose limbs shatter mountains and whose back scrapes the sun. That was my dream Haslab after Galactus. Not to detract from this one or anything.

But on this tangent, there remain several giants ranging from the conventionally popular to the obscure: Foom Surtur Ymir Celestials Giant Man Atlas Goliath Giganto (Deviant) Giganto (Atlantean) The Stranger Eternity Destiny Tenebrous Aegis Love Hate Chaos Order Kronos Mid-Guard Serpent Etc |
An NYC playset? Street corner with some shops that leads into an alley with fire escape and rooftop, some swap-out signage for billboards and Daily Bugle newspaper machine to match the characters, a garage door in the alley for someone to roll out of on their bike, etc..
Sell it as the ultimate display piece for your NY-based heroes, with a handful of civilian figures to fill out the scenes, and you've got the photographers, shelfers, and players all drooling. Only the MOCers would shrug at an offering like that if it were even remotely decently priced. |
