Hasbro should take a lesson from Mcfarlane on pricing

Comedian 02-10-2023 09:40 AM

Gonna need the 1966 Batman and Robin reissued. I need them in ever vehicle.

Agreed - though that's why I picked up one of the NYCC lunchbox 4-pack from Target - it's still available for $60. It has slight variants of Joker and Penguin as well.

Thank you. I may jump on that.

No prob!

I can definitely recommend it, especially at that price. I was kind of surprised it went back in stock (and has stayed there for a bit now). I think a lot of folks might scroll past it, not realizing what it is since the main pic is just of the lunchbox (which is cool itself!).

As I said, the Joker and Penguin are slight paint variants - and I didn't notice at first, but the Batman and Robin are slight variants as well - instead of the painted eyes, they have white behind the mask, like the comics.

I do hope they reissue the standard ones at some point. I didn't jump on this series when it first started coming out, except for the new Catwomans, since I have the Mattel line and was happy with it, but once they started branching out, with Mr. Freeze, etc., I was all in. I've caught up on almost everything else (except for Maskless Robin of course) but didn't grab the first wave Batman and Robin at the time either because I was happy with the Mattel ones (and I have multiples of those with the cape variants, etc). At this point, I would love to grab them - but since I'm an opener on these, I'm hoping to get them at retail eventually.

I think my first post earlier got eaten (because I'm new and I used Master Grayson's first name a few times LOL) - but I just have to say, I was so thrilled to see the Wayne Manor playset announced this morning.

After the last playset, I got really jazzed and was recently thinking about what I wish they would do next - and Wayne Manor was at the top of my list. It's exactly what I imagined - I couldn't be more pleased.

I'm hoping for a Commissioner Gordon's Office next - though of course, we need him and Chief O'Hara as well.

I'd also love a Barbara Gordon's Apartment - with the hidden side room for Batgirl's gear. When I got the new Two-Face, I was really happy when I saw the back graphic had a cartoon picture of the '66 Batgirl on it - I so hope that is a teaser that she is coming as well. I wasn't totally happy with the Mattel version, so I definitely welcome another. Of course...the Batgirl cycle would be amazing, too, but given the lack of vehicle deco, if we finally got one, I really hope they would do it justice with a great paint job.

Comedian 02-10-2023 11:15 AM

I’d be for all of those. Then let’s get to the Burton and Schumacher films.

I believe that comic Batgirl is coming soon (based on the '66 comic like Two-Face rather than Yvonne Craig due to likeness issues)

Nice to see Wayne Manor! Hoping for a civilian Bruce Wayne/Dick Grayson & Alfred (and Aunt Harriet)

Also Gordon's office with Gordon & Chief O'Hara would be great to!

IzzyTipsy 02-10-2023 12:44 PM

I'm not sure I'd want a Batgirl '66 if it didn't look like Yvonne Craig.

LeiaOrgana 02-10-2023 01:02 PM

That's great to hear about Batgirl (I think?) - anyone know other rumored figures? I haven't been able to find much discussion about these online, I'd love to know what's up next.

There is a campy feel I like about them, they seem to be getting a bit more popular in pop culture as well. Just different felling, which was not bad.

Now on to the awesome SUPER POWERS Mr. Freeze figure that Todd released on his site for 20 seconds and almost no one got……

I’m getting real spent on all these companies doing this chase crap.

In one of the recent leaked McFarlane solicitations it listed for Batman 66: Batman with oxygen mask, Robin with oxygen mask, Batgirl (comic), Wayne Manor library playset, and a Batboat. We just saw these last 2 revealed today, so the rest should be legit too.

I'm guessing the oxygen masks variants will look like this:

To be fair most of the Batman '66 McFarlane figures' face sculpts are... less than accurate when compared to the actor haha

Seeing the 60s stuff immediately triggered the theme song memory. Nananananana Batman! Nanananananana Batman!

I like how Batman has enough sense to place the oxygen mask under his face mask in order to form the seal, but Robin failed to do so. Ha ha.

Subject One is the tangent timeline Flashpoint's version of Superman. Raised by the US government he was kept in a cell and only exposed to red sun radiation leaving him weak and isolated compared to his mainstream counterpart.
