It's kinda strange how the movie BP was missing the beard.
|
wait a second, i just noticed something about BP. how come the movie version doesnt have a cape?

i know that but does he wear it in the comics?

he looks better without it

At this point it's rarer for BP to have a cape in the comics. Ditching the cape helps separate him from Batman visually and personally I prefer him without a cape as it helps make him more catlike.

A character known for agility and acrobatics shouldn't really have a cape anyway. It's why the bodysuit look for characters like Nightwing and Daredevil is so fitting.

...I've said this for years. Fight a semi-super fast, semi-super strong, and/or semi-martial master enemy and it's a recipe for death. Add the stereotypical stiletto heels that male "creatives" like to give women...and you may as well throw a toe-tag on that street level heroine design. |
I'm just imagining an agile acrobatic hero leaping and flipping through the skyline, only to break their neck when their cape gets stuck on a flagpole or fire escape.

This conversation is hilarious! For female figures it's definitely the idea that sex sells. Look no further than Psylocke with her thong-kini. While the costume does not get in the way of her fighting (as there is very little costume) it provides practically zero protection, unless someone were to boob punch her. (this also applies to Elektra). Then you've got the characters with trench coats that were added to look "mysterious"...Gambit I'm looking at you. Really though with the capes, why do so many heroes have capes anyways. I understand if they are doing it for a regal/royal reasoning - Thor and Black Knight it makes sense, and I guess that's why it matches for Black Panther as well. It's not functional in a fight but it adds an air of royalty.

Though I do like the idea of T'Challa wearing a cape when not doing his acrobatic-hero thing, and then takes it off like a boxing/wrestling robe before a match. Adds a certain amount of regal class to him. |
I'm surprised Namor with his ego never wore a cape.
