Dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, I haven't been able to do much shopping lately, but this is everything I've picked up since the day after Force Friday, up until today :

Very nicely done.
Man, I loved those things as a kid. Battle Beasts and Z-Bots.

I had no idea hot wheels collecting was still fairly big among toy collectors. Do most of you leave them MOC?

I have loose and carded HW cars but suppose like action figures - it varies from collector to collector.

Hot Wheels are the one thing I still leave MOC mainly because HW are the true "you own one you've owned 'em all" deal. I only go after specialty ones at this point like the Yellow Submarine, cars from movies/tv, etc.

Aw man, I have been doggedly pursuing this Pop, probably more than any other Pop since I began collecting.
She was initially supposed to be released on Force Friday, but Funko changed her release date to October 5 (I guess to focus on the Rogue One stuff on Force Friday), and then my local HT locations didn't get her on the 5th, and THEN, lol, that pesky hurricane delayed shipments to the area.

Of the 6 Ahsoka Pops that I saw today at my local Hot Topic, they all had pretty solid paint, so if you don't spot her, HT's online store has her in stock.
I'm typically pretty obsessive about paint, and prefer to buy Pops in person, but this is one occasion that I feel that I can safely recommend buying one sight unseen, and it probably wouldn't have any issues.

That is a good point. The only Hot Wheels I can think of that would be a must buy for me would be "The Crystal Ship" RV. Now, that I would just need but I am assuming it does not exist.

Question for every and anyone.

If you could walk into a store right now and find any item that is "realistic" just meaning it wasn't produced a decade ago or isn't due to come out for over a year. What would it be? Your ultimate loot.

Pops have to be bought in store for the most part, I learned that the hard way. Great designs, but many are incredibly bad in paint terms, and they're relatively costly for that nonsense. Even the best ones have paint issues usually.

Same here, I like the 007 cars carded.

Too bad NECA makes it impossible to collect these guys.

Because these are made by NECA.

I know, I know, I'm just having fun with the fact that as master rights holders Playmates is the reason these sets aren't seeing mass release.

En Sabah Nerd 10-13-2016 07:05 PM

Actual showing of what I just got post:
I decided to do a backtrack catch-up and ordered the 6" Captain Marvel online since I passed on her at retail. At that point I was kind of reserving my purchases in the 6" Marvel line and Scarlet Witch definitely held higher than Carol but now that I have a deal more figures I regretted not having Carol as well. Thankfully this one has no issues (except for a few tight joints) and my only personal complaint is that I don't like the alt head with the faux-hawk and only one energy punch feels wrong.

As dr kain explained, Neca produced and sold these online. Not playmates.

Yes, this I know. You can tell because the figures actually look good. Playmates though is the reason that this set has such a limited release which upset so many (like the VGA sets before this one), NECA was only allowed to release this set as a limited convention piece because Playmates is super restrictive/protective of their license at general retail. NECA had two options with this set because of Playmates overbearing nature: con exclusive limited production or not at all.

I'm in agreement where to place the blame for this limited release, I don't mind not owning the best Shredder figure ever made to date (not by playmates of course)...but this is one I will happily own a bootleg of one day. That too will be Playmates fault, not Neca's. Hell, Neca put in almost all the leg work in breaking the sucky Shredder figure streak that's been in full effect for almost 30 years, I congratulate them.

See, I don't understand how Playmates has anything to do with the way NECA sells these. Playmates isn't stopping Bluefin from releasing the Figuarts turtles, so why would NECA have an issue? Especially for versions Playmates has no interest in even doing I could understand Playmates having a hissy fit if they themselves were doing high end collectible figures and focused on the comics, but they're not, and they aren't.
