Did find the MJ 2 pack this week in KC all the way on the East side of town. Had a 25$ off coupon to burn and was happy to find something to use it on. There were 3 left when I found it. I checked all 3 of the other TRU in town throughout the day yesterday and nothing. One store at least had a tag on the shelf for the 2 pack but the other 2 did not even have a spot for them on the shelf. And they do apear to be being placed in the Homecoming display area NOT the regular ML area.

Thanks Warmachine for the heads up. Ordered. BTW I have an extra Invisible Woman if you're interested PM.

Veronica Mars 05-25-2017 12:44 PM

Is the unmasked Peter Parker head a new sculpt or is it a repaint of the SDCC Purple Man head?

Harbinger 05-25-2017 01:04 PM

It looks new

It is mostly new. Borrows a bit from the 12 inch Legends release with some retooling on the hair and lips, as he has less of a smirk.

I wonder if that Mary Jane head could fit on one of the spider-woman/girl outfits. Could be an interesting AU character.

It fits on the adult body figures for the most part, though you will have to do some adjusting for some, as MJ has a rather large socket to accommodate the neck peg, and it is drilled fairly deep into the head (most likely because the neck peg that the actual ball sits on for the MJ body is rather long as Legends go.)

It will not fit on the Spider-girl teen bodies. Those use a different size ball peg altogether. It also won't fit on the Hasbro Iron Spidey figures either.

So I finally saw GotG vol2 last night, it paid off to wait as the theater was almost completely empty. Without going into anything I'll just say I enjoyed it and leave it at that. When is the two pack with Ego supposed to come out?

I enjoyed it myself, but i liked the first one a bit more.....though mantis was really cool ( and easy on the eyes ).
The first movie felt like a combination of ice pirates meets space hunter adventures in the forbidden zone. The second one kinda felt like Megaforce meets Flashgordon.

I saw it last week. I think its funny to watch people leave after the first credits scene, or the second, or third, or fourth...

I always google how many there are because they like to troll and have anywhere from 1-5...

I agree with your assessment. I liked Vol 2 but it wasn't anywhere near as good as Vol 1. Mantis/Drax were the best part of the comedy, though I still think Mantis looks like a Tellytubby. :D

I also prefer the first overall, it was a fresher experience plunging into MCU's cosmic world the first time. The comic fan in me will always be bugged by the numerous character changes they made compared to the comics but the movie fan in me has a good time.

One particular thing that I think vol2 handled much better than the first was the villain department. Lee Pace's Ronan was intimidating and sorta fun to watch but he was a Saturday morning cartoon villain. His whole motivation was "Man, Kree are the best. Screw Xandar I hate 'em." Ronan wasn't as flat as Malekith but he wasn't as engaging to me as even someone like Yellowjacket who was still pretty simple.

but really, let's be honest. Short of Loki, Iron Monger, and Robert Redford's character (I don't count Winter Solider), MCU hasn't really had that great showing of villains.

I think it works more for ceremonial purposes.

It is for reasons like this that the cape scene in The Incredibles still rings so true even now.

I agree although I would have preferred the very cat face styled mask from The Ultimates.

Hrm, I wonder if the hwy 7 location got in some new stock since I checked the other day.... I live in the Olathe area so that and 95 St are the easiest for me to check. I think the east side one where PC found his generally has the best stock but I am not driving 40 minutes for a maybe.

I liked Corey Stoll as Yellowjacket too and James Spader as Ultron (comic inaccurate though he may be). Robert Redford as Alexander Pierce was a very nice way to put a legendary actor into play and actually get a good villain. Sort of the same thing went for Jeff Bridges as Iron Monger except then he also had a cool fight, for obvious reasons Pierce wasn't a fighter. I hope that with Michael Keaton playing the role maybe Vulture can be another great villain and maybe they'll break pattern and not kill him off so we can get return value later.

I get it when he's in Wakanda ruling, it is a very king-like accessory to have. Or when he acts as ambassador to other nations it works but as an active combatant the cape should come off. Especially since he doesn't actually use it for anything that I can recall, I don't remember it ever serving any transportation purposes like Batman's.

Yeah, that's what I mean.

Captain Nash 05-25-2017 05:45 PM

It's not the cape the Black Panther needs, but it's the cape he deserves.
