From my understanding, there were some early scenes of "Steve Rogers in the modern world" that were cut from the movie, and one (or more) of them included him being served by that particular waitress in his civilian guise.

Damn we can't wait for the Blu-Ray deleted scenes

In 2 hours we are going to watch The Avengers again for the 3rd time, but this time in IMAX 3D.

It ends with Tony going "Am I ever going to get my suit back?"

Rhodes says "Haha, nope" *flies off*

That would have been awesome, maybe a deleted scene of that would be awesome!

Ya hopefully a cool packaging to go with it.

SH0CKWAVE 05-08-2012 09:53 AM

How cool would it be to meet up w your local Arkers and watch The Avengers after a few pops?!

I saw it w my family, but I'd like to see it with my fellow nerds. I imagine the experience would be a lil different, to say the least. ;)

Maybe at the Mann's Chinese Theater:p I'm coming out this weekend and want to take the wife since she hasn't seen it!

Basically yes, they're the "Ultimate" versions of the 616 Skrulls...someone posted here, but can't find it:p

The chitari are a race of aliens a bit separate from the skrulls. They are also in the ultimate avengers animated movie.

Ive seen so many people's Facebook pages filled with avengers comments and statuses that they couldn't wait for this movie but have no history of the books at all. Maybe this will bring somewhat of an upswing to the comics, maybe at least for the summer anyway.

The previous comics movies, and especially the big hits (Iron Man) have all proven that these movies in no way produce more interest in the comics themselves. Most people who see the movies don't even know comics still come out on a weekly basis.

With that knowledge, I was fully expecting some kind of ad for Free Comic Book Day before the movie. It was pretty stupid to keep the franchises disconnected.

I was tempted to tell my theater about FCBD before the showing (as most people waited 4+ hours to get good seats), but as I went to the 12:01 am showing on Thursday night, most of those people obviously already knew about it.

It was very cool to see a bunch of iPads in line and in the theatre reading comics as we waited for the film to start.

Also cool to see how many people got onto Facebook right after it ended to post their thoughts.

That makes sense, the Gauntlet was on display at SDCC the year before, and I could never see it in the film. Weird that it'd be in Odin's vault...

Ruffalo was twitchy and paranoid, every time he walked by a shield agent he ducked his head down or turned away. It really worked.

I don't think it was Ruffalo who sold it. The CGI Hulk was the best we've seen, and he had more Hulk-like action than ever before. If Hulk had been the same as in IH, I think Ruffalo would have come off as worse.

To me, Norton is the best Banner so far.

We had the same 'problem'. We went to the midnight showing to experience the movie this way on purpose, fully intending to see it again later with our older friends and family who wouldn't go that late. Best to see it at least twice. ;)

Yup, exactly. The limitations on these licenses are going to be the most frustrating part of any of these movies. With FF getting a reboot, and X-Men First Class 2 in the planning stages, I don't see any of these licenses going back to Marvel anytime soon, sadly.

That would make a lot of sense. I wonder if she was bummed about her scene cuts.

Yes, they're one part of the Skrull race in the ultimate universe. Both the green Skrulls and the Chitauri have appeared in the ultimate universe, explained as distant cousins.

Exodus 05-08-2012 10:54 AM

Yes I think Norton played a great Hulk, Ruffolo more along the lines of the joking Hulk in AEMH.

sgt.bludhound 05-08-2012 12:23 PM

hulk definitely stole the show! when he slams Loki like a rag doll!, when cap. tells him "hulk...Smash!" then he grins and goes wild! awesome! and of course the hulk and thor fight! when hulk tried to pick up mjnoir i was geeking out!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't forget when he sucker punches Thor after taking out a few Chitari's.
That was hilarious! This is where Tiberius inserts that image;P

No, for me at least I liked Rufalo better. I did love Norton, don't get me wrong but he was just channeling Bill Bixby, Ruffalo became Banner. My opinion at least.

While I'm at it, I do appreciate the slow shift in using more mature actors. As a kid I always imagine the heroes being in their 30's and 40's. The experience and age in their faces looks much more dynamic to me.

Norton, although maybe 40 looks like a 19 year old kid. Hard to accept a kid being the foremost expert in gamma radiation. Maybe it's just me. I dunno, I need the see the Avengers again tonight.......

TheSymbiote 05-08-2012 01:39 PM

We just saw The Avengers for the third time and the results are
First viewing- In 2D the audience was perfect the movie was perfect
Second viewing- In 3D the audience didn't laugh as much and the 3D wasn't that good.
Third viewing- In IMAX 3D the audience was almost dead, they only laughed at the obvious parts and this little bastard behind us and TWO SEATS TO THE RIGHT kept kicking his chair and annoying the shit out of us. The 3D was superior though.

So after all three viewings IMAX 3D was our favorite viewing followed by 2D and then 3D.

What about regular IMAX? Don't they have that as well...

they do but not near our location, trust that if it were available we would be watching it a forth time, hell we still might see it again in 2D. IMAX might have been our favorite version because the 3D glasses make the IMAX screen look smaller to us

DogFashionDisco 05-08-2012 05:17 PM

I remember someone posting that they didn't like Cap's costume in Avengers, and I agree to an extent. I know his costume is cheesy and they even address that in the film, but I liked the style of his costume in Captain America a lot. Oh well, maybe they'll get it right next time.

Greenskar 05-08-2012 06:17 PM

I would actually like to see a movie version of the Bucky Cap costume either in his solo movie or another avenger movie down the line at some point. I always thought that was the Best Cap Costume, or it's at least my favorite.

http://i419.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/buckycap.jpg

Otherwise I agree with DogFashionDisco that I liked the costume from the first Cap Movie better than Avengers.

I Nguyen 05-08-2012 09:16 PM

Saw the movie and thought it was awesome!!!

I also prefer the costume in "Captain America" to the one in the Avengers. It wasn't that the Avengers costume looked cheesy to me so much as it looked like a new compact car, shiny and plastic. The costume in "Captain America" looked useful while keeping the color scheme intact, which I really appreciated.

The "Bucky Cap" costume, I'm against. I think the design works, its just that I'm sick of black leather costumes where (I feel) they don't belong. Like I said, not a bad costume, I just don't want to see it in a movie. Just my opinion, though.

DogFashionDisco 05-08-2012 09:25 PM

Sounds cheesy to me, but I'm glad you saw through the update.

Jmacq1 05-09-2012 06:11 AM

I agree that the "First Avenger" costume looked better than Cap's "Avengers" costume. They really should've just stuck with that one, or at least that basic design (could've explained that the materials had been upgraded or whatever, but kept the same basic look).

The new one only looked decent without the helmet/mask. I thought it looked fine when Evans was unmasked, but the helmet just doesn't look right.

nakobass 05-09-2012 06:18 AM

Anybody know the US release date for the 6 inch Avengers Figures? You would think Hasbro would have them out by now, with the movie being so popular right now. I really want that Hawkeye, and I hope they release a 6 inch movie Black Widow also.

Sharon was already introduced at the end of the Cap movie as a SHIELD agent during the "fake hospital room" scene.
