and the captain britain group shot rules you're right. |
Just out of curiosity, does anyone have that movie armor Iron Man with the Ultimate paint scheme? I used to trip over it on the pegs but at the time I wasn't too interested in it, and now I'd really like to have it.

ENDZ OV TEH LINEZ!!!!!!
But seriously,il wait til i hear it firsthand from Hasbro............. |
It's hopefully bs. Only passed it along because it wasn't from some random person.
We'll know the future of the line at SDCC. If it's on it's way out... we won't see that much new stuff. If things are ok, we'll see enough new figures to take us until the end of 2013. |
So just when I am trying to find a way in Hasbro are planning a way out,
Damn my British luck |
Well of course it seems that way, with the heavy focus on the movie lines but realistically it's to be expected, the movie lines have block buster movies to back them, I think once the hype around the movies dies down, we'll see a return to normal MU, of course I wouldn't surprised not to see a lot of new stuff at SDCC, with the movie lines dominating the market for the first half of the year, they still have all the stuff from last year's sdcc and toy fair that hasn't been released to fall back on

Personally, I expect them to consolidate the lines better.
Avengers Assemble keep going, but start slotting in all future ironman, cap, and thor waves this way. Package refreshing by adding to each "movie line" with a sub header for the main marvel cinematic universe. Then keep MU going alongside it. This would open up shelf space and design space for an X-Men line they could do the same with for the movies (Next wolverine and next X-Men, plus new mutants too eventually). Then keep the spidey line going for the sony spidey-verse including the spin-offs. This lets everything fit on shelf space, keeps the pegs full of whoever they like via movie or comic, and makes it easier on retailer space planning. Of course slot in a few comic-series figs in the movie line, but make them solely that line's influence. Like for X-Men give us something unique to them from the comics like the Shiva Units, or Nimrod sentinels, or comic versions of movie characters, or even past movie characters. Same to Ironman, Cap, Thor, and future Avengers flicks. Keep them to comic characters that are in the movie, and fill out the inbetween hype for movie waves with characters from previous movies that never saw their way to shelves. This leaves MU open to cover pretty much everything or anything. Eventually they could even start repacking certain figures back into it like Carnage, or whatever other comic line figures from movie-lines can be adapted. This would keep the line in circulation including the popular characters similiar to how toybiz started doing it when they had a lot of character molds from marvel pre-legends. I'll wait for hasbro to comment officially, but there's too much marketing potential in a plan like that including coinciding waves with toon launches like the new avengers one or a new season of ultimate spider-man. Comic accurate versions of the toon characters should sell just as well as toon versions. Probably moreso as we saw before. With the entire block called Marvel Universe anyway, it makes the toy marketing that much easier. The entire MU block schtick seems to be taking liberties from hasbro anyway. A lot of the characters used for Avengers have figures, and the entire Fury files at the end of USM... Well yeah. Fury Files... Nuff said. xD Makes me wonder what the relationship between marvel and hasbro is becoming though. Lots of the ideas seem to get intermingled, and other than superhero squad being on Hub, hasbro doesn't seem to get any credit to what they've contributed. That's the only thing that makes me worry about the MU line a little. If there was a bigger push to unite the line and the block, things might work perfect in MU's favor for wider exposure ontop of the current steady sell through rates. If MU goes belly-up in favor of movie-lines with more robust comic series. I'm not sure how that'd work out in the long run for what has limited lifespans as lines go. |

@ SWP:
thanks again for the ScarJo Widow hook up. honestly my collection would be shite if it weren't for my fellow board members. cheers to SWP and the lot of you on this fine Sunday. |
They would be absolutely stupid to shut the line down now, still so much more money to be made.
|
Personally, I'm already looking forward to the Iron Man 3 toys.
I know a lot of people had their fill of Iron Man with the IM2 line. I was not one of them. |
i wouldnt be surprised if the line did end for MU, its been a weird ride for us waiting for the new waves to show, and as you can see it looks like its gonna be a mixture in one release, but at the same time hasbro always ends up shuting us up by realeasing unxpected sets, (xfactor 6pack) wich is a good sign that they always have something up there sleves, only time will tell, and untill hasbro says there done, i see more awesomeness comeing our way.

This sucks. They take our toyline away at the height of the marvel madness right now. What the fuck. Why Does Hasbro hate collectors.

Why assume the worst?

MARSHALLS BOYS AND GIRLS, 3.75 ARMORED AVENGER WAVE HAS ARRIVED!
Sadly the Concept drone was nowhere to be found, But I did snag the best War Machine hands down light up chest and all. The rest of the wave was available but I only grabbed Inferno Armor (Clear) and Artillery Armor War Machine. Inferno and Artillery Armors are up for trade. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8145/7...c80d06917b.jpg |

I'd like to see a little more of that and a lot less "MU is ending because a man on the internet said so" panic. |
But they only have movies ever so often, they be idiots to give up all the money in between films especially since a lot of movie figs peg warm and eventually just get marked down at retail.
I really won't believe their abandoning MU until there's an official statement. |
