Yeah, they're referring to how some of the female bodies are molded how female characters are often drawn in comics, as if the costume has separate boob-socks, instead of being an actual piece of skintight clothing that would just stretch over both boobs the way real fabrics do, creating somewhat of a "mono-boob".

Ah, yes, I see. That is true of butts too. They make a lot of butts where the crack is super defined, where as IRL the clothes stretches over.

Side note, I've always found it funny how when Hulk turns into the Hulk, he becomes a big, kind of ugly guy.

When She Hulk transforms, she's like a supermodel who's been working on her toning exercises.

Here is an example using three different molds that Hasbro has incorporated over the years. The first one is the Wasp body mold, where it looks like the costume is actually the character's skin, as opposed to an actual costume. The Moonstone/Ms. Marvel mold is very similar to this one. The next one is of Kate Bishop, which made its debut with the Silk and Ashley Barton figures. The bottom figure is the original She-Hulk figure that Hasbro put out, which thanks to Hasbro attempting to do some ToyBiz style sculpting, ended up actually ooking as if she were coated in shrink wrap.

I have always thought of She-Hulk's transformation as being something of an infection, a mutated strain of the same infection that Bruce Banner has. Like all viruses and infections tend to, her's has changed a bit from Bruce's, allowing her to maintain her human side to shine through, as opposed to Bruce's which is the physical embodiment of the pure rage pent up inside him.

Actually Spider-Bitch shares the boob torso of satana/hellcat/spiderwoman not silk and hawking bird. :)

I stand corrected. Silk was an all new female body mold, with the bottom half only also debuting on Spider Barton. You are right about the top half though. My bad.

Im not usually one to get whole waves ( like warlock ) and lotta online stores only have certain individual figs for sale not all thus forcing buyers to get whole cases to obtain certain figs ( like for instance sunfire ). And if they do theyre sold out in seconds or proced higher than brock n mortar and then theres the ricockulous shipping.

If etailers had individual figures for sale and kept stock up id be more inclined want shop online but until i can see actual product instead of stock photos i will prefer physical retail where i can see what im buying instead of buying sightunseen.

Brick and mortar stores kind of suck due to the fact they're usually never have the newest stuff available. i agree it is sometimes better to buy online rather than local. i have however have been lucky with SOME figures and found them while doing my shopping. rogue, darkhawk, angela were just sitting there literally ripe for my picking. however i can't say the same for deadpool which i had to order on Amazon and cyclops and colossus are still no shows around my area.

I hate it when they do that, it's just so unrealistic. That's my problem with Jim Lee's artwork when I read Hush, it just looks like the characters have colored skin, not like they're wearing material.

Holy shit, all your hard work paid off, she looks just like the comics.

Dr Kain 05-12-2017 10:05 PM

I hope they do a comic accurate Nebula at some point. Preferably the version from Infinity War.

Archangel 05-12-2017 11:01 PM

I have a lead on a ToyBiz Moon Knight for $25. Might snag it Monday.

Weapon X 05-12-2017 11:45 PM

Post pics if you do.

I think that the more recent female molds are good enough for what they're trying to accomplish, and I definitely agree with you on the hip articulation in general. While I'm okay with the single jointed elbows (I've had enough scares with double jointed ones on female figures, so I'm okay with not ever having to deal with that again...) there's no reason why the hip articulation can't be at least close or equal to what we got out of Mockingbird.

I have found that my favorite female mold is the kit bashed Silk top/Wasp bottom that was used for the Kate Bishop figure, as it seems to have the best proportions (superhero wise...) as well as sculpt overall, especially on the breasts, where it features the stretched costume look, without looking like shrink wrap or the breast cones that Madonna used to wear in the mid 90's.

As for She-Hulk...that's fine that you think that, although you might be looking at her with green tinted glasses.

My issue with that She-Hulk is that the figure itself is just ugly and could (and should have been) so much better. It's just that body mold. As for the head, I think it's also the tone of green that they used to paint the face, as well as the hair color. It's very dark compared to past figures, and it throws the whole thing off. From the review, it looked also as if her hair and lipstick was painted black, which also could be throwing it off, as I'm more used to her having a darker green set of locks and lips to offset her bright green skin.

I also would have liked to have seen her barefoot as she is often depicted, so the whole figure just really comes off as cheap, especially considering the amount of work that the rest of the set appears to have received.

The older She-Hulk figures weren't great either, but at least they were pretty (especially the SDCC version, which I felt was gorgeous.) If I do get this one, I'm gonna definitely be switching out the head for either that one or the Savage She-Hulk head. I just feel they do her better justice.

I think that's true up to a point, certain characters like spellcasters aren't going to need double elbows as much as a Spider-character or a fighter for example. But at the same time there is no real reason, when they continue to create new molds, that we are getting new female molds with significantly less articulation than new male molds. Especially when other companies are showing that the reasons given for less articulation on female figures are nonsensical (DC Icons/Bombshells).

Agreed, that's my favourite female mold at the moment too (though I wish they would give it double elbows). But it still inadequate for a Spider-woman compared to the level of articulation the Spider-men get. I'm paying the same price per figure I want the same quality.

I don't think so. I'm not saying it's a fantastic figure, but I think it's flaws are being overstated. I would agree it is probably the weakest figure in the set even, at least to someone who REALLY wanted a Singularity. But to me it still represents an upgrade to the old one. Closed fists, better proportions and ankle rockers are well very welcome additions and balance out the flaws for me. But I can certainly see why people might be disappointed in it.

Guys I have a major issue to bring to the forum. Three days ago my best friend was robbed of EVERYTHING. They stole his comics, all his dvds and blu-rays and all his figures. He'd just finished building titus and they even stole his dc figs. Im reaching out to the community to help me help him replace what I can. If anyone has any legends they can spare, figures, bafs, baf parts...anything will help. Pm if you can help. Thanks!

Sad thing is, after talking and visiting a few local shops, i think theyve been sold. And unfortunately he didnt have a list of his items or pictures so theres no proof of ownership. Im already giving him my extras and unwanteds and got a hulkbuster baf. Hes been my best friend for a awhile and was there for when i needed a few htf figs me so its only right i return the favor.
What really pisses me off is i made a couple customs tor him and they stole them too.

Sadly though, Vulture kind of sucks. I think I might just package it right back up and bring it back to the store. He was not worth $40.

Hope the nut-less jerk who victimized your friend spends the better part of a decade as a very large man's snugglemuffin in prison, Nite. That's a vile thing to do to another human.

It was suggested elsewhere that Rocket's guns were a little puny, so I tried some beefier ones to see how they looked.

I've got a sales imgur album with a lot of Legends if he needs them. Good luck on the rebuild, I had to do that with my Wii and Gamecube games. :( Best wishes. :)

Finally! Cyclops in the Danger Room!

apocalypse 05-14-2017 12:22 AM

Hey All,
I was wondering if anyone has an extra King Hulk sword and Planet Hulk accessories that they would be willing to part with? I'd be willing to pay of course.
Thanks

I pretty much felt the same way from just looking at pics, I don't really get the craze over it.
