my two cents of speculation.

Agreed its all about profit we all love the mu line but that doesn't mean its sales are great when compared to their other lines and with money loss on lines such as cap and Thor movie maybe they want to cut losses by discontinuing underperforming lines and so far starwars paul's info has been pretty accurate just my opinion

How. How is there truth to it? Please give us a source, instead of being all coy and trying to deliberately stir up panic.

Veronica Mars 06-24-2012 04:30 PM

I just had that argument... doesn't really go anywhere

solidwii 06-24-2012 04:30 PM

So let's see. Dave Vonner was canned. At retail we see double the amount of stock of movie versus MU line. Movie line seems to be selling though. The recent release of MU figures in 4pack under movie style packaging. Is it possible that is the shift here? Like star wars they just redesign the packaging while keeping the line?

That's ok, not at all concerned about impressing anyone, let alone you.

You asked for sources, I provided all the information I felt I was able to without compromising my sources in that link.

You can carry on living your live here in Blissful ignorance. You've sucessfully chased me off.

Hope you're proud of yourself.

@Solid.wii,seems plausible, but the rumour would seem to be more like a line-killer than change of direction........

If one little argument with me is enough to chase you off an entire forum, then kinda yeah I am. Not everyone is going to either agree with you or take your word as gospel, it happens, comes with the territory of being part of a community with a diverse population with their own thoughts and ideas, sorry if you can't handle that, but blaming me for your inability to cope, not really cool

SWP, i know last time you stuck your neck out to give us some dish, you were practically decapitated for it... and your head was subsequently sewed back on by the very same naysayers proved wrong.

i appreciate your PM, your genuine forthright honesty, and willingness to divulge aforementioned details (discreetly) on a topic that is dear to all thread dwellers.

cheers to you, Paul.

Hey guys,
Appreciate the kind words. Obviously there are people who are jaded and have been burned in the past. It's cool I can forgive them.

Scared me off from this discussion right now in this thread. No need to waste the energy on people who don't want to put their faith in someone. It's cool.

To everyone who's getting an Avengers Widow from me I'm gonna go work on those now, so I'll PM your DC numbers once I'm done. They will ship tomorrow.

Have a great night everyone!

Well I know The Walt Disney Company's purchase of Marvel in 2009 came as a blow to Hasbro, it could be likely Disney may give the Marvel license to their rival Mattel. Who seems to get Disneys buisness....but Hasbro has the Deal until 2017....

Which could bring truth to what has been said here......the people getting laid off and the slow year on toys....

We can all have those. I could say I know someone or know someone who knows someone, doesn't make it true. Unless and until there's an official announcement from someone who actually works for the company, it's all just alarmist speculation and rumor mongering

Official announcement? When is the last time Hasbro has given an official announcement to the fan base about MU? At the Cons...certainly not at any Q&A sessions. A lot of our info that we share here comes via; ebay listings and insider contacts. I am not saying that it is the end, but if it is, well at least it's been a good ride. Everyone has the right to question someone on here...it's human nature. Everything is speculation, but I am inclined to side with SWP just on the fact that any info he has provided has been correct.

I already said it could all turn out to be wrong, but right now a couple different connected people are saying MU is in trouble.

Would you rather find out when it's announced by Hasbro and there's no chance of saving it?

Agreed.

I don't understand the hostility the man just wanted share some info he had and all hell broke loose after all this is a marvel appreciation 3.75 thread and maybe he thought we'd appreciate the info so we can prepare by either relaying our protest to Hasbro or making sure we get what we can before they dry up at retail I for one appreciate the info wether it proves false or not and I would like to see more solid hiss guys like solidwii and starwars paul here IMO

Speaking of RUMORS. This statement above is ALL just speculation and has no basis in fact, other than Disneys perceived "better" relationship with Mattel. (Disney also has partnership deals with Hasbro.)

proteus 06-24-2012 04:50 PM

Dammit guys(and gal) you are killing my HU buzz with all this doom and gloom!!

PS thanks for the link Solid.wii!!!

MGTAJ 06-24-2012 04:51 PM

The age old question, what shall be killed first? The Marvel Universe Toyline or this appreciation thread?

StarWarsPaul 06-24-2012 04:51 PM

Thanks for the unbiased support guys, it's appreciated.
