Marvel 3.75 dying is making me so sad.
Not only was I buying it for the actual line I bought so many repeats for customs as it was the only thing keeping DC as well alive in 3.75 for me. |
Us getting repainted GotG and Sinister Six while 6 inch collectors getting Netflix heroes and A-Force 6 pack? That hurts. That hurts sooo much.
|
I know what you both mean.
|
I realistically just wanted SpiderGwen and White Tiger(which I don't even think is much of a stretch),
And was disappointed. I knew Gwenpool wouldn't happen, surprised no 6" yet actually. |
Well...where to begun?
Obviously a let down. Same too tall under articulated body moving forward. No single carded figures if I remember. That cant be good for the longevity of the scale. Perhaps it is the end times. I know the Hasbro license for Marvel in 3.75" ends in as little as 10 months....2018 is all they ever mentioned back in 2013 at an investors meeting.January or Decembrr or somewhere in the middle? Perhaps in their Q3 dividend report will clue us in. Maybe that is why the push the last few years to 'drive us in droves" tothe six inch scale... Maybe its time toget my aluminum foil hat on and join the conspiracy theorists. Seems a little more real now. There are actually two new figures in the Sinister Six pack. To call Elektro and Kraven simple repaints is doing a great discredit to their actual MU dopplegangers. Those were proper figures. Also, zero weapons or accessories with any of them. Another chance for people to grab a Groot is good, with red trim as well. I prefer the Mysterio with the lines as well as the comic Vulture with his added deco. Brings a standout quality to them. Shocker is better than the Spidey line version that isnt that well made and way overpriced. The shiny Sandman is a little weird. Kraven in Peg Bundy yoga pants is lame. Looks like Snookie had a yard sale. The movie Vulture is just ok and the different Spidey figures range from laughable to minimally acceptable. Looking to SDCC, maybe two new GotG two packs. Tombstone, some other random stuff and few more two packs. Nothung overly exciting though. Just my prediction. |
Man, I waited so long for a decent 3.75" orange Magneto, so this pic does please me...

I'm excited for Jewel! makes up for that awful rogue. If they'd at least have thrown Mantis in that guardians pack or updated Drax it could be worth it

Also, how do you know that they're gonna lose the 3.75 license? |

My real problem is with the Guardian's two pack . first of all why Yondu ?!? Why not drax or gamora ? Second where are the accessories Yondu has the big open holster for his arrow & Star lord no peter quill head at least his 6 inch came with that hell why not throw in a tiny walkman and headphones ( ps doctor Strange could have been single packed with some magic effects) |

As to the "how" part, it was printed in their report about four years ago. I follow the capitol side of toy manufacturing as well. It has been documented and linked here in this forum several years ago... the truth IS out there. Also, a little google-fu and one could read through tonnes of financial mumbo jumbo and find it their self. The "rights" to manufacture a license in a scale isn't open ended and does come to end to be renewed or shopped. Judging by the time line... I would guess in 2009 they signed a ten year deal that ends ten years later 2018. I jumped on board in 2012 after AVENGERS ASSEMBLE so I don't about the years prior, but since 2013 I have followed and read everything they release into the investment side. It is all published publicly and free to search. Hasbro even have a link to the documentation side of it on the Hasbro.com website. Enough about the nerdy financial side.... I took some screen shots of the new 48" Spider-Man NYC playset. The one with 5 levels of play, should work well for our scale with only a few things looking too large. Excited to see some pics of it when available. I am a sucker for a gigantic playset that I have both no earthly use for or even a place to keep it... that said, it will most likely be bought on site! ;) |

So, looking at the Homecoming Vulture again and thinking:
Lack of elbow articulation is fixable, helmet can be sorted if patient (someone will shrink the 6" version sooner or later), Someone somewhere has probably already shrunk the DC 3.75" unmasked Keaton head. Unmasked Quill heads are available from some Customising sites. Suppose the question for Hasbro is why don we have to alter/correct their figures if we so choose? |

Because we are cheap bastards that like to complain! ;) Nice team pics Hag. I like everything you got going on there. I know it sent most likely what you want and perhaps you missed it, but there is a 3.75" Strange Astral Projection movie figure that can be picked this spring for around a tenner.... looks similar enough, especially when they are clear. Food for thought. I missed the boat on those Kree when ChinaBay had them going. They sell out nowadays. Also, they aren't cheap anymore either. Usually more than retail. At least Hasbro is helping them out by NOT including accessories with their official releases. |

I think the mysterio is the coolest figure I've seen in awhile I mean I know it's a repaint but I love the retro look

http://news.toyark.com/wp-content/up...Marvel-153.jpg Now Spidey UK... he's red, red... Magneto is orange red. But what I really mean is he's the color of not purple... like the previous two MU Magnetos we got. And I never even saw the SW comic 2 pack Magneto... wish I did though, then at least maybe I could try and do a headswap with this newest one. |
