I already put it back in the box so I can't fully check, but while messing with it for the photos there was a point where it started to disconnect and I had to pop it back down. So it's not one piece molded, but I couldn't 100% say if it's meant to fully disconnect. My bet would be that it does since most of this stuff is modular.

$300 and Crowdfunded and the same size as Grayskull and SM that were 1/3 the price and at retail? On top of that its not even something that's Iconic. Easy Pass. I see this one not hitting its goal.

I’m not sure, definitely overpriced by $100 at least. But you are guaranteed the lady slither and beast so that adds about $80 of value for me. 24 hours in and it’s over 1,800 so not bad.

I’m more worried about the Star Wars haslab, that’s the first one I’m skipping. Way overpriced for something I already have 6 of.

I was looking forward to the new Masterverse Teela, but that head sculpt is disappointing. Especially when you compare to the artwork on the box. I'm sure some of that is due to the snake armor needing to fit over the head rather than being an alternate head. But still...what a let down.

The Man Child posted his video review on YT this morning. He did a head swap with the classic Teela from MOTU Revelation. It's a definite improvement.

Wish they woulda made her the 2000X Teela.

I don't mind the head, but she looks so close to the MOTU Classics Teela that there doesn't seem to be a compelling reason to buy this if I've already got that.

Mattel is going to do an cartoony line for 2000's MOTU & Mondo is doing 1/12 detailed versions, so I expect at least one company will make that version of her next year.

I.e.
Scale your play-set Castles to Masterverse size. That way your not alienating 95% of your target market, to only ORIGINS collectors. There's Plenty of Mythic Legion & GI JOE Classified consumers who would of bought that over-priced Snake Lair had it been up-scaled ever so slightly.

I can't justify the Snake Lair for money reasons and it's really not that cool looking, honestly. Feels like Snake Mountain and Grayskull had a baby. There's no nostalgia for it. It's not the Royal Palace. It's just that weird obsession the Mattel crew has for the Snake-Men, a vintage sub-faction that had like 5 or 6 figures. I don't see a Comet Warriors Castle! (Okay, they kinda suck.)

Anyway, it'll fund and good for those who want it. Which apparently is not 6-inch collectors.

I agree Mattel's marketing sucks. Early Bird Backer exclusive anything sucks, because it means that after that deadline, people who were on the fence have left the yard. They won't be getting the complete package, so why would they bother? And their campaign is less than a month with what like a week's notice before it launched. Some folks don't have their money sitting around for expensive toys, and some are crazy enough to collect 3 popular lines (and if not rich), 3 crowd funds at once is a lot of investment.

Looks like the Snake Lair's time was extended from 3 days to 7. Pushing for Pythonus!
