Speaking of irish i need to get hold of a banshee

I would just wait on the Banshee. You have seen the figure right? If it were any better I'd say get it, but hopefully they will remake him, because that is the worst Legends Hasbro has done. Even worse than diaper Frost. Though they were from the same wave and they were just learning...

Especially if they go with the non-cutsie look for Rocket and the constant "BLAM....murdered you!" comments. I would laugh maniacally at the carnage of that team up!

Agreed. I also really like the unmasked head. That being said, I still think the "glowing" green spider symbol on the new costume looks dumb. It is so incredibly out of place.

I did not realize that Pizza Spidey was apparently so sought after until hearing his comment. Out of curiosity I went to check Ebay...so many listed at over $100 with plenty others post $50.

You should sell them and invest in an SDCC X-force set.

then give me that Psylocke.

TheBlueMarvel 05-11-2017 06:12 PM

@Nash

Haha! I already own that set...plus, I'm an eccentric. I won't sell them, I bought them with Spidey-Action! in mind. I will be a bit more reverent when handling and posing them now, though...

Weapon X 05-11-2017 06:26 PM

Lol, it always made me uncomfortable that Doc Ock didn't wear a shirt in the movie. When I got the figure version, I was like......ugh....I'll just try to keep this coat closed....

A somber article about the demise of certain retain stores:

Random Reminiscence Among the Wreckage of the Retail Apocalypse | The Fwoosh

TheBlueMarvel 05-11-2017 07:30 PM

@X

The demise of retail, or the demise of the American workforce? Not to sound like a Luddite, or a doom prognosticator, but there's a real consequence to the forward march of automation (robotics) and this new digital age in which we live. Many American workers lack the skills needed to transition into the swiftly changing tapestry of the world's modern workplace. To make matters worse, many colleges and universities (even the ivies) are behind the curve in providing students with viable work-related skills. We're on the cusp of seeing a complete transformation of the working environment and most workers are not ready. Corporations aren't ready either and we are going to see the shuttering of far more than just retail outlets in the near future. Somber indeed.

...new manic phase beginning. ;)

Archangel 05-11-2017 07:45 PM

There is a little more security in the grocery, and food side of retail... but not much.

:( I'm never going to get that set. It's never even on Amazon anymore, for ridiculous prices or not. It's definitely my holy grail of never haves.

That's crazy. You could pick that one up around here way less than retail not even a year ago. The Legends secondary market is strange. If I had known that, I would have snagged everyone I saw at Walgreens.

I really do think it's just the economy. This is just retail, after all.

Could someone give me a brief bio on the A-Force?

The title or the in-universe group?

A-Force the title began in he Secret Wars crossover, A-Force was the name of the all-female superhero army defending one of the regions of Battleworld, Arcadia. They were led by She-hulk. The character Singularity was introduced in this series where she appeared out of nowhere and caused a lot of problems because her existence contradicted Dr Dooms assertion that Battleworld represented everything in existence (I think, it's been a while since I read it).
A-Force the title continued after Secret Wars and began with Singularity reappearing in the main 616 universe and re-uniting with some of her friends from Arcadia (which she remembered, the others did not). A-Force now referred to the group of heroes she made friends with in 616: She-Hulk, Captain Marvel, Dazzler, Nico Minoru and Medusa. Elsa Bloodstone appeared in a few issues as an ally of the group.

It was a really fun comic, even if the concept of A-Force in the 616 universe wasn't that clearly established. I'm not sure it was ever a formal designation.

So what happened to the Homecoming Legends being out in stores last week? Not a single store around me has anything to indicate they are out.

Not sure, but they popped up on Amazon again today momentarily before being yanked again.

Just got confirmation that my Mantis wave shipped today though, so that'll tide me over until the Spidey wave drops once and for all.

Thanks man. What is Battleworld though?

I honestly give up on looking for it. When I hear someone say they're out, I'll look but otherwise I'm over hunting for it.

It's because it's on the Red She-Hulk/Thundra body with the terrible hips.

Basically the whole Marvel multi-verse collapsed and at the point where it collapsed Doctor Doom combined all the remnants (or something like that) of the multi-verse into Battleworld and ruled it as a god.

Because the Valkyrie buck sucks, especially the hip articulation

Jeddo and Veronica hit it on the head. Everything about that body mold sucks. The proportions, the articulation, those ugly hips with that 6 inch waist...Why Hasbro didn't go with an upscaled version of the sculpt superior Silk/Ashley Barton mold is baffling.

After watching the review as well...I hate to say it, but She-Hulk got hit with an ugly stick. Repeatedly. That stoic/semi stink-faced expression she has doesn't do her any favors either. The original Hasbro version looked way better, as did the Red She Hulk.

I know a lot of people are excited for She-Hulk, but Hasbro SHOULD have done better on that one. I have no real interest in this set to begin with, but even I would have tried to at least track She-Hulk down loose. Not when the figure looks like that though.

Panther 05-12-2017 04:30 AM

I know this was brought up a while back, but I cannot justify hunting for figures anymore. There were times I would hear something was out, pick up my keys and go. But if it's one thing I've learned in life is that patience is my friend. Amazon, Big Bad Toy Store, and Entertainment Earth have been very good to me, so I'm going to stick to online shopping, and saving money on gas in the process.

None of the female ML molds are that good, personally I find the somewhat limited hips less offensive than the Spider-women molds that have about half the articulation that they need. I can get Valkyrie and Thundra into some good, dynamic poses for the type of character they are. It's much harder to get the Spider-women into anything resembling a lithe, gymnastic pose that they should be in.
I don't agree about the She Hulk head sculpt either. To me the main problems with it (aside from the mediocre articulation common to all female ML) is the long neck, the shorter height and the shrink wrapped breasts. I have the original She-Hulk figure on my desk right now and the only thing I wish the new one had from it was the height. Hasbro Marvel Legends need better expressions almost across the board in my opinion, so that's not something unique to this figure. But even when they give them a more idiosyncratic just as many people start complaining about it (like Enchantress) so I can see why they just stick to more neutral expressions. The old She-Hulk figures expression is inappropriately vacuous as well.

I'm not trying to change anyones' mind, I just don't agree.
