Wow. I remember you discussing this optimus. That destroyer does look menacing. Although it lacks articulation, the overall look is awesome.

behindthemask 06-14-2011 10:17 AM

IMO the 8'' figure is well worth the $$ for a dead on sculpt minus the spikes for the kiddies, I would of loved 20 poa, and more detailed paint, with bigger brighter led's but we can't always get what we want.

..that's going to be pricey. There's a gray version of this Beast with a different head sculpt. You might as well go all out if you're going to be painting and get one of each.

Thanks. It works for me. The pose you see him in here is all the articulation I need for this guy.

I wish. Maybe they'll make an updated Destroyer when they start making Legends again.

behindthemask 06-14-2011 12:44 PM

They already made a marvel legends Destroyer/ Hulk Buster Iron man Variant, but he's not only hard to find, but pricey. This bad boy I've seen online from $18-40(scalper pricing at anything above $28. The version Jin Saotome modified is the best of both worlds. If only he owned Hasbro and could mass produce.

behindthemask 06-16-2011 12:38 AM

Which Venom is better?

omega145 06-16-2011 06:46 AM

That SS Venom is sick!!!!! The only thing I dont like is the purple that they decided to put in there but its still a better figure than the tongue venom. Glad to see that trade worked out for you.

Optimus Vader 06-16-2011 07:44 AM

Yeah, they always need to add something weird to these Spidy line figures to make them a little more cartoon-ish or something... kind of like the blue on Toxic Blast. Actually, the purple isn't bad, it grew on me a little bit; what I'd nitpick on this figure would be the gray plastic instead of just black. I've seen a few pictures where people painted this figure black and made the eyes full white and it looks really badass. I'm not a customizer so I'll keep it as is. Still a really cool figure.

[QUOTE=Optimus Vader;128738]Which Venom is better?

I'm jealous, lol. Dark spiderman has a hint of purple and I think the paint job him looks awesome. I ordered my SS venom on ebay for a decent price and I can't wait to get it in. I've been checking the mail anxiously everyday.

stjuggernaut 06-16-2011 09:11 AM

The venom on the lef is by far alot more savage, but the one on the right is much more classic. the choice is yours really depending on your taste! alternate them if you cant decide! lol.

Optimus Vader 06-16-2011 09:35 AM

I'm just asking you guys which Venom you like better. None of you are making toy decisions for me... except for when you post pictures of things I didn't know about and then I feel I need to buy them.

Symbiote 06-16-2011 09:57 AM

FINALLY!!
http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o...-57-33_674.jpg
I like both figures. I believe stretch strike venom was intended for the matt gargan dark spiderman version when he gets loked out. Toxic venom is indeed classic (if only his damn knees bend). I know the sabertooth leg swap works well but I haven't gotten my hands on one to do that yet.

Good Stuff 06-17-2011 04:45 AM

No doubt, SS Venom is superior! It's hulking and looks nastier....plus more posable options with Spidey :)

brianregan09 06-17-2011 05:45 AM

if the Toxic blast one had articulation he'd be the better one i like SS Venom but the colour is f'd up on him

Pretty cool pic Symbiote, whos the Venom character on the far right?
Are those garbage tie wraps you used?

Optimus Vader 06-17-2011 08:08 AM

Those black twist ties look pretty cool ^^

I just got a shit load of these great stands. Archangel no longer needs to be balanced with his wings, and this tiny-footed Wolverine figure (that I love other than the tiny feet) can stand flat rather than being balanced on the edge of his feet. Now I need some flight stands.

omega145 06-17-2011 08:22 AM

Did you get those stands on eBay? I picked up a few of those circular stands and they arent that great. I really like these interlocking stands:
10 CLEAR Marauder I.D.S Super-Hero Action Figure Stands on eBay!

Optimus Vader 06-17-2011 08:38 AM

I got those stands at smalljoes.com. I didn't know the site existed until soundwave88 posted about them in here somewhere. Those interlocking stands aren't bad, but they're a little pricey. These stands have four pegs on them so you can get some decent poses going, but something I picked up from some of great displays in the collection showcase thread (mastersock, symbiote) is that I only need to peg in one foot to get a dynamic pose. And these stands are only $7 for 20.

Its the latest custom I did. Flash Thompson inherits the symbiote after Mac Gargan. He's hired from the government to be a special soldier who can only wear the symbiote for 48 hrs before the symbiote fully bonds to him and he goes loko (which does eventually happen). I'll be posting more pics of him soon. I'm finalizing a head swap for the traditional venom looking head. He's quite the interesting character in the new venom series and I can't wait for the hard cover book to come out.
Venom (comics)

Yes those are those black tie wraps. Its easy to wrap them on and take them off when going for that tendril look.

Nice! You can make great tendrils that way- dip the tie wrap in Elmer's Glue and let it dry overnight- it'll turn to a rubbery coating that you can paint and still position.

Cool. Thanks for the tip jason. My only concern is that the paint won't flake off.

behindthemask 06-17-2011 04:37 PM

You can get plast-i-dip, a liquid powdercoat type system for around $8 and using simple wiring u just dip it in the color of your choice, they look better IM0, below is the link from Jin Saotome's site, haven;t tried it myself, but I have worked with the poduct on power tools before and it works great but it will ruin clothes and stinks like all hell, so well aired out spot is best.
