Well let's just put it this way:
Whether it's called Marvel Universe or not, I'll keep giving Hasbro my money if they continue putting out a 3.75" Marvel line that isn't trash. If the series goes the way of the dodo or becomes more like Mattel's recent DC 3.75 offerings, I'm out. Other than the occasional Star Wars figure for my dad (most of which I get on the secondary market anyway), I have no interest in their lines. Quote:

You guys do realize they do a package refresh every year.
So Marvel Universe as you know it is changing... Well that's not much of a shocker at all. It's due for a massive package rebranding for 2013 anyway since it's been using the same packaging since 2009. I'd still say wait and see what Hasbro has planned, but I don't expect MU to go away at all. Maybe rebranded. The Movie focus only lasts so long as they have limited lifespans on shelves. The rebranding could have to do with Disney XD too, though I would think they'd let those merge to have stronger marketing. Now if it's because of retailers who like how well avengers is selling, what they need to do is rebrand the packaging with an additional sticker or mark that says "Featuring characters from Disney XD's Marvel Universe" or similiar that reflects that yes these are avengers toys indirectly. As for Ironman 3, they still have more comic series armors they can do besides movie-line. We still need the real modular ironman, Teen Tony's Holo Armor, Teen Tony's retro armor, and so on. Pretty much any armor between about the 90s-2003 ish. Now there are a lot of movies coming, but again limited lifespans on those. I just don't see this scale going away anytime soon. The question is mostly towards how to generate retailer support when all they have is $$ signs in their eyes from how well Avengers has done. |
Woah a lot happened in this thread today.

Discussing the future of the MU line and what may or may not happen to the line is VERY RELEVANT to this thread.

Hey guys, I'm looking for a renegades SS, life-line and sci-fi...
Anyone have these for trade, I have a ton of stuff. Also looking for Crimson dynamo and Titanium man, Avengers movie skrulls and Sinister comic pack. Any help? |
First i gotta say i love how enthusiastic all of you guys are about our great MU line. And we all know we faced this "Y2K" fiasco more than once for our beloved toy line. As we all can see, there is no sign what so ever that this line is going to stop anytime soon. If it was, Why make a super helicarrier? That idea alone in business sense is bad BUT, hasbro knows the line is strong enough that they can sell a $130+ set and turn a profit. The allegations are ill formed and quite frankly its jealousy. MU is the only line I see in my big city that flies off the shelves and gets restocked constantly. SW,DCU,GIJOES, TRANSFORMERS are all on the clearance section and do not hold the juggernaut status which is MU. To cancel the line is bad business especially since all of their new shows/movies are pulling through.

Agreed. I think MU is #1 |
