Found Cyclops this morning, got moon knight from amazon this week. Debating holding off on everything else until the eventual winter clearance massacre like last year

TheBlueMarvel 05-19-2017 10:29 AM

Same here...

I'm surprised that the X-Wave is still appearing.

I can't get Moon Knight for the life of me, it must become available at like 6am.

Well, in lieu of finding anything new in these parts, I'll settle with a couple new customs. Luke Cage and my 2nd attempt at the Hood.

Panther 05-19-2017 01:17 PM

They arrived...

Might have to move Steve and Tony. I still have spots reserved for Ego, and the figures from the Spider-Man: Homecoming Wave.

Just got these today. Walgreens has em out now. There were at least 6 of them I got two. If you're in the inland empire California this one is located in Walgreens upland. Off to try and hunt mj/Spidey pack

It looks like Tony and Steve are arguing with each other over this:

Went to my Walgreens, nothing. Still just the goddamn Red Skull and Rhino Waves collecting dust. I don't think they order new figures....ever.

Some food goes right through people.

Panther 05-19-2017 03:42 PM

@Weapon X

Steve: "What if there's a loaf of bread we need to get to and they won't let us?"

Tony: "That's good. When I found out what my loaves of bread were doing to others, I shut it down."

Weapon X 05-19-2017 03:55 PM

Lmao.

Steve: "The cost of putting bread in toilets is high. But it's a price I'm willing to pay."

Weapon X 05-19-2017 03:56 PM

That's how Civil War really started. First it was coffee grounds in the disposal, then bread in the toilets.

Weapon X 05-19-2017 03:58 PM

In Sokovia, bread put you in toilet.

ok ok I'm done :wolv

And if pattern holds true it will probably be the last time it is sighted in Kansas City. The TRU Groot has been non-existent. I had a nice lady a couple weeks back at one of the local TRUs ask what Legend I was looking for. When I told her Groot, she sighed. Apparently they have had a hell of a time getting distributions of Groot to their store.

( I usually spend 10+ hours hitting places on a given day throughout the day) BUT I have only ever found the TRU Groot 1 time, bought 1, and have never seen it again at any of the 4 TRU in the KC area. I recently bought the Transformers Velocitron box set about a month ago, and have never seen it restock either.

Thanks pal, you saved me a drive to the two around me :).

The loaves of bread, yes. The toast, not so much. Two men in a room can eat more bread than 20...LOL!!!!

In all seriousness, I am very pleased with the GOTG V2 figures. Hasbro gave us the full team in 3 months (2 waves) that's something The Avengers can't even say.

True.....and kind of sad.

jwyss234 05-19-2017 05:59 PM

Saw the new Alien movie today and used my time before the movie to hunt for the Invisible Woman and the Spiderman/MJ pack. Came up with bupkis in the Murfreesboro, TN area today.

I've never seen Groot at mine in TN either. I have the original BAF so I don't need it but it feels like a bad sign to me for the Spiderman/MJ 2 pack. Hopefully TRU will flood their stores with the 2 pack so I don't have to worry.

Well, Marvel/Disney removed that MCU oversight group that Ike Perlmutter was a part of so he can no long block the production of figures based on the MCU female characters.

I'm not sure who that is.

It's never a good idea to introduce the wife to your ex's. Remember...happy wife, happy life!

(and yes...I know the two aren't married in the books atm...just roll with it people. ;))

He's the CEO of Marvel Entertainment. I believe he is the reason Maya Hansen was changed from being the main villain in Iron Man 3. I also read multiple reports that he didn't think female merchandise would sale...FALSE (at least speaking for myself). Kevin Feige threaten to quit if he had to continue to report to him.

Bingo. I think Civil War was the last movie Perlmutter was involved with. Maybe Dr. Strange. But GOTG 2 was clear of his influence which is why we're getting Gamora, Nebula, and Mantis in one wave.

Ike Perlmutter was the head of ToyBiz when they bought Marvel back in the mid-late 90's and becane Marvel Entertainment, so a lot of his commands relating to the movies were very merch- and toy-centric, including the largely-false-but-unfortunately-prevalent-among-big-toy-companies idea that "female action figures don't sell".

Allegedly, Perlmutter is also the one who decided to replace Terrence Howard with Don Cheadle as Rhodey, because Perlmutter allegedly said "black people look the same". Plus, he's apparently incredibly cheap, known for saying things to his employees like "Why do you need a new pencil? There's two inches left on that one!"

He's also incredibly reclusive; he takes pride in the fact that he's never given an interview despite being in mqny court battles and bankruptcy fights, and before he recently got forced into the spotlight a bit more starting back in December due to being a friend and advisor of a certain orange Commander-In-Chief, the last known photo of him was from 1985, over a decade before he even became involved with Marvel. He reportedly attended the premiere of Iron Man back in 2008 wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses, and a fake moustache.

This is weird, I didn't know Kevin Feige reported to anyone other than Disney

Uh...some of that sounds embellished.

Terence Howard was replaced because Jon Favreau did not get along with him, and RDJ took some of the money that was supposed to go to Terence, and Terence was not happy with the pay cut and walked.

He reported to Ike Perlmutter until late 2015-early 2016, where he was so fed up with what Ike was making him and the other leads of Marvel Studios do that they kinda separated a bit from Marvel Entertainment, and now Marvel Entertainment operates directly under Disney, and Feige answers directly to Bob Iger. Either Doctor Strange or GotG Vol. 2 were the first movie made under this new hierarchy.

Unfortunately, Jeph Loeb and the Marvel TV division still answer to Perlmutter, and that's been the main thing keeping the shows/Netflix series and movies from crossing over as much as fans would like them to.

Yes. It's all coming back to me. I remember reading most of these things, most notably the Terrance Howard incident. Kevin Feige is my idol. I've followed his career since X-Men: The Last Stand. What he and his team have down in terms of film with the MCU is beautiful. When I read he threatened to quit because of Perlmutter I knew there was just something off about him. He's rubbed so many people the wrong way, and the one man who knows these characters better than anyone and built a cinematic empire wanted to walk out was a big red flag.

I'm in the massive minority, but I love movie figures, and hope the quality of characters and character choices continue movie forward (Hela, Dora Milaje, updated Black Widow, Wasp). Bring them all on and I'll fill up my shelves.
