Because that's probably just a packaging sample so the figures inside are prototypes and not representative of final release. It's happened before with Hasbro where we see auctions or leaked images of products with the prototypes being used and so there are numbers or other kinds of markings on them that thankfully aren't meant to be there.

EvilMonkeyPope 04-30-2017 07:04 PM

Genoshans tattooed her slave numbers there.

I agree.

EvilMonkeyPope 04-30-2017 07:10 PM

An optic blast would be even more useful.

Boy Blunder 04-30-2017 07:26 PM

Hooooooleeeeeee shiiiiiiit.

Damn, but those are friggin' sweet.

Seems to be a day for reveals. From a Marvel Legends Facebook group:

https://scontent-atl3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...72&oe=597D83C8

The current speculation is that it's the SDCC exclusive.

i'd love a odinson too bad no toothgnasher to go with him, and ulik would be kick ass as well !!! too bad no thunderstrike nor a new beta ray bill though..

TheBlueMarvel 04-30-2017 08:14 PM

Great news, Red. That Thor set is a fantastic SDCC temporary exclusive. From the looks of Odinson, they might've put Thor on the Hyperion mold. That would make a good thing even better...
Bor...what a pick.

Was thinking the same thing...mostly because that is how they should have done the boots with Cyke in the first place. I'm also thinking those Phoenix heads might look great on the new MJ...just need to put a few freckles on them.

Anyone thinking of that Phoenix set, those numbers would come off pretty easily with a little bit of Goo-Gone and an art knife. Or you could just wait.

Pissed that it's going to be another exclusive, but I don't think this will be as hard to track down as the upcoming MJ set will be.

Speaking of MJ, there are pics of the new MJ online featuring other heads swaps as well. Apparently the new MJ body works well with Silk and Sue. Shame that Gwen was done on the teen buck though. That's gonna look really off.

There's a few listings for the A-Force on Ebay now. Some of the individual characters look cool, like Sif and Loki, but there's too many "wHo?" characters for my tastes.

Surprised you're having so much trouble finding Frank. Him and Namor are practically breeding in my local Walgreens. It was DD that was impossible to find for the longest time, although I managed to grab him a long time ago thanks to our MIA brother in action Raf...

Thank God that Brock is back as Venom. I haven't been able to read exactly how it happened, and I couldn't get through the end of the Carnage series as it started to become a bit much once they introduced yet ANOTHER symbiote character (and these things are supposed to be "honorable" beings Marvel? Give me a break...)

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...2_150026-1.jpg

I wasn't a huge fan of the "Agent" Toxin turn, but I did like the idea of Brock having the Toxin symbiote, as I felt that Brock SHOULD have the most powerful one of the group. Hopefully this will be the end of the symbiote swapping for a while, as it's being passed around like it was a WWE title these days...

That's a relief, thanks. I hoped it would be something like that.

Really? 4/6 are fairly major characters (She-Hulk, Sif, Monica Rambeau, Loki), Elsa Bloodstone isn't that obscure either. Singularity sure, she was only introduced the recent A-Force comic.

I know She-Hulk, Loki and Sif, and in the case of Loki, I only know "him" by name only. No idea why "he" is being gender swapped, but given Marvel's attempts to cater to everything left these past few years...that's my guess. It also gives cosplayers something new to dress up as at their cons, as higher up Disney execs constantly have bragged about this in the past with their ideas for character creations (such as Sabine Wren from Rebels.) If I had to take an educated stab at it, it probably has something to do with the Jane Foster carrying the Thor mantle. Perhaps someone could explain why.

Absolutely NO idea who the other gals are. Just being honest.

EvilMonkeyPope 04-30-2017 09:17 PM

Loki predates Jane-Thor by years. During the JMS run Loki was possessing Sif's body.
Mythological Loki turned into a mare to help Odin win a bet against the Jotuns & sired his eight-legged steed, Sleipnir.

Bearjew 04-30-2017 09:44 PM

I can't wait until the A force set goes on sale

Dr Kain 04-30-2017 10:14 PM

1. Not sure if I need the SDCC Thor pack.

2. Those Dark Phoenix heads look amazing. I wonder how the regular Phoenix will look with the hair down head.

3. Is it just the angle or me, or does the wrist on Cyclops' right hand look really thin?

SymbiSpidey 04-30-2017 10:23 PM

The SDCC set looks rather nice. Not too familiar with Thor lore personally, but I wouldn't mind adding some fantasy-inspired figures to my Legends collection.

I probably want Malekith the most out of all of those.

Well, Monica Rambeau has been around for decades, and she had the Captain Marvel title a while before Carol ever did. She's not the most well known character, but she's far from obscure.

Lady Loki, as EvilMonkeyPope said, predates FosterThor by years. I'm pretty sure, at least the version in this boxset, instead of Loki possessing Sif's body, it's just Loki shapeshifting.

It looks thin to me too.

It does look kinda thin, but not any thinner that the Bucky Cap body's wrist normally is (comparing the picture with my Machine Man figure).

Boy Blunder 05-01-2017 02:43 AM

Well, I've got no desire for that SDCC set, but I seriously hope that Hasbro intends to release Jane and Odinson at retail. It would be unfair to so many if they didn't. The rest have much more "niche" appeal, so I can see only releasing them here.

Who knows, though? I'm actually gonna be at SDCC this year, so if the chips fall in the right ways, maybe I'll grab one.

I think Hasbro already confirmed the Jane Foster Thor for a mass release, and the leaked listings for the Thor Ragnarok wave have pretty consistently listed an Odinson, so I think like Enchantress and Abomination (and also kinda Sandman) from The Raft from last year, and Dormammu and Doctor/Brother Voodoo from the year before, FosterThor and Odinson will almost certainly be released separately, if possibly slightly changed deco-wise.

warmachine6 05-01-2017 03:55 AM

The Thor SDCC pack , i only want ulik, using the abomination mold who was a BAF , but it doesn't scream to me "buy me now" look at the RAFT set we might get these figures single carded expect one , (still need an updated todd mcfarlane spidey) still want the A-force pack , and now sold on the phoenix 2 pack , dont really need cyclops.

Found these for the A-force pack

If TRU Australia doesn't get that A-Force set I will be furious.

I'm also relieved to see that Thor has two bicep swivels, the preview picture only had one.

Archangel 05-01-2017 05:37 AM

Too bad we only have one crappy TRU around here. I doubt I'll ever see that Dark Phoenix set before the scalpers do.

Captain Nash 05-01-2017 05:55 AM

Ooh I like that SDCC set, but not enough to get it right away, especially if JF Thor is in the Thor wave. If she's not I will definitely have to get the set. Otherwise I can wait or if it ends up, not get it at all. Which may happen considering I have gotten the last four year's sets and feel I need to take a break from that.

Excited to see A-Force set, likely just an online buy for me considering my TRU.

SymbiSpidey 05-01-2017 06:22 AM

It just dawned on me that those Phoenix head sculpts are for the Juggernaut Phoenix figure....I want this 2-pack even more than I already did now.
