In this case, based on previous revelations from SWP, I'm going w my gut and saying damnit I believe him. Sucks to accept because I love Marvel Universe... but at least I got an Ark load of plastic lil fuckers to say I had a good run. |

As for the line ending, I hope it doesn't, and I feel it won't, because it's a good earner, and even the mafia knows, you don't clip a good earner. |

Anyone can claim sources but it doesn't make them the a journalist or give them any credibility. I'm not saying you are lying but I am saying that you can't expect that people will take you at your word with no proof. If you have sources they could be outed without them knowing who it was that outed them, lessening the chance for "consequences". In this case naming people wouldn't even matter unless we had the ability to contact said person and confirm who they are and what they said so I really think that whole argument is silly. Anonymous sources can often be such an annoying thing because it's a crap shoot, especially when it's not a serious story where people's lives could be ruined if you reveal who they are. If a reporter have a source that is off the record and no other proof to back up a claim then it's just a rumor and you can't expect people to treat it as anything more. Look at how often someone on CNN or FoxNews will cite "sources" only to be found out later to have been talking out of their ass. Or the extreme shadiness on the reporting about Avengers: EMH being canceled. A good reporter tries to find documentation to back up their claims and if they can't then their story losses some credibility. They are either proven wrong or right later on and from what we've seen both seem just as common. I know that a lot of signs point to Hasbro moving away from MU (and other costly lines as well). We totally should support the line and let them know how much we love it but at this point it is probably too late to change anything. It doesn't help that they don't give us any new figures for half a year. This has been the speculation for a while and maybe it is a perfect storm of things happening to Marvel, Hasbro, and the economy/toy market but maybe the line will continue on into next year with no issues. Who's to say really? Not me and not you. I do know it takes time to develop toys for market so if they stopped developing toys for the line a while and we had proof of that it would be a bad sign. Even if they stopped future development when Vonner was fired that would mean they still had enough stuff in the works to bring new toys into 2013. I would think that even if they decided to cancel they might see some value in producing that next run of stuff, but probably not. |
Man too much negative talk bout this or that...we need more pics in here.. i did the head swap!

over on HissTank (hello gents) in the MU thread they're throwing stones at our little thread over here... saying we're an intense, hateful bunch.
well, the difference is we talk toys here more often than not, so therein lies this "intensity." this thread has not become a spam-a-rama circle jerk that the MU thread on HT has become. just saying. |

ew HT, you couldn't pay me to go back there. The most hateful person I've ever met in forums was on the tank

Sometimes I will go over there and look at that thread for fun. I almost never see anything MU so I'm usually pretty lost. |
ok someone fill me in,im too lazy to read back,is there a rumor that MU is being cancelled?
|
There just seems to be too much money to give up on by eliminating MU. Yes, the movie lines compete with MU for shelf space, so that sucks but I never understood whey they didn't sub-brand the movie lines with MU banners like they did with RoML. If MU ends as year-long wave-based retailer line, I hope they they figure out some way to sell online waves to collectors since most of us are fine buying that way.

What's with that? They have a winning product, but they screw it up somehow. They spread themselves thin, over-saturate the market with fluff, while they cut corners on the better line, they don't promote, and distribution is a joke. Marvel Universe is an amazing line. It deserves more time and exploration. I would do a subscription. But it would have to be reasonable. This better be hype before they rock our worlds at SDCC. But imagine how much money I would save if it were true. |
